I have just got a lot of sales on Shutterstock in few minutes (10 times more than usual) 10 minutes ago.
I am not very happy when I have not a lot of sales, but when they are so much more than usual I always suspect that somebody is buying them to built on his own portfolio
Same here, lots of sales today. Big spike compared to normal days. Haven't had a 0 sales day this month though.

My experience with Graphicstock was very bad. I wouldn't trust them as far as I could spit them.
Unless they have new owners, I'm not going anywhere near them.

The AfterCodecs plugin lets you encode to ProresHQ422 for free (up to 20 s of video).
But yes, forget about iStock. Why upload anything there? The royalties are terrible and they have priced HD and 4K the same. It's a total disgrace.
i will think about that, a friend sell well is 4k on IS, but no sale so fare on SS and AS... so what's the best, no sale or few sales with higher commission or sell a lot for lower commission??? it's a big question and need more reflexion! I'm new on stock, i just uploaded 2 4k on IS 2 weeks ago, i have to 2 sales...
Well, iStock is a sinking ship, despite you and your friend's sales. Selling video on iStock devalues video, and possibly takes away sales on better platforms which net you more, plus it makes iStock/Getty stronger while they treat us like crap. Do could you tell me how much those two sales netted you?

Three whole days? Sounds like a simple fluctuation to me. It may not happen much, but statistically it's very possible to happen once in a while.

I don't worry about GraphicStock, if the marketplace is the same as the Videoblocks marketplace (i.e. 100% royalties on a pay per download basis).
But I don't want DP to sell there on my behalf, I'd rather sell directly.
Is there a way to opt out? Where can I find the opt-out button?

As long as they're not culling portfolios, I think it's a good way to deviate from the competitor. You shouldn't blindly accept every piece of crap image, although when an agency fails to bring in any sales, it seems a bit arrogant to be so tight about content quality.

The next level is calculated based on lifetime earnings, and yes, this includes all types of stock formats (illustration, photo, video, etc.)
If you reach $3K in lifetime earnings, the next level should be effective almost immediately, as far as I know.

It's not fake, those are actual people! Some of the spectators were ahead of their time. T-shirts weren't exactly fashionable back then, but some commoners thought 'to hell with long sleeves, these short sleeves are going to be popular someday'.

So seems I stock is having an issueeither the July payment. Anyone else having issues? Also at this point are they responsible for any loss that happens due to their lack of payment?
What kind of loss are you talking about? Are you in debt because iStock didn't pay you?

I don't know how they apply these new watermarks, but I have noticed that some of them are really "wavy"
Which is a good thing. No watermark is the same which makes it harder for auto-removal tools to properly do their job.

Yes to both and it's automatic now. Of course it takes a little longer for them to use the abacus, and sharp pencils cost more. But you'll get paid 2-3 months after you actually earn the money.
And this is probably the only real iStock improvement in these last 10 years
Not if they abuse that feature to hold onto your money for a whole extra month.

Haven't checked it out, but I never liked the old forums, mainly because of the separate 'zones' for Europe and USA. As if I wasn't allowed to talk to contributors from other continents. So I'm glad this has changed.

Even teachers don't *really* get a whole month off. They spend a lot of their free time correcting exams or tests, preparing lessons for the next school year, etc.

with such stats i imagine your folio....really I'm still puzzled why agency accept portfolio that clearly are not brilliant...what's the point of adding infinitely portfolio who doesn't add anything to the industry but only manage to "steal" some sales for other contributor?
they want rf to have only amateur? because this is the way industry is going and is reflected by the quality of new submission.
If it doesn't add anything to the industry, why would you be afraid of losing sales to less than brilliant portfolios? Assuming the amount of content is increasing anyway, I'd rather see more inferior portfolios than superior portfolios. Otherwise it's tougher competition. But we haven't seen this guy's portfolio, so why jump to conclusions?

If you can easily submit there with little to no work, why not upload there? If the amount of work doesn't weigh up against the number of sales, don't do it.
