DeepMeta is alive - istock is dead - very few sales - probably most sales are this unspectacular $0,0000000001 South Korea sales
Are these Connect? Or ...? I have only a very few South Korea sales (not surprisingly), and they each netted me 25c. Every one of my Connect sales is designated as Region: California and every one of my 'Rev Share Ad Based' sales, which seems to be the extremely few Connect files which have aggregated sales to over a cent is designated as Region: Washington.

Of all the conspiracy theories I've read on here over the years, this one is the most bizarre. For the moment, I'll put it down to stupidity rather than malice. (Though I have to wonder why they don't change it now that the spam effect has been pointed out on their forums so many times.)
I love you too Shady......
Ooops, I see now that that was ambiguous. I was meaning that I'd ascribe Alamy's senseless discoverability bar to stupidity rather than malice. Followed by a big dose of stubbornness, and not wanting to 'back down'. Several of the agencies have the same failing. I find your opinion bizarre, but you are perfectly entitled to it.

In my humble opinion this is Alamy's way of getting "social" information from you that they can sell to other businesses

If you add more info. in the Optional section, it can turn green
Location, Category, Further info. etc....
Only if you also have a high number of keywords. Consider this: if a file has 50 nonsense keywords, viz not just spam, but completely made-up words, the bar will turn green and the file will be deemed to have 'high discoverability'. NB: I do not advocate this!

I am an iStock contributor. Sales reports show how many sales are available through gettyimages, but I can't see my content on gettyimages. Does only iStock exclusive content appear on both sites? I'm waiting for your help.
Yes, only exclusive, and then only editorial (which aren't labelled as such, but as "iStock unreleased" and 'creative' content which the inspectors deem special enough. Exclusive iS content sold via Getty gets us 20%, even those who still manage to get 40% on iS. But don't worry, all content over iS and Getty can be sold for sub-cent amounts to Connect buyers (a pay-per-view deal which seldom remits to us) and all content can be sold via their premium access scheme, usually for very low amounts.
Thank you very much for your reply. What is the reason why the IS content generator's content doesn't appear on Getty?
As I said above, it's only certain iS-exclusive content which gets mirrored on Getty.
I was actually wondering where exactly "connect buyers" bought my content
As I said above, all Connect buyers have access to files across Gettyimages, iStock and Thinkstock.

Yes, 4242 on best match, 88 on Newest or Most Popular - same for each and a very random selection of my most recent sales right back to some scanned slides from 2007! Added: Using filters is affecting (probably) everyone's search numbers, not just within our own ports, and is mentioned in their Help forum.

No, it's just a stupid thing which encourages spam. Note that even their own exemplar video only has 15 keywords on the example file: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_DeGewd73uwAt the moment, and for a couple of years at least, the caption has at least equal, probably more, weighting in searches (that could change). And as always, any word from the caption can be linked with any keyword to muck up a search. For example I get searches for west Africa, because I have images from 'South West Madagascar' (an official region) which is in the caption, and Africa is in the keywords. Both of these are correct, but West Africa is a false 'hit' for these files. It's the way their system works.

Also from what I see, for me, only IS gets the new uploads moving instantly.
Wow, totally opposite to me! My new uploads disappear into the abyss, and in a double whammy, my bestsellers one by one suddenly* disappear from the first page to lower than page ten on their most likely search term and stop selling. *It is always sudden, never a gradual slide. As you suggest, we are all depending on the lottery of getting high value Getty sales.

How'd ya do?
How did you do? For me, earnings down 26% on last May, 76% down on my best May ever (2010). First time my Alamy earnings for a month beat my iStock earnings (by c30%).

You are resurrecting really old threads. Sales threads happen every month. Why wouldnt you post in last months May thread, instead of something from 2017?
It's something weird which often happens when newbies arrive on the forum. It was explained once, but I can't remember the details.

that is so crazy... you can disagree than you will get 100% of your money. But then they will kick you out they say.
Win-win.

Monkey pic is still 'up' and visible from here, with name blanked.

No the monkey has gone now "Well, this is unexpected... Sorry, we can't find what you're looking for. While you're here, take a look at our hand-picked Collections. Error code: 404"
Oh, I'm still getting it with the name blanked out, both on FF after three refreshes and in Edge with all cookies/history deleted: https://www.dropbox.com/s/a5xe1c1i1nmnwzk/MonkeySelfieSS.jpg?dl=0Maybe different servers updating at different times?

This is great (in a tragic way).
One of the most well known wildlife images of the last few years, accepted onto the site, presumably with no checking or verification:
https://www.shutterstock.com/image-photo/animal-monkey-primate-1379276279
Obviously the poster only has 200 images, of a wide variety of topics. All of which are stolen.
Something is happening: the pic is still on sale as of 2203 BST, but there is no photographer credited. After "By:" the alleged author's name is blanked out. Hopefully they would give the actual author any royalties raised. But still, without his permission, they can't sell it. Unless he contacted them and they persuaded him to sign up (but in that case, his name should be credited).

I have a different downloads number for my 1st month in performance-downloads and account management-profile.
Do you know why?
If you're exclusive, it's because Plussed images count as two in downloads year to date. Otherwise, the stats don't necessarily tally because they're pulling stats from two different sources. I know, it makes no sense, just passing on what they've said.

Nevertheless, just tweeted this to both SS and Oringer. I was going to @ the copyright owner of the monkey-selfie, @davidjslater but opted against it. Who knows, they might shoot the messenger!
I tweeted him (I think, I hardly use Twitter!), I have no skin in SS to worry about.

Observations from my May sales: 1. Re-starting uploading in Jan hasn't helped me any - one sold in April and that's it. 2. We are soooo at the mercy of the algorithms.

Have you used a different person as witness or yourself? Could be one of the reasons...
Yeah, because loads of people sue themselves for false signatures on releases of self-portraits.
It can happen with twins and triplets
To be honest, that's a valid - and awkward - point which I hadn't thought of. Anyway, just stating the rules, not saying they make sense.
It was the rules I was commenting about: I know sometimes they are a bit nonsensical.
