i started using visualmind.ai to add meta data - it used to take me an h our to process 50-100 images.  with much more detail & only a few mistakes - it even distinguishes among various mosques in Istanbul

now i can process 100-200+ in about 10' - 1' setup. the rest to copy csv to captions & workflow spreadsheets & unzip to an upload folder

anecdotally i seem to be getting more D L of recent uploads (w better tags, desc)

i use several security sites when checking for spam comments on my blog.  here's one

It looks like you don't listen and even cant read plain English.
I am out of this monologue.
A typical answer from a Russian orc and Russian terrorist when asked whose Crimea is.

once again you try to hijack a legitimate thread with your off topic rants  and name calling

104
What's the story? This forum has become a place for political propaganda?  :o :o :o
Is there an administrator somewhere?
1. Where did you see propaganda?
2. Why did you decide that economic and political topics cannot be discussed on this forum.
3. What country are you from?

of course such discussion is possible - but it should be in 'off topic', not spamming legitimate photo threads. and why should country matter?

many of us have strong opinions but manage to leave them out of on-topic forum discussions except when they directly address the topic  (eg ai, commissions, etc).

Price was set to $139. No comment.

i had same problem - i contacted support and they changed all my image prices to a much more reasonable price

As for Ukraine, I already wrote in another thread (which was deleted by the enemies of democracy) that Ukraine does not need money, Ukraine only needs weapons. As a result, the Democrats spend US taxpayers' money on God knows what, and Ukraine does not receive the weapons it needs. Biden is a friend and partner of putin and the Russians.

Interesting. In "the west", "biden" is portrayed as a "dear friend of ukraine".
... "ukraine" seems to have gotten upwards of a MINIMUM of ONE TRILLION DOLLARS to "fight the war". One TRILLION. With a T. Do you know how many hot dogs you can buy with one TRILLION dollars?
...

rather than hijacking threads move your off topic rants to off-topic

The 93 deaths that is being widely reported is based on numbers provided by the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services. A State-based organization in a Republican State.
1. Give a link to the North Carolina Department website where you saw the number 93...

you dare to request links when you refuse to provide factual links supporting your conspiracy nonsense!

It also states that $75 in emergency aid for food and drink is available for each person affected and that there would be financial support of up to $42,500 for rebuilding or repairing the home.

correcting a typo - it's a payment of $750

Hi,

First, hope you are okay. Second... Wondering if you can comment on the following jjnfeff...... {deleted conspiracy nonsense}

Did you know that Blackrock, Bill Gates and the Rothschilds have managed to dislodge some asteroids from their previous orbits somewhere in the universe and steer them towards Earth? The particles that the asteroids contain have also been sprayed with toxins on their way to Earth in order to reduce humanity. In addition to the toxins, they have been sprayed with artificially created viruses from secret biolabs operated by the USA in Ukraine. The Bill Gates Foundation and the WHO are already producing billions of vaccines against these viruses and are expecting exorbitant global sales. The asteroids are to be steered in one of the large low-pressure vortices over the Atlantic so that the toxins and viruses are distributed throughout the air and, after impact, also globally by the Gulf Stream. After the impact on the Atlantic seabed this is the plan of this (absolutely "secret") world elite the released rare earths can be transported away by special ships. The expected profits in combination with the monopoly position are expected to bring trillions to this elite.

I have read all this on reputable sources on the Internet.

unfortunately, there are those who will take your post seriously!  then there's MTG's antisemitic space laser theories now blamed for hurricanes

Yes, the laser cannons - a real problem! Equally amazing is that there are still dogs, cats, guinea pigs and tortoises - at a time when hungry people from Haiti are eating all the pets there are....

In the meantime, the next hurricane is building up and heading for Florida - wind speeds are currently 280 km/h.
This is not really a topic to get into "politically" or with conspiracy theories. "Milton" could lead to the next catastrophe. Depending on how the hurricane moves, this could also be the case for North Carolina.
To feign sympathy for those affected in one sentence cleverly packaged as a question and then go on to express conspiracy theories in many sentences is, in fact, completely out of order. That's why I reacted so cynically. It made me angry!

