As for the guy with the humongous portfolio ....I think he found a niche...and since he somehow can take pics of the plant, (which obvioulsy is not something anyone has access to) he is just looking for some exponential growth....If you sort his portfolio by popular image, you will see the top ones are the plant...then you see the text. and he is just doing text overlays and so on... by the way he has a facebook page...if you see on his profile. I think he is just being smart making the most of his photos...

The best thing is to post a link to your portfolio, or some images from it, because there are different types of illustrations, styles that might or might not fit in here...You said home decor market...I'm not sure... It all depends on the style/type of work you do....without seeing it, is hard to tell if you could do well in microstock or macro, or even trying to get a traditional agent.
..usually people use the term "licensing" instead of selling when it comes to editorial or commercial use.

this guy is an interesting one Because, it seems he knows how to draw...but..still he gets stuff from your work and put on his work???
If you google his name, you will find his website, where he claims he is a graphic designer, and he creates most of his work in Inkscape...and he is in the Czech Republic. The first page is in english the of the pages in czech.
But, what are the stock companies saying to you? Are they investigating or they find this okay?

If you were approached, that means your images or illustrations must be really great...you caught their attention. Resale rights, do you know if these are these perpetual rights, once you deal with them, the image is theirs forever to distribute? If you need someday to remove a single image, will you be able to? Another thing to look at: What does their Royalty Free License Agreement to the buyer says? Do you know??? Check that out and see what limitations they put on the buyer...Or they let the buyer do whatever they wan t-- such as --can the buyer use on logos, print on demand sites, stuff for resale, templates for resale, is there a limit print run, do they limit the image on "sensitive subjects' and so on? I take this is a "one time" payment for the rights you give? Let us know... Hi, I have been contacted by a new microstock agency for selling resale rights of a large batch of my images already online on major stock sites. Is this legally correct? I am not sure what to do.

Hi Salahhh If you feel like you have real talent for drawing and design and you are passionated about it, so much you have to draw every single day, just do it and put a lot of files there. But, if you just draw occasionally and only simple things - you might be disappointed with results. Nowadays is volume and high quality images. However, if you have a part time job, and that means, no money worries, then you can still try designing, but you will have to try harder...Or you could try a different area. You went away for studies??? What did you go to school for? I'd quit at that time due to studies And travel. So after exactly one year(thx for the reminder) i'm Back again. I'm Right Now With 200 images but still reluctant whether to keep the pace or not.

Hi, now that's interesting...I was already opted out of the alliances, just checked.... My images are on the sites, but they are not available through these sites, they are in a format that when you click to buy, it goes to the dreamstime page, and on the stockfree images it shows the thumbnail but it says is only available on dreamstime....So I guess, if is all connected to dreamstime, I don't have to worry... Yes, they are partners and or distributors. You can opt out if you wish - http://www.dreamstime.com/alliances
All partnerships are required to follow the usage rights of our terms and conditions. Sales that occur on our own site award the royalties from the sale price. Some of these partnerships will award the regular 25-60% royalties to the contributor from the agency's share, while other alliances will still award them based on the sale price. This flexibility allows us to reward our partners for their considerable technical and marketing investments in presenting Dreamstime content to new markets, increasing images exposure and expanding the number of buyers. Remote third party prices are credit based and subscription downloads are not available on their websites. Extended licensing is available and updates are made in real time or in 24 hours maximum. Buyers referred by third parties channels who use our site to download images have access to all payment plans available at the purchase date (credit based, monthly subscription, referral program, extended licenses etc).
stockfreeimages is where your images are moved to if after 4 years they have no sales or if they are images that fail the review but meet some minimum requirements for the free section (if you click that box when you upload). Along with free images that site also features other images that when clicked on take you to the main DT site where you can buy them at DT prices. They like to say that free images increase one's portfolio exposure but I don't want that kind of exposure. All it does is increase the idea that stock imagery is, or should be dirt cheap. I won't give my images away for free but many do. After 4 years I delete my non-sellers. I know many disagree saying you never know when an image might sell but with so many images on the site it probably can't be found in a search anyway. I wish more people would delete loser images and help weed out the drek.

