No, you have to create it  :)

Thanks Duncan for talking to us direct -a great example to other agencies. This may well be an additional revenue source for some contributors especially those who do not upload to print and product sites like FineArtAmerica and Redbubble. Personally, I requested the opt out as I do upload to them and like the ability to not only set my own mark up but also to change it whenever I like. I didn't want the FreeArt competing with that and certainly not by giving away 10x8 prints for nothing (the 25c I would have received doesn't really compare to $25 or more I would get at FAA).
Credit to Canstock for providing an individual opt out for this deal. Regards, David.

ETA Just received a reply to my support ticket from Duncan -confirming my opt out. Fast work!

Looks like it might be fixed. Just did my daily upload "test" and the image actually made it to the processing stage. Now for the backlog  :)

Exactly the same for me (both with IE and Chrome). Haven't been able to upload since Jan 19. Annoying because it messes up my workflow and I now have a backlog of new images I'll have to return to when they sort out the issue. Please let us know if you get a response from them. Regards, David.

More than one site partnering with them. I have editorials from 123rf there (I know this because of the specific captioning style). I'm pretty sure that Fotolia has come up before as well. Regards, David.

Here's a link to the official Corbis press release. It will be interesting to see what the new owners do with Veer.

Just checked and my expiry date also says Not Applicable (N/A). But I only updated it last year so my guess is it will say that until much nearer the renewal time and only then give an actual expiry date.

Herg, as far as I know there's no way of reversing them from free to back on sale -though there would be no harm in emailing them to ask. Assuming you do not want your images offered for free, you have the option of disabling them (they'll no longer be available for free and will then eventually auto delete). In theory, you could then re-upload them as new files -though they'd have to go through the review process again. Personally, I would check that they are OK with this first.
Worth noting perhaps that as well as the email they send you the exact same message is also posted to the "comments" area of your account on the site. Sometimes emails go astray so a regular check on comments could be worthwhile. Regards, David.

Shutterstock.com / Re: Does SS deduct something from my payment?
« on: January 06, 2016, 15:21 »
Just a thought (and we can only guess here). Usually the earning reset to zero (if you have exceeded the payout limit) on the first of each month. Because of the New Year etc mine didn't reset until a few days into the month so the total showing was including January earnings. Earnings for January 1 onwards will be paid in February.
If this isn't what has happened here then certainly contact them. Regards, David.

I keep getting emails from them updating me on the latest files of mine they have deleted from the catalogue. Mmmmm. Lovely.
Really? If this is true then they are culling the collection and taking the 4-year no sales thing further. I can expect a good chunk of files to be canned. DT really lost any ounce of respect I had for them whe they did their income redistribution thing six months ago. It cut my earnings in half.

Nothings changed for me. I still get emails giving me thirty days notice regarding non-sellers over 4 years old. I can either keep online or donate to their free section. If you do not respond to the email your chosen default action happens (keep on line in my case). You just preset this option on your account. If you do click the link on the email you get the two options there and then to choose from.
I always keep on line for the very good reason that I often get sales on older images that have never sold before (probaly more relevant to editorial images than, say, a sliced tomato on white). Regards, David.

Yaymicro / Re: YAY closing
« on: January 01, 2016, 16:23 »
They sell on other partner sites too. If they keep that going I will just stop uploading and leave the existing images there, with yay subs disabled of course. I can cash out once a year or whatever.

Good point - that I totally overlooked!

Yaymicro / Re: YAY closing
« on: January 01, 2016, 14:46 »
I would really like to know if our images will still be available for sale if we are not opted in to streaming/subscription.

For sale -where? YayMicro is now closed to image buyers (there's a redirect on the landing page) so unless you tick the opt in box for Yay Images the answer is no. I'm still trying to find out about editorial images - none of my 1700 editorials appear on the Yay Images site (despite it having an editorial category). Waiting on a response to my email regarding this. Regards, David.

Thanks for the response Jan. Could you clarify my point raised in my previous post. Will editorial images uploaded to Yay Micro be available on the Yay Images site? I cannot find mine! TIA, David.

Yaymicro / Re: YAY closing
« on: December 30, 2015, 10:00 »
There was a lot of discussion here when Yay first introduced this Yay Images subs/streaming site a couple of years ago -link here: http://www.microstockgroup.com/yaymicro/yay-newsletter-information-about-new-product/
I opted in to see what happened but, as I stated on the recent Yay Micro -is it alive? thread, I have had virtually no sales (subs or otherwise) in recent years.
I was probaly going to stop uploading anyway but had hoped the odd sale from my remaining images (circa 2400) would add up to a payout now and again.
What concerns me is that none of my editorial images (the majority of my port) appear on the Yay Images site. Though it has an Editorial and Celebrity category none of my editorials are searchable and I can only find around 700 (non editorial) images if I search on my username.
So, does this mean that all my time uploading editorials to Yay has been wasted? Hopefully, Yay will respond here with some more information.