Incidentally, as a European, I don't find Wck.org ideal because a donation via paypal takes up to 45 days to arrive where it is needed.

there are many other ways to help, usually by cc -- google <contribute to hurricane support>

what's obscenely hypocritical is that trump's project 2025 aims to reduce/eliminate funding for FEMA - the main US agency that responds to disasters - they're already underfunded and have had to deal this year with major wildfires, flooding and hurricanes.

Adobe Stock photo tip of the day: Shoot Christmas themed imagery in September 2024 and they will be on market by September 2025. Shoot back to school images now so that they will be on the market by next school year.

Buyers are going to realize that AdobeStock is "old" stock and head over to other sites, like Shutterstock - who only take 48 hours to review and make available to buyers.

for most topics you can't tell which are old since image dates shown are based on acceptance date, not submitted

of more importance it depends on the content - seasonal content certainly benefits from fast reviews. but travel, landscapes, historical, backgrounds, patterns, etc don't depend on dates. and if you're uploading steadily, you have a steady stream of new content appearing.

I think diversifying across major stock sites is a good strategy as opposed to exclusivity, because success in stock has a significant amount of luck associated with it. In my experience content can sell hundreds of times on one platform and barely any times on others, and it all just depends on whether you got lucky with the algorithm.

exactly - my sales among SS, AS & DT have always been different, especially since many of my sales are editorial that AS won't accept

I started with many agencies, and in fact I still have several active ports in other agencies,I simply decided to concentrate my efforts on the best agency which is Adobe.
...

what you say makes sense, but in my opinion you are underestimating the advantage of working with a single agency.

Now my goal is to make a good income with Adobe, and then maybe I can think about broadening my horizons in the future.

 ....

what are the advantages of working w a single agency when you're no exclusive?

General Stock Discussion / Re: This month's sales
« on: September 02, 2024, 18:16 »

I've already deleted Alamy and I think I'll also deactivate SS soon, leaving content on display for copycats and thieves in agencies that don't make any money,I don't think it's a good idea.

?? I would definitely hope copycats would steal my images that don't sell - better to have them steal those than best-sellers

there's a difference between no income, and minor  income. for me alamy & pond don't sell much, but when they do, the RPD is much higher -  again, 1 sale at $50 is much better than 200 at $.10

if your goal is to have a large increase in income, eliminating even small amounts of passive income may not be a solid strategy

it may be irrelevant as you've stated going exclusive with AS so you'll need to delete all other portfolios anyway

...,

SS I don't even comment on it anymore because it's useless anyway,I've been saying for 2 years that SS is an agency in decline, many didn't believe it because they still earned well, and some still manage to earn well, but there are fewer and fewer of them.

..

so which is it? how can it be useless when 'many' still see it earn more than AS.  it m ay be useless FOR YOU, but maybe you need a different emphasis.  we can't see your portffolio so can't comment further

the fact that there may be fewer contributors doesn't mean the agency is in decline

119
...

in previous shitsstorms agencies lost a serious percentage of content, often very very good content. it is not about losing a few sunsets and hotdogs.
which agencies lost such large amounts?  SS is doing fine despite feeble attempts to 'take them down' by a few dozen artists

Quote
that ai content you like was probably created by a good ai designer. and it also requires the vision to know what exactly you want.

thanks - the ai i was referencing was my own work

Quote
editorial itself is a different market, it cannot be affected by ai.
...
you're missing the point - on SS we need to mark as editorial if it shows people. with ai, i can produce similar shots that aren't so restrictive -  eg, someone can use my generic ai of a couple (or crowd) in a cafe for an advertisement -  they couldn't do that w editorial.

another example is non-commerical use of editorial (textbooks, magazines, etc) where there's still some risk.  ai again provides those images with no  problems

so ai has the potential to knock out much editorial & model released work (and less expensive to produce)

120
Believe me, they care. Especially if we start deactivating files and ports...millions of files suddenly missing??...they care...
....

