litifeta... I like BigStock, and am doing okay, not my largest seller, but steady {at the moment SS is selling best for me}. I am happy with my 98% plus approval with BigStock, the reviewers are easy to work with. It is also a relatively easy site to load to. I believe BigStock also has one of the lowest payout limits {correct me if I'm wrong on that, fellow forum folk}. Welcome to the gang!

Shut my mouth!! Pretty sad when you have to prove yourself wrong.... all that complaining I did above.... yeah, they only took 5 pix, but then, the first day they were posted I sold 2 of them... go figure... I suppose I'll slap some more up there on 123.

You ARE correct IRC, your point a factual one. It would stand to reason that designers all have favorite sites and depending upon their needs and what they download from those sites, that site will determine what will and what won't sell for them. I was really just ranting. However, what I submited was a broad spectrum of shots from landscape to isolateds to people. The rejection was not of any particular type... appeared really, random. I don't know. If I knew what they didn't want in a particular type of shot, I'd not upload them, but when I have no clue... what's a newbie to do? I'll take your advice and shoot them another batch of 10 or 15 and see what flies and what nose-dives. One thing for sure, it IS easy to upload there! Thanks for the counsel. -tom

Well they were sure precise with me. Not really.... I signed up with them this past weekend, sent in my 10 trial shots. I got an email this morning, 5 accepted, 5 rejected. I've no problem with rejection, I know I'm not Ansel Adams. Not even USPS took everything I offered. Yes, they actually rejected one. That's cool, I understand rejection. But, naturally, when going with a new outfit, I selected my 10 highest sellers on SS, StockXpert, DT, LO & BS (and one of them was even selling on USPS). You get my point, these pix sell for me like hotcakes, my creme of the crop. However, 123's reason for rejection, "Limited commercial value"
SS, StockXpert, DT, LO, & BS might beg to differ. Oh well, it's their site and their call. However, I'm thinking at this point about just deleting the whole batch and walking away. If I'm going to run a 50% rejection on my hottest selling pix, what's the point of uploading my portfolio?

I too had a 110. I used it at times when I didn't want to risk my 35mm (on a canoe trip, dirt track racing, stuff like that) Mine was not waterproof. I've not personally seen the film carts anywhere in years& years although as IRC mentioned you can probably find it somewhere online. As leaf reported, it is a very tiny footprint. At the time I was shooting slides exclusively. With a slide, you could blow it up the size of the livingroom wall and it still looked pretty nice. Prints, not so. Nice little point & shoot, still have mine in a box in the attic. I'll tell you, I beat the living daylights out of that camera, bona-fide camera abuse, yet it always took a nice shot for me.

Lizard, as Elvis often said, "Thank ya, thank ya very much!". Perhaps if I keep my mouth shut and fix the typos, I won't appear to be such a big idiot!

I'm wishing there was a way to edit keywords and/or descriptions... I've got to stop uploading at midnight and 1 in the morning.. I've gone back and found typo's that make me look like an uneducated idiot. Maybe I should make a point of proof reading everything a dozen times... One thing about LO is that you CAN go back and edit. But I don't see that you're allowed on most other sites... or am I missing something? Please, educate me. There are too a few pix here and there that I put up when I first got into the biz that I'd like to take off myself. But, if there are ways to edit on SS, DT, BS and others, I'd sure like to know how.

I run around 75% approval with DT. The majority of rejections have been "well covered subect" "too many on site now" and the bulk of those have been landscape shots. My largest sellers there are interiors. For me, landscapes and landscapes with people in them sell very well at SS. -tom

I have a small 'folio there as the majority of my offerings were rejected, even though they sell well at SS, DT, BS, StockXpert, and others. But even of what I have there, no sales in a looooooooong time. Hence I have not uploaded there in over a month. My greatgrand children might, ...might, see a check. I'm jamming my stuff where it's selling. -tom

First, let me say, I personally have been down the USPhotoStock fiasco road along with many others here. And... being that it was my first site to upload to... and since, I've sold only 4 pictures (since ?july?)...... that all being said, I know it will sound odd for me to say.. that their display of the subject picture searched for is great! It is very large and sharp. I think Lucky Oliver displays great as well. But to cover my backside, that's about all I can say positive about USPS. okay, let me have it............... LOL

Steady sales for me on SS through November. One thing that always strikes me odd is that the flow continues through the weekends on SS in my case. Not so on other sites.

yeah.... info on paypal would be appreciated. I have signed up everywhere for a check payout. I just got an email from SS informing me that if I wanted a check, I'd have to wait until $300 payout. At .25 cents a pic, that's a ways down the road for me. Guess I have to get into the 21st century and go paypal.

Oh Yeah!! You go!! That first sell beats the first upload!! I'm 58, yet the first sale I made, I was jumping around the house like a 10 year old kid!! ha ha ha ha ha... But then, you get a second and third and soon, there's a check in the mail. The secret is to keep it fun!! Don't let it turn into that dirty four-lettered word,
"work".

Last couple of weeks with StockXpert has not been bad with me. I did get off to a rough start, even got nailed for 'keyword spamming' ( which I don't feel was correct - use the same keywords everywhere). None-the-less, even in that rejection, I just 'cleaned up' the keywords and resubmitted and the pix were accepted. I do like the turn-around time. I've uploaded and gone back in an hour and the pix were approved! I have been able to work with the reviewers there. Couple of pix were rejected for "improve cropping". I did, uploaded again, and within hours, the pix were on the board! I generally upload there in sessions of 10 pix at a time. Lately, I've been hitting 100% acceptance. I guess we all have ups and downs with all the sites. Right now, I'm on an 'up' with StockXpert.

Just echoing berryspun with my experience. Some batches took forever (weeks). But in all fairness, lately, I've been getting reviewed in as little as 12 hours. As you can imagine just by looking at the quantities you yourself are uploading, the folks at LO are loaded with work, not only reviewing all those massive submissions, but doing major work on upgrading the site! I think Bryan and the gang are doing a heck of a job. My experience with LO has been great!!

I can't complain about BigStock at all. My sales are up in November..so far. I'm happy with my 99.3% approval, out of the 117 submitted pix, only 2 rejections and 1 currently waiting a model release. I can't complain about them at all. I will continue to upload with BigStock.

Sweet weapon of choice, Leaf!! Been eye-balling that myself, but the budget is only allowing a 30d. Maybe when I pay off the Chevy Suburban... LOL!
