We can only imagine it. so... Hello to all my colleague photographers. Recently i spoke with few local photographers (good friends) about imaginary "perfect" stock agency for us photographers. I found out that every single of us have very different views/demands. Some of them would love that keyword system is not so complicated, some of them think that agencies should be more strict on reviewing process, some of them not. One friend told me that he would love to see stock agency where you don't need to review images (all approved) which i found weird. Of course we all agreed that we should have more money from our sales than we have today. My thoughts were that review times should be shorter. Subscription system is wrong on most of them. Images should be more promoted. Our income from one sold image should not be bellow 50% Of course this would be very bad for people who are owners of the agency... or buyers... Anyway i would love to hear your opinions on how would perfect stock agency look like. Sorry on bad English and cheers.

Hello Alfa156.
Even if removing yellow sticker on the right wont do it.
Cameras -Isolated images of cameras or camera equipment (anything which could be seen as a product shot) are copyrighted. -Unacceptable for commercial use.
That mean you could submit it as editorial. Or change the way camera looks like.
Always try to remove everything what looks like font-logo-sticker-text-label-warning message etc
Hope this help !

Its their rules. I know what you guys think and i agree, its not fair and yes their rules sound kinda contradictory, but i guess they just want to be able to terminate anyone anytime without or with explanations depends on the situation. But in this case, where he downloaded his own images its very clear why its happening.
If i understood correctly his account is just "blocked" its not terminated yet, so OP have so some talk to do with fotolia and then they will decide what will happen next.
On the other hand fotolia have internal "message" system where you are receiving messages about your approved images and your sold files etc. There should be message about this matter as well, and i think and i'm 90% sure that OP received email regarding this issue. Jinesh Gopi please correct me if i'm wrong.

They stated in their "Upload Agreement"
"We may terminate this Agreement or remove any Work or suspend your account without prior notice. In the event of your breach of the terms this Agreement or as part of our investigation for fraudulent or illegal activities or in response to law enforcement requests, we will notify you prior to terminating your account. We will have no payment obligation to you if we terminate the Agreement for cause. You may terminate this Agreement at any time upon at least 3-month notice to us in a manner that we prescribed on our Website. We may deny the uploading of any Work our Website."
However i do agree that they should explain him why they blocked his account. That's why i advised OP to call them rather than sending email.

What you did is against the rules. Therefore they blocked your account. You can try to call them and explain what happened and maybe they will give you a second chance. But i doubt it. Sending email to the support won't do much cuz they will just refer you that you broke they rules and therefore your account is locked.

Hello.
Is it possible to make a script or command in Adobe Bridge to automatically create and re-name new folder and copy labeled images to created folder.
For example I'm going trough set of raw images and i want to label some of them with "SELECTED" so later on i have selected images for post-production in specific folder. So when i label them bridge could create new folder called "SELECTED" inside original folder and copy selected images in it.
Or when i label image with REJECT it could be automatically moved and stored to the REJECT folder.
Don't know is this possible, but i saw people making all kind of scripts for adobe brigde, so if someone know how to do this i would really appreciate it.
Kind Regards.

I think it's related to your approval ratio and your weekly/overall sales.
Weekly: 6400 Overall: 61000

First one would be rejected due to trademark, logo on the building. If you remove that and image is technically correct maybe it could pass, if there is no noise on the left side of the bridge, dark area. ( i think there is but can't tell for sure with small res)
Second one i can't see correct again but looks like another logo on the building above the train.
Third image maybe could pass if technically correct.
Fourth image is poor lighting and limited commercial value it will be rejected.
For your first ten i would suggest different kind of concepts. Some isolated objects maybe, few well planned landscape (with good concept) shots. Try to put yourself in position of the buyer. For what would you use images that you submit. As well try to avoid images of pets, flowers, sunsets etc.
If you would like detailed feedback you should post 100% crop of images. Crucial points, focus points and darker tones (shades for noise check)

Its because they do not like your work. And to be realistic your work can be done much much better, but you will improve by the time. If your tactics are bringing you money so far, than just keep doing it.
Your question here was how much money you can make from your portfolio? Well that is very hard to answer. People here gave you very realistic opinion about your porftolio. And they are right. But that doesn't mean that you wont make any money. There are always all kind people who will need all kind of images. Now imagine if you would improve quality of your work and focus on specific concept ? You would double or triple your earning in no time.
As i said by the time you will see what is market demanding from you, which images are selling which not. Make rough plans for weekly shoots, see what is selling best, what are world trends at the moment, set yourself and your team weekly and monthly target to be achieved, and most important keep track of your sales and precise statistic. (would recommend excel) Plan few months in front, shoot xmas concept already at the end of september to be ready for upload one/two months before xmas.. Planning - > Production -> Postproduction -> File menagment
I wish you a lot of new sales.
Cheers.
PS. pm me if you want me to send you master copy of our excel statistics , its on Serbian but im sure you would be able to translate it.

Yes that is correct everything you upload after some time starting to fade out. But its normal for every business to replenish your market with new products constantly if you want to see some "action".
Just to add something regarding too late for microstock.
When it becomes too late, big agencies would eventually stop accepting new photographers, and then they would bring up upload limit to save space, review process would become 10x times strict than it is today. And eventually when demand drops bellow upload limit (which will probably never happen) when you press upload button a message would something like "AT THIS MOMENT WE DO NOT ACCEPT NEW IMAGES, PLEASE FEEL FREE TO TRY LATER"
So who ever is reading this and wants to start microstock business, go and do it. Its not late.
Of course that some things changed over past 10 years, and some images are not selling as 10 years before. But market is changing every year and its completely normal.
Cheers and i wish you a lot of accepted and sold images !

Yes its important. However more important are images that we have in our portfolios. But name as someone mentioned already can play crucial role in client remembering you.
It should be possible to change name anytime you want by writing to the support.

I wont agree with "too late" attitude no matter how many posts i see about it. I simply know its not too late, actually its very simple. Digital media market demand is growing faster than we can upload all our pictures at once.
I know people who earn 2k $ per month. I know people who earn 5k $ per month. I know people who earn 20$ usd per month ... its all matter of quantity and quality and most important planning when you are uploading what kind of motive.

Its much harder to earn money than before , but its never late. Demand for digital medium is growing and expanding day by day. Even in next 10 years i think that microstock have future (slightly different but that is another subject)

Yes of course. That is why i'm confused. Proof view is turned off. Working space is set to sRGB , color space policies are set to convert to working space. When saving as JPG , ICC PROFILE is checked.
Oh yea, all our images are produced/shot at adobe RGB color profile, but later on when selected for postproduction converted to srgb.

Hello to all. This is my first post here. Recently i noticed that my images at istock are slightly more yellow (warmer) than originals, and images on shutterstock are greenish. Now i know that istock is converting preview images to srgb color space. All my images are handled *and uploaded* in sRGB color space. However there is always difference beetwen them. This only applie to the preview images. Originals when downloaded looks fine. I'm using sRGB color working space in photoshop and all files are converted to working space when loaded. Default color space on bridge is sRGB as well. Display monitor was calibrated for sRGB two weeks ago. Monitor is DELL AH-IPS P2414H Don't have any other problems with colors, printed material is matching onscreen colors. Any advice on this one ? Cheers.
