Off Topic / Refurbished Mac Products?
« on: June 05, 2010, 13:48 »
Has anyone bought any refurbished mac products? Good luck or bad? It's just a matter of time until I have to buy a new laptop. It seems like a good way to save some money. Apple Care can be extended to a full 3 years. That's the same as I got on my last new mac laptop.

Thanks for the help!

Lighting / Old Lighting Equipment
« on: May 02, 2009, 11:04 »
All of you who have read my earlier post about having two houses 1500 miles apart know what I'm talking about. I've been in New Mexico this last week sorting through our storage area there. I found a box of lighting equipment that I bought in the early 80s to photography the handwoven rugs and textiles that I was making at the time. I bought them from Spiratone, who is no longer in business. All of the equipment is in perfect working order. Will the strobe flashes and slaves work with my digital camera? I don't want to damage the camera.

Thanks for the help.

Off Topic / House With Photography Studio for Sale
« on: March 20, 2009, 10:25 »
My husband and I bought our dream home for retirement in 2005. It's just outside of Santa Fe, New Mexico in a lovely area. We bought it from Myron Taplin. He was the non-model photographer for the Peruvian Connection catalog. Then life changed. My husband's job of almost twenty years in Albuquerque disappeared. I got ill and had to have surgery. My husband did find his dream job, but it's in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. If anyone is looking for a lovely house in New Mexico with a photography studio, email me. I'd be glad to discuss the details. We hate to let the house go, but my husband is enjoying his teaching job so much that he's decided not to retire for years. Plus, managing two houses is a major financial and time drain. New Mexico is wonderful!

I just tried to upload an illustration to Dreamstime and got the message that the regular upload was disabled and to use FTP. Does anyone know what's happening?
