How do you report earnings on your income tax return? Hobby income, even if it's still fairly substantial? If you put zero effort into it and just passively collect royalties all year, would it still qualify as a "business"? Just curious as this will be my situation next year. Thanks!

Doing my 2016 taxes. I got a 10-99 from Envato saying I made $16 in royalties. I cancelled my account before I ever got a payoff just to avoid tax problems. So do I really have to pay taxes on $16 that I never received and never will, which was in effect, a gift to them?

My earnings total is still showing April's amount plus May's two days' worth. Anyone else? I sent them a message and am expecting a timely reply

The general consensus seems to be that we are in a race to that particular destination, so I would be interested in your thoughts/opinions as to where that destination might actually lie. I would be willing to bet that the agencies have hired consultants to answer this very question. "How little can we pay them and still get enough new quality content to keep our customers happy?" So I don't think we'd be tipping them off to any new information by discussing this. I'm probably the average US contributor with an average portfolio making a decent part-time income (can anyone actually live on microstock income anymore?) My average RPD with 6 agencies is about 65 cents. I think when it drops to around 25 cents, my incentive to produce and upload new content will be severely compromised. But then again I'm a retired part-timer who doesn't depend on this to survive. I think someone in Croatia who could live comfortably on my income and has fewer income options might have a different answer.

I know you can download your 1099 from SS online. I think the rest of them send paper copies to your address, so I should have them all, is this correct? Sorry, I'm not at my permanent address right now so my mom will have to send them to me. Thanks, Ya'll!

I have about 20 photos that have been sitting there in the "pending" line since April 15th (2015). If they don't want my medical photos, I wish they'd just tell me so I can skip that stupid, tedious upload process. The ones they have sell well and they keep a ridiculous 84% on them, so you would think the greedy vultures would add them faster. Is it just me, or is everyone else seeing the same thing?

47 downloads today and not even one ODD or SOD (except the 38 cent ones). How do you stay motivated to produce new content? So depressing.

Tell me they haven't stooped this low. But it appears that they have done just that.

I sent in a support ticket and am patiently holding my breath waiting for a reply.

With all the shenanigans being pulled by a few of the agencies recently, I am seriously considering stopping my uploads of new files to everyone except SS. I would hope that my non-sub sales on SS would increase if they weren't available everywhere else, but maybe not. If anyone else cares to crunch a few numbers and participate in an informal poll, it might give us all some insight on the implications of dropping a few of those shadier outfits. I don't think we would be violating any TOS with SS, since we're only talking percentages, not actual numbers. Someone please correct me, if I'm wrong. Here are my percentages for August, September, and October combined: 56% of my earnings came from subs, 44% from non-sub sales, and I actively submit to 6 different agencies. Thanks everyone!

http://www.123rf.com/sellimages.phpIs it a joke or are they not native English speakers or do they really not know how to spell a 3 letter word? It really makes me have confidence in their ability to keep up with my money.

I finally made 50 "credits" and converted them to paypal on March 5. The receipt on "my credits" page is still showing "pending" for the status. Was there something else I needed to do to get this transferred to paypal? I've sent them 2 emails (the first was 12 days ago), and they have yet to answer me.

Anyone else seeing this when they try to view their downloads for January? I know I have some because they are showing up on the earnings page (after the annoying captcha).

Dear IS, I don't really care how many tweets you twitter, or new logos you roll out, or even how many matches you "freshen" up. The fact remains that you have the stingiest royalty structure in the business and you will never get any more uploads from me until that changes. Sincerely, An X-Contributor

Had 12 images in the que....nearly all of them outdoor shots in full sun. 100% rejection for "poor lighting"!

I just got accepted (2nd try...I think I resaved one to jpg one too may times on the 1st batch).
For those of you that sell photos on Alamy and microstock: Do you upload the same photos to all of them? Do you sell more on Alamy if you "reserve" a few of your best files for them? Is the editorial stuff worth fooling with? How about travel photography? I must admit, I'm liking their pricing structure and commission. I'd much rather sell a photo once a month for 30 dollars....um, I mean pounds, than sell it 50 times for 38 cents. I don't want something that would sell on the micros to sit there gathering dust on the Alamy shelf either. Thanks for any insight! (Sue, are you there?) Sorry for all the questions. I see a "best of" search button, but not sure if that translates to "selling like hotcakes"?

Just a what-if question. How many of us would be tempted and what kind of terms would they have to offer? They may be missing a golden opportunity right now. If the earnings ratings are any indication, they could possibly put a few more nails in the competition's coffins.

Anybody ever have one that low? It shows on my stat page as a blue file purchase, not partner program. The XS is $2.00 and my huge cut of that is 15%. It has 75 downloads, so I don't think it would be in any kind of "bargain bin". Anybody know what this could be? Thanks for any insight!
