The idea will be to raise funds to start a new agency where every one have 1 vote. The total cost will be:

- 1 dedicated server = 600€/year with 8TB disk.
- License for control panel = 180€/year.
- License for Sell Media plugin = 150€/year.
- Website creation = Free (I will do it).
- 10h design/programming tasks = 3.600€/year.
- Marketing fund to start = 3.000€/year.

Total = 7.530€

My portfolio is about 4.000 photos, 50GB of disk, so with about 7.500GB it could be 150 portfolios as mine, 600.000 photos in total.

- 50% commission for the photographer.
- and the remaining 50% would be for the agency: 30% for marketing and 20% to future growth.

Isn't perfect. But it can be done.

I think it is time to try something new. If you are a programmer and you would like to make a stock agency that pays 50% to contributors send me a private message and we will talk. Isn't a job offer, I don't have money to invest in this. I can take care of server management and very basic programming or design.

Some initial ideas:

- 50% for the contributor.
- Upload by FTP very easy.
- Without categories.

I am not sure if with or without exclusivity. The problem would be to ask for exclusivity if at the beginning when there will be any sale.

Please share any comments about this idea.

I wanted to publish my first premium sale in Cavan Images in case it helps prevent someone from wasting time at this agency.

After uploading a few images, I did not like how they worked and asked to leave. I have been told that I cannot until after 2 years. So they are going to keep the "premium" sales of my photos because they probably won't reach the minimum to charge.

Anyway, I'll be glad when they close.

Since I'm not accepted at premium agencies, I'm testing at distributors, but I do not find much information about it in the forum.

For the moment, I have found these:

Cavan Images: a very slow review service with no control over where the photos are accepted (if they have accepted them somewhere).

AddictiveStock: rejected after 2 months.

Robert Harding: just for travel photos. They ask for pictures of a very large size, which with my 24M camera sometimes does not fit.

I have been testing this distributor for a week. At the moment they have accepted some image but what I do not like is that I can not see what agencies my photos are in. Is it worth giving them the exclusivity?

I have tried to enter several macro agencies and they have rejected me in all, some have not even bothered to answer. In cavanimages.com I have accepted but I find that they do not answer the messages by any means, which makes me rethink if it is a good idea because they ask for exclusivity.

Is there a macro agency that is friendly with the new partner?

I was happy to find a free app for android that allows me to abandon the signing of contracts on paper, but SS has rejected it saying that:

we do not accept the releases from PhotographersArsenal.com.  We only accept releases from the following:

    123rf
    Alamy
    American Society of Media Photographers
    Bigstock
    Corbis
    Dreamstime
    Easy Release (default release)
    Fotolia
    Getty
    iStockphoto

I replied asking about what more can I do to ask them to accept that, anyone with the same desire?

Actually I'm uploading to SS, Adobe and Pond5. Wich one do you think will be my fourth? What do you recomend me?

In the past, I uploaded to:

• Istock and cancelled my account when they said that the images could be deleted and the commissions were lowered.
• Dreamstime, no sales and a lot of problems.
• Bigstockphoto, canstock, 123RF and Alamy: no sales, too much work.

That's my porftolio, I only sell about $7 a month in total with 1500 images and less than 50 videos:

Can you upload to SS? Today, I can't. I'm getting errors like the files was wrong:

WARNING We couldn't read the following files, so they were ignored. If you're using a special image format, try using a standard one like JPEG, TIFF, or EPS. If that's not the problem, make sure your files end with a standard extension like .jpg, .tif, or .eps.

I tried with 2 FTP clients and with the website.

It's anything broke?

I was looking information in the forum about this rare thing but didn't find any, all my emails from SS come as if they were sent at 1970, did you see that?

Today I received a call asking me to remove a photo I was selling in my own web and also at Shutterstock. The photo was from a logo of a national company. They told me that I doesn't have any right to do that and I replied that it was under "editorial" use so it could be use in news, articles, etc.

He answered that they have many lawyers wanting to sue because they go to comission  So I've removed the picture.

My question is, is this true? What about the other photos where I have logos? Here it's my url:

I asked Shutterstock but as their replies are slow, I appreciate any comments about that.

To clarify: I don't have any releases for the photos I have under "editorial". If I have it, it doesn't go under that tag. I just walk for the street and make the photo.
