Adorama accepted my pre-order. I like them a lot, much better used items selection than BH. No affiliation

The moment I hit a payout it's gone from the microstock site and on its way to paypal. The nice side effect is that I can start collecting interest 3.2%pa immediately. That way if the account is hijacked there is nothing to take home for the thief.

He probably got a press pass from OlyPanSony to show that their brand spanking new 16-600mm subcompact camera is just as good as the lenses that these idiots brought to the Olympics.

HAHAHAHAHAHA

Good find Bateleur. He actually has a little one in his hands - I think.

Perhaps they want to steer vectors into the illustration category??

... Most people would search for photos.
And all they get is illustrations.

this situation is aggravated by the fact that at IS Illustrators have to pass a second application so anybody who does not pass or does not want to pass simply uploads under "Image". IS does not have "Photo" submission !! what.

The problem is, that the buyer can not select for/against vectors only Photos and/or Illustrations. My best image that used to be on page 1 for a one word photo search is now on page 7 and is being buried under extremely repetitive illustration renders that are accepted as photos - even though no camera was involved in their creation.

It seems shocking how little Alamy is beeing used by Non-english publishing journals. Wow. I would not have suspected this omission since they have many good pictures but perhaps the difficulty to search through the enormous picture heap is an effective deterrent for picture buyers.

What if it was a copyright violation eg. "the green point" from Germany is copyrighted and the copyright holder or representative contacted SS demanding removal. All SS needs to do is inform the creator of removal or give him/her a chance to convert to editorial licence. Brutal policy implementation on the part of SS. Guilty until proven otherwise. Reduces their liability. Shoot first ask questions later.

I though that it was forbbiden to take pictures at events like concerts. Are you authorized to sell this kind of photos (even under editorial licence) ?

If your ticket specifically forbids commercial use of images or the capture of all still and video images - the answer is yes.
If you have a press pass the answer is no.
If your ticket was the generic kind from a roll "Admit 1" or no tickets were required (free event) it probably is a possibility that it is likely that perhaps if nobody says anything otherwise you could sell these images - in short if nobody takes you to court it's fine;)

Psst. Do not tell anybody. Nikon 20/3.5 Ai with adapter on Canon. Using it on 5D:). close focus - nice.

Sorry Peter, just lightening the mood.

Perhaps nobody looks at FT images anymore?

Just kidding. The views were fake anyways. Got you again.

It's the first time and low popularity DLs that keep me at an even keel. Too many XSmall though. The popular files (Designer best starting materials) are taking a beating. 2 high earning days ($17) this month prevent the worst. VERY variable $/DL days eg. 8DL for $17 are followed by 8 DLs for 5.70. Summer sux for growing earnings.

Clear case of designitis and illustritis. Very infectious - transmitted mostly through vectorus tutorialis. Watch out.

Anybody has that happen? Timeline experience. Should I add to my description clarifying that similar photos are already in their database?

Thanks

I guess we dodged a bullet this time. Dodging a bullet - hmmm where is my Super high speed camera to show someone dodging a bullet. I guess that shot is reserved for the macros because the micros are going to say. "bullet out of focus - limited commercial value"  ;D

Relax ... actually only IS is down for the moment ;)

SS is easy  to time the payout - just raise the payout to an amount that you did not reach that month and once you are exclusive lower it for payout that month to 75.
#123
Ahh, that's why grunge images are everywhere.

Thanks hatman. It certainly affected my bestsellers. I guess I just have to upload more XL then.
