It sounds like someone uploaded your content to A/F without holding copyright. When notified, A/F deleted the account.
So, what's the problem?

Why does IS put that horrendous gradient over every image ( on my phone )?

Great post! Until the promotion of CM. After their licensing terms fiasco coupled with their inability to understand copyrighted/trademarked content, I pulled everything from there. But glad to see your success. I think these kind of connections come easier to illustrators than photographers, just because of the flexibility in working with the content. Wish I could draw

"Contributors are required to keep at least seventy (60%) percent of their portfolio online with Lifeographies.com for a period of at least one (1) year. You may disable all files older than six months from the date of review at any time. You will be allowed to disable a total of thirty (40%) percent of your total Media submitted within the past one (1) year. Media that was disabled and then enabled again will be counted as new submissions, no matter of their original upload date."
Come on. Really?
If you think that's bad, look at Canva, for instance, You cannot delete content from there, ever, and that's a lot longer than twelve months..
Canva's a bit of a different bird though. As a design tool, it's not really different than a buyer already having licensed it and having it on their desktop. You certainly can't call that back, so you can't really call back content already licensed through their interface. "You have the right to remove any of your Stock Media from our Service at any time for any reason. Canva will use reasonable efforts to cause the Stock Media, including any additional versions such as Cut Outs (as defined below), to be removed from the Service and affiliated or partner websites within sixty (60) days of your deactivation of such Stock Media. However, you agree that any licenses issued by Canva in respect of any Stock Media that is removed from the Service will remain in full force and effect under the terms of that license."

I'm not sure it qualifies as "redistribution" as far as an EL goes, or at least I'd be annoyed if you tried to raise prices on it if it were me. Essentially, instead of them designing these display videos by hand and giving them to the client (regular license), the software "designs" the video. It's a tough call. It's almost like a template, but it only has one use for their client. But it would be the reason for someone to buy the software - that it has the videos included. Hmmmmm....

You know I did even consider that but trust me I know what I'm doing and not a total retard.
Unlike the "artistes" who shoot trees and random leaves and rubbish.
The shots were exactly what they wanted and framed very well of subjects in Europe.

This isn't about your surface tension image that we had the whole big long thread about?

So, no specialist agency was interested in taking this one image then?

Great transparency, Mat, and we're sure happy to see the market moving "the other way" for once.

"There is nothing new in traditional stock industry, but you can create new ideas in your content, and for that you must contribute in order to be visibile and sell. "
There are new things, actually. Look at Canva, for instance. If we 'create new ideas' in our content, there's plenty of places it can already go.

Are you just advertising your site, or looking for contributors?
Contributors are tired of "credits" and "subscriptions". They're just a way of hiding how little the photographer gets paid.
I don't see any unique selling point - why people would want to use the site. It's just another collection of images on a wordpress shop-isle themed site.

Just got an email about a survey on the contributor process. It's from shutterstockmail.com , which seems a little dodgy, although it does lead to a google docs survey. Is that domain really SS?

Does it say somewhere in your account?
Check "My Credits".
An extra video sale for me.
Thanks! I got $23 and change.

I've dropped back to January 2015 levels, but at least a slight bounce back from last month. Shutterstock, unfortunately, has dropped 50% in six months.

But few sites that will accept them.
I like Danny Boyle's use of vertical clips in his montages. I can see where they might be useful. What sites take them?
We have some on Stocksy. https://www.stocksy.com/1230661

I'm sure that's what you meant, but just to clarify.... you want 16:9 footage. We don't want you uploading portrait videos!
Not necessarily. There are buyers for vertical videos.

Absolutely not. No site allows redistribution.

You made your first post something we already knew and some conjecture?

I read that but I'm unclear.. this is the man claiming his picture as his identity. My model does not wish to be associated with someone else's activities. Bigstock says it plainly - you can't use it as a profile pic.
Stock is all about associating an image with something. Get used to the idea. But yes, it depends where they got it from. Some expressly prohibit a certain thing and others don't. How in all the world did you find this one image being used this way?

You don't get to know that.

Cheers, Mat. I'm sure it's just some UI oversight.

Well, I have to imagine most buyers aren't trying to search through a single contributor's port trying to find a certain image or video.