Yaymicro / Re: Yaymicro - is it alive?

2404 (mainly editorial) files:

2015 - 0.68 euro (back in February)
2014 - 2.75 euro

Last direct sale on the Yay site (rather than a partner site) - February 2014

To quote from the original Star Trek series: "It's life Jim, but not as we know it".

It's a real shame because Yay once showed a lot of promise and I used to get payouts. It all went wrong around the start of 2013 -when I understand that Google made changes to search results, though I have no evidence that this was the reason for my decline there. Maybe it's just editorial that doesn't sell well on Yay (not helped by excluding it from their partner deals). The memory of what they once were for me and the fact that CEO Linda has always been prompt and friendly in personally dealing with any issue, has kept me uploading, but I will certainly be reviewing them in the New Year. Regards, David

Photo Critique / Re: Need critique for rejection
« on: December 06, 2015, 16:55 »
Unfortunately I don't have budget for buying the new camera  :) , so I need to maximise what I have.

Don't worry -the D80 is perfectly capable of producing images that get accepted and sell at stock agencies. I bought mine in 2007 and it is still going strong :) Congratulations at getting accepted at Shutterstock. Regards, David.

Even if they do not post on a regular basis, just about all the agencies (certainly the major ones) are signed up members here and would, therefore, be able to read anything posted in the Members only area. I'm pretty sure that they all keep an eye on what is posted here even if they don't react to it  ;) Regards, David.

123RF / Re: Standstill? Is anyone there?
« on: November 05, 2015, 07:13 »
I still have editorial images pending from August  >:( Last time this happened I had to email them which led to them being reviewed same day. Not sure what changed here -editorials used to get fast track reviews, usually within a few hours or next day at the latest. It's frustrating to just see them sit there month after month, but I really shouldn't have to contact them to make reviews happen. From memory I would say this stems from when they revamped the upload page - maybe new uploads get hidden or something? We don't seem to get the feed back on MSG from them either which they used to be good at doing. Regards, David.

Same for me. Clicked to verify but got blocked with an "Insecure" message from IE. Probaly best to avoid until SS confirm officially on their site that this is genuine.

I've had multiple sales on redbubble where I have a very small portfolio, one large sale on Crated, and have some UK friends who sell a lot on P4  - I make the most on FAA - I'm not on zazzle - that's it for my experience.

Interested to know other's experience.

Has anyone heard of eagalart? They look to be a new Canadian site.

What's P4?

Elena, I assume Wordplanet is referring to www.photo4me.com(a British POD site). I have no experience of them so cannot add any opinion of them. Kind regards, David.

Shutterstock.com / Re: Shutterstock ID
« on: October 08, 2015, 13:49 »
No, my driving licence is current until I am 74. I considered getting a photo driving licence as they only cost 17, but you need a passport as ID if you want to swop to a photo driving licence! Also, like you, I would have to renew again in 10 years time, if I changed to a photo licence.

It's 20 now, but other documents (e.g. Birth/Marriage certificates etc) can be used - you do not need a passport to get a photo driving license. Personally, I would consider 20 a price well worth paying to be selling on Shutterstock but that's obviously your decision. Kind regards, David.

Adobe Stock / Re: Will Fotolia Ever Have Editorial Content?
« on: September 13, 2015, 14:12 »
Considering they are the only agency in the Big 4 and Middle Tier ranking not to offer editorial to their customers I would have expected them to have come to this eventually. Why leave money on the table? What makes it seem much more likely to me is Scott Braut joining Adobe. Coming from Shutterstock, Scott will know only too well the demand for editorial stock images. Regards, David.

123RF / Re: 123rf - reviewed status for 12 days now ?
« on: July 30, 2015, 06:27 »
I can beat that ;D I had two batches of uploads pending from the end of May/start of June until today. Emailed support today (with the file #) and got a reply within minutes saying they would be assigned to a reviewer. Couple of hours later they have just been reviewed (and accepted). Credit to 123RF for responding to and acting on my email very promptly.
This subject came up before on MSG and I remember that the answer was that large batches of images get priority -smaller batches get left. Not sure what the reasoning was behind that - but there it is. Hope you get your images reviewed soon. Kind regards, David.