Hi guys, I received a request from dreamstime to sell rights to an image I only have uploaded there.....but by doing a reverse image serach I saw the image in two sites Im not a contributor to. however these seem connected to "dreamstime", they have a "powered by dreamstime" and links go to the dreamstime page ....so I'm wondering if that is just a sort of referral type of site, so no worries there? http://www.clearerimages.comhttp://www.stockfreeimages.com

Hard to tell...if you look into the agreement, it says "s Web site shall be governed by the laws of the Sighetul Marmatiei and the federal laws of Romania a" and if you look at the CEO address, is in Tujunga, CA , I guess thats califonia? So.....You can take your guess... Anybody know anything about this site? They only have 229 images. Can't tell if there is a review process. Where are they are located?

I don't think this will make a dent in the microstock industry.... Probably a lot of creatives in third world countries that can not afford to buy from the top ones, because the dollar sometimes is like 4 x their own currency might be benefiting from this type of deal... What bothered me about this site is that it is being promoted by Kelbyone. Kelby has been very successful and if he is behind it, that could be bad news for the industry. They certainly have a budget for advertising so its concerning.
I don't know what they were charging before and even though they only have 300K images its more than enough for small media companies who are looking to save money on content. I believe the majority of buyers of stock are small media companies.

Hi, thats an interesting site...however looking at the licensing page, I can't understand how you would make money because they only name a creative commons license where someone can pay you but doesnt' have to, and a public domain license? https://thenounproject.com/handbook/upload/#curation

Try different browsers....I was on a Mac and had trouble with that too....but changing browsers worked for me. I am trying to complete the tax interview, but on the last page, the W-9 submit button is not lit for me to be able to submit.
Any thoughts?

IN latin america? Can you translate that to "latin american"? in latin america, we call it the "curse of the entitlement generation". it is difficult to convince someone who never understand the value of having to work a living. no surprise as i am sure most microstock clients and agencies like ss, is,etc.. were weaned on "entitlement" . except when they drink coffee, which is paid anyway but mom/dad credit card

Has anyone got an invitation to try it out?
I don't know what this is going to be mean for contributors...I was just curious to see...
However it is a subscription monthly plan and cost for each head on a team... $12.95 or yearly commitment is down to $9.95 per month.

Hi, Do you want a realistic opinion? If so, I would say $10 dollars every 6 months with the current portfolio, being optimistic here. You need to improve, study more. For instance, you need at least be able to spell correctly...What does "Christems Sales" mean? Is it Christmas? https://www.fotolia.com/id/87541568This doesn't look like it was made in USA, the flag is messed up. https://www.fotolia.com/id/88128339To Update you all, I've now manged to upload 132 vector, photos on my Port so please go through my work again & give me an estimate of sale per day.
The link: https://www.fotolia.com/p/205687351
Thank you!

What if you close your account with Canva...and a designer saved your image? and a year later, they decide to hit buy? Well, is not only on canva that images get stuck on buyers' layouts....It seems to happen on these systems where the customer can save a design for later ... One example of this is Zazz le. You can delete a product but if a buyer bought once, they can reorder forever... There is also an area where layouts get "saved" ...If you as a buyer began to customize a layout and decide not to buy, it will stay saved there until you delete. I got a sale from a deleted design...That's my understanding.

The customers buy from Istock, shutterstock so on....I dont' think they care for the name...and yes, there are some freaky nicknames out there.
Some people use nicknames because they don't want people to know they produce work that can be had for a few bucks or cents, while they are doing custom work for their own clients and charging a decent amount of money...They would rather have their real name associated with the latter.
Other people want to be known by their microstock work, or don't care about using their own real name.

Hi, your portfolio has more game graphic assets, sprites, from what I saw on Behance...that's very game oriented.... Unfortunately that is not the style that is easy to sell on microstock companies.
IN microstock anything can sell, but most buyers are using a different style of illustration on advertisign campaigns, webdesign, print design, editorial, magazines, brochures etc...
I think your sprites could sell in markets where you find people developing games...Gamesalad used to have a marketplace to sell your type of work, google that and see if they still allow users to sell their graphics....They have a forum, look for the thread "art wanted", where a lot of indie developers are looking for graphics for their games.
