It's no joke. I really quit. I'm busy working on more dignified and lucrative pursuits. Believe it or not.
If you really quit, why to waste more time persuading others? Now you even don't get pennies. Good luck with more dignified and lucrative pursuits.
Hehe! Wow are you going to defend getting pennies? Well good luck to you too. You must be some Shutterstock/Istock goon or whatever..

You came to a forum about microstrock with people who work microstock to say, you don't do this. Makes no sense.
What? I did do microstock for years! Obviously you haven't been paying attention.

I did it! I pulled all of my ports. No complaining about getting screwed over by these thieves. I will not be give my work out for free (that's sure how it feels) any longer.

Maybe you need to optimize your files for Google? http://www.shutterstock.com/blog/seo-on-shutterstock-how-to-help-customers-find-your-images-on-google
One thing I've notice a lot of contributors, even experience ones do is focus on single keywords, which is basically asking for a low ranking with any search engine, SS included.
If some of you guys are struggling to get downloads, focus on long tail keywords. Almost all short tail terms are already taken, so if that's your focus, you're looking up at an mountain, waiting to be buried in it. If you focus on long tail, you're looking at a hill...still the possibility of climbing to the top.
I'm quite offended by your remarks targeting short tails. Now I have a short tail but it serves me well. I am proud of it. AND...as a matter of fact I like looking up at mountains and most indubitably I love to be buried in it (I assume you mean dirt)...or at least dig through it. I don't gopher insults like that. Take it back.
Don't get me wrong. I like short tails...especially when they wiggle. I'm just a long tail guy myself. They're just sexier.
It's all about how one uses their tail not the length.

I have surpassed the download limit you've imposed on my portfolio!! I just wanted to let you know so that I don't get too many sales and possibly pay for dinner tomorrow. Thanks!

Alamy?! Hahahahahahahahaaaaaa! LOL. Oh my miserable gopher once again! Alamy to explain something to you, just forget about your port there for a year or two then check it again and maybe someone will have gophered one of your images. My Alamy sales graph looks like a one of those angular buildings in Egypt and it took a year to build it. That's why I stick to digging tunnels.

El lobo...that bad wolf chased me down and I was stuck in my tunnels for days on end. He snarls and bears his teeth no matter what I say. I got tired of him and now I steer clear of Lobo's forum, Yes sir! I'm sure he's eating the customers too because there are no regular Istock sales anymore. It's all the PP stuff that sells these days. Hope he doesn't get a hold of those PP folks.

ive heard so often here now, how someones have just 400 online images and over 200 sales.
ive nearly got 1000 in one agency and have only 30.
i got in begin of the year 2014.
is it just gonna bad for late starter or depends this to strong in the images? i make much nature images.
is it worth it ?
Well...It depends on what you're trying to gopher. It's best to gopher realistic expectations. Aim low and you will always succeed. Keep digging down and don't look up. That seems to be the strategy these microstock sites employ.

I was out in the field all day and worked my little gopher tail off. Then I uploaded some images that I worked so hard for to Alamy and never sold a single one! Hahahahahahah! LOL. Oh my gopher!

You shall be rich beyond your belief! Bigstock is a very high earner with great royalties for contributors. I count my blessings for every 25 cents I EARN there. Oh yes, believe you me, you will be up to your neck in cold, hard cash, if your a gopher anyway...why, one of my tunnels has been rendered unnavigable for it's choked with quarters. Whew! I would go to my local CoinStar if I could reach that high. Alas, I'm just a gopher...(sigh)...
Guys, we found him...... The legendary stock photographing, rooting tooting gopher
All hail
Yep, and I think I've got his photo in my own critter collection on SS, DT, FT, et al. He's one verrrrry cute and cuddly gopher!
Or have I found you? Ah yes, those are my fellow gophers you have captured in your images. Make no mistake those are some naughty ones though. They are concocting a plan to tunnel under every photo "agency" to demand higher royalties and respect or leave them with even shakier foundations.

A curious anomaly has come to light when I view my personal sales map. I simply never get any sales in Antarctica or the Arctic!! I am dumbfounded! Also, who is the mysterious person off the coast of north-west Africa downloading my images? Or...is this Shutterstock's version of the Bermuda Triangle? I've noticed it does seem to be on the same latitude as the Bermuda Triangle. Makes my little tail shake!

But I've just arrived so why are they leaving? I am ready for some serious debate and discussion.
HAHAHAHA Welcome back Kotter!!
Kotter? What interesting name! Was he (or she) a person of important stature?
Title of an old TV show from the last century.
Am I to assume the rest of you were the Sweathogs and he was here to salvage your edumacation? Hahaha! How silly!
