Adobe is terrible when it comes to payment options for their software.

General Stock Discussion / Re: Shutterstock (No sales in (8) Days.« on: August 09, 2017, 16:30 »I have just got a lot of sales on Shutterstock in few minutes (10 times more than usual) 10 minutes ago. Same here, lots of sales today. Big spike compared to normal days. Haven't had a 0 sales day this month though. 1003
General Stock Discussion / Re: GraphicStock Has It Right« on: August 05, 2017, 14:16 »My experience with Graphicstock was very bad. I wouldn't trust them as far as I could spit them. Could you elaborate on this? 1004
iStockPhoto.com / Re: 4k videos on IS« on: August 05, 2017, 14:00 »The AfterCodecs plugin lets you encode to ProresHQ422 for free (up to 20 s of video). Well, iStock is a sinking ship, despite you and your friend's sales. Selling video on iStock devalues video, and possibly takes away sales on better platforms which net you more, plus it makes iStock/Getty stronger while they treat us like crap. Do could you tell me how much those two sales netted you? 1005
General Stock Discussion / Re: Shutterstock--No Sales in Three Days.« on: August 04, 2017, 12:39 »
Three whole days? Sounds like a simple fluctuation to me. It may not happen much, but statistically it's very possible to happen once in a while.

But yes, forget about iStock. Why upload anything there? The royalties are terrible and they have priced HD and 4K the same. It's a total disgrace. 1007
DepositPhotos / Re: Graphicstock! WARNING!!!!!« on: August 04, 2017, 07:46 »
I don't worry about GraphicStock, if the marketplace is the same as the Videoblocks marketplace (i.e. 100% royalties on a pay per download basis).
But I don't want DP to sell there on my behalf, I'd rather sell directly. Is there a way to opt out? Where can I find the opt-out button? 1008
StockFresh / Re: Stockfresh email about new curation standards« on: August 01, 2017, 17:03 »
As long as they're not culling portfolios, I think it's a good way to deviate from the competitor. You shouldn't blindly accept every piece of crap image, although when an agency fails to bring in any sales, it seems a bit arrogant to be so tight about content quality.

Shutterstock.com / Re: Shutterstock payout levels« on: August 01, 2017, 11:19 »
The next level is calculated based on lifetime earnings, and yes, this includes all types of stock formats (illustration, photo, video, etc.)
If you reach $3K in lifetime earnings, the next level should be effective almost immediately, as far as I know. 1010

Adobe Stock / Animated videos rejected for technical reasons, but why?« on: July 28, 2017, 16:00 »
I was just checking up on some animations I uploaded to Fotolia several days ago, but to my surprise all 5 were rejected for 'technical reasons'.
Shutterstock accepted the videos, and I've checked the file for errors but I couldn't find any. Since it took me some time to render them I really want them online. It's a looping 3D animation of skyscrapers, 4K resolution, ProRes HQ. The loop is seamless (I checked twice) and there are no artifacts of any kind. So maybe someone could point me in the right direction; am I missing something here? https://www.shutterstock.com/video/clip-29115475-stock-footage-seamlessly-loopable-animation-of-modern-corporate-skyscrapers-with-reflective-blue-windows-the.html 1012
Pond5 / Re: POND5 Vintage Collection 1864 Abe Lincoln Film« on: July 28, 2017, 14:40 »
Apparently, the pioneer filmmaker got his film stock labels messed up. The 1864 parade is suddenly set 4 years earlier. Unless it was a very long and boring parade lasting 4 years.

Some of the spectators were ahead of their time. T-shirts weren't exactly fashionable back then, but some commoners thought 'to hell with long sleeves, these short sleeves are going to be popular someday'. 1014

Shutterstock.com / Re: New watermarks - anyone see an example?« on: July 26, 2017, 05:26 »I don't know how they apply these new watermarks, but I have noticed that some of them are really "wavy" Which is a good thing. Adobe Stock / Re: Fotolia forum is moving« on: July 25, 2017, 14:41 »
Haven't checked it out, but I never liked the old forums, mainly because of the separate 'zones' for Europe and USA. As if I wasn't allowed to talk to contributors from other continents. So I'm glad this has changed.

General Stock Discussion / Re: Slower Sales starts soon for us« on: July 21, 2017, 04:38 »I don't think many people in Europe get a month off either. Maybe only teachers? iStockPhoto.com / Re: June statement is here« on: July 21, 2017, 01:53 »
Slightly higher than May, but still disappointing. Total expected revenue will be even less than last year. I'll be earning the same amount as I did in 2011...

Newbie Discussion / Re: My first two month stats« on: July 20, 2017, 11:11 »Hi, i'm happy with my first stats (I started in May 2017)... It's encouraging to see people buying my photos that were sleeping in my hard drive! If it doesn't add anything to the industry, why would you be afraid of losing sales to less than brilliant portfolios? Assuming the amount of content is increasing anyway, I'd rather see more inferior portfolios than superior portfolios. Otherwise it's tougher competition. But we haven't seen this guy's portfolio, so why jump to conclusions? 1022

General Stock Discussion / Re: Wisdom of submitting to 10 Microstock Agencies« on: July 14, 2017, 16:02 »
If you can easily submit there with little to no work, why not upload there? If the amount of work doesn't weigh up against the number of sales, don't do it.
