New Sites - General / Re: bigwhitebox

I've had a sale on here. Yup, 2 quid commission. Unfortunately as of yesterday they had only sold a total of 61 photos, so at this pace, I can expect a payout in 2012...

Question: how are the sales there? I don't mind joining a new site and giving someone an affiliate benefit, but I've gone to a lot of trouble before with absolute crap sites like Gimmestock (0 sales, 4 months), ScanStockPhoto (1 sale, 9 months), Crestock (0 sales, 4 months) and TotallyPhotos (0 sales, 4 months) so I'd like to know that I'm actually putting in the effort to send pics, keyword and all for a purpose. I don't expect a payout every month like I do on iStock and Shutterstock, but one needs motivation to keep going, eh?

kacper - have you joined Featurepics.  If not do so.  Quick to do, good acceptances, 70% commissions and you set the prices.  In my opinion it is ideal for what you are doing (better than the othersites anyway).

If you haven't joined yet, feel free to use my link -> Featurepics

StockXpert.com / Re: How is StockXpert doing for you?

This site's been a true miracle. I applied AGES ago, but got initially rejected and kind of... forgot about it. I reapplied last week, had my almost entire portfolio (300 images) accepted, and had 10 sales within 4 days (including a weekend). True, can't judge performance by first 4 days, but I'm impressed. They are EXTREMELY quick with approvals. I FTP'd over 300 images, so I was stuck in the StockXpert briefcase moving 50 images a day. Pretty much an hour after shoving the images over they'd be approved.

So my personal accolades to StockXpert. Nice customer service, fast approvals, high commission and (so far... knock on wood) decent sales.

iStockPhoto.com / Is it just me?

Or is iStock really starting to suck big time? Lowest commission of all sites, big corporate sell-outs, massively censored forums, FREE use of OUR images on blogs with no benefit to the photographer, ridiculous favoritizing of exclusive photogs, the louziest affiliation program of all. It used to be my best selling site providing a serious payout every single month, but now I'm considering dropping it entirely! It's still a good money maker, but with Dreamstime and Fotolia catching on fire, I might not need those couple hundred dollars each month from the big ugly monster.

It's a huge mistake if you ask me. On my site I've had my entire portfolio linking to individual images on Dreamstime, because I actually got "impulse" buys of images through my site (a couple dozen to date). Now I'm going to replace it with links to another site. Definitely not Shutterstock nor Istock, but I'm thinking Fotolia or BigStock as they create highest commissions per sale after Dreamstime.

Oh well, too bad.