What I do see coming is that agencies might actually start to pay more for images with a real model release.
....

But real people content will always be needed, plus the ai training machine needs them too.

So real people and real content will increase in value IMO....

even a few million desertions by a tiny group of discontented artists won't matter much to any agency's bottom line.

but the real entry for AI is replacing model released images - why pay for an editorial, model released image when you can get an AI image with people who you don't need a release for?

already I have AI variations on my digital images that sell better, likely since they're not limited by being editorial. And that's with today's AI engines. they'll only get better! why would agencies pay more for a dying category, when buyers don't care about 'realism'.

Before the upload limit is imposed, the units that review real photos and AI photos should be separate. Right now, people who don't even have any visual knowledge can create AI images with a text. I guess a small percentage of the AI images submitted are accepted. I'm sure those who produce AI on this forum are doing very well. But I'm very curious how many images of someone who has a screenshot of "67k AI images waiting to be reviewed" that I saw on a different forum last week will be accepted.

Just as video, illustration, vector are different, real photos and AI photos should now be categorized separately. and reviewed separately. This way, real photos won't have to wait in the review queue for such a long time.

seems too many here, esp'ly the anti-AI folk resort to baseless personal attacks on other artists as "non-professional" or lacking in  traits, training &  knowledge that make someone a 'real ' artist without actually knowing the artist or their background

to the buyer (the only one who really counts), there's no difference between AI & camera-generated images (same argument used in the early days that digital couldn't match 'real photos.

then there are the conspiracy false claims that companies are not reviewing their more deserving images.  nonsense! agencies choose what will sell, not whether the image should hang in an art gallery.

shift happens - stop whinging & produce what sellsl today, not last week.

Seems that your wish to advocate Ai mislead you to miss the topic.
Topic is reviewing time and FACT that non Ai files much longer linger in a review limbo. ...
.....
Oh...and one more thing.
Lack of accepting other people opinion in that much measure that you call them whining says about you a lot. Way much more than you think.
Have a nice day.
pointing out logical fallacies does not mean i advocate AI (i've dabbled, but AI is a tiny portion of my portfolio &  workflow)

It's completely on topic as a response to the unsupported claims about AI effects on review time, especially your claiming as fact that AI is the cause of long review times - you've shown no actual evidence - correlation is not causation.  the lengthy reviews were a common complaint before AI made an entry and AI images can also get lost in the swamp of uploads.

i respect the opinions of others, until they present, as fact, statements they can't support with actual evidence - just SWAG guesses about review processes & agency search algorithms (aka whinging).  anecdotes don't count.

therefore from these results it emerges that I need to have an average of approximately 110% more earnings in the last 4 months of the year, compared to the last 4 months of 2023,in order to have at least 80% growth between this year and last year.

I can do it,it won't be easy, but I can still reach my goal of at least 80% more earnings between one year and another, just one strong month is enough to raise the average.

...

i hope you're right, but your needs just get greater with each month -- YOU don't have much influence on sales - you're HOPING  to get a big month but hope won't pay the rent - and expecting to repeat this year after year is just unrealistic

Weird, some people are seeing growth and others are seeing virtual collapses. Maybe it's geographic?

more likely portfolio contents - i sell many editorial images on SS but AS doesn't accept editorial

and then depends whether you concentrate on food, people, travel, etc

I have editorial on both (AS generally accepts editorial without people), ..
that's why it's so, difficult to compare - most of my editorials have people/ crowds

124
Microstock,or maybe I can just say Adobe, because for me everything depends on how things will go on Adobe.

I had a life full of satisfactions and I have lots of good memories, everything was going great, then suddenly everything changed, due to facts beyond my control, and I started in microstock.....

your choice, but i don't think going exclusive is a solid strategy, especially if you're looking to microstock as a major source of income.

one of the major factors beyond your control is the fate of individual agencies - what do you do when your extensive portfolio disappears or diminishes due to a company's decline (eg exclusives with SS)
l
it's comparable to investing all your retirement funds in a single stock.
