Hi all,
Is there any free applications or website to monitor sales and trends base on our own sales data over different microstock agencies?
I remember there is a website that you can key in your own sales data and plot the graph..
I know it can be done by excel, but any online website or tool?

Hi all, what do you think of cutcaster? There sale there seems not a lot. However, i would like to give some feedbacks about this site as a contributors. First i think it is not an user friendly interface to check your portfolio, statistic, sales.. you get in the first page and got BROWSE, UPLOAD, STUDIO, LIGHTBOX 4 tabs to choose then you click STUDIO, you need to click many times to check your statistic like views, and you click another few times to check your sales. Need to scroll all the time, and the layout of the webpage is not giving the best browsing experience. I really would like to see an total change of the website. http://www.cutcaster.com/studio/pub/395410165

Got my first sale in GL in one month..it is not as fast as some of you for the 1st sale but still a good experience. It paid 52% to contributors so i got $3.12 for a single sale, and you can set your own price. which website is paying fair to contributors and do all things fair? To me, the website had read what contributors want and make the business a fair deal, so i have to recommend it for buyers and sellers. For seller, 1. 52% share for contributors. 2. No lock-up time for porfolio. 3. Very easy uploading, and fast review, within 24 hours. If IPTC is in JPG then it will go to pending approval after uploaded, and vector just upload xxx.eps + xxx.jpg. Fast review just encourage one to upload more since it doesn't have to wait for days and weeks. 4. Set your own price if up to $20. 5. If you images are chose into GL collection, it will showcase on the front page to increase your exposure. It seems to give contributors a fair opportunity to increase their portfolio exposure and sale. 15 images are showed on the front page each time, change every refresh of page. I find that no other website do it better. here is my referral link.. thanks. http://graphicleftovers.com/designer/mtkang/ref=mtkang/however, it doesn't accept images with fully recognised people at this moment. excuse , what is GL Collection Images? I got some there but I not remember I do anything different
I think it is like they think your images are interesting enough for some buyers, and those images will be randomly showcase on the frontpage. It means you get more views and more exposure.
and one can set your own price, and you can even upload a psd, photoshop file.
it seems many people got sales there in short time, but i am still waiting for my first sale there.

I had uploaded there like 1 month in slow pace, i am still waiting for my first sale. There is a GL collections, if your photos and images are in it, it will show on the front page as one of the images. if all your IPTC is in jpg and eps+jpg then it will go directly to pending approval. Very smooth uploading. However i will sometimes encounter an error with a code number during vector uploading. reviewing time is very fast, within 24 hours. all these reasons make it easy for contributors to try on this website. http://graphicleftovers.com/ref=mtkang/

so there are people who got sales in colourbox?
I guess most people are ''allergic" to new microstock website that will disappear too fast and wasted their efforts.
Even it is ''microstock", it doesn't mean it is low earning job.
But how can one contributor get paid by colourbox if there is no paypal option?

i saw my vector extended license is 40 credits, i will get 25% that's 10 credits my photo extended license is 20 credits, i will get 5 credits.
that's mean i will get $10 for vector, $5 for photos for EL?
I am still under 100 downloads, so i don't see how can i change it to higher price.
just realise the amount of EL is much lower to most website.

i think both canstock and fotolia accept IPTC from preview jpg, but need to zip eps + jpg into a zip file. well, today i just uploaded bigstock, with eps and also a preview jpg, and it reads the IPTC! check it out..it shorten the time for vector uploading. my referral link.. http://www.bigstock.com/?refid=JkPCVQhzvNany bigstock guys out there? isn't it important to make something for vector uploading that can read IPTC from preview jpg? the only 2 agency that don't read IPTC, bigstock and istock.
I am uploading some vectors and i have to sit hours and hours just to copy and paste IPTC from my jpg.
Don't forget about Canstock and Fotolia (if you still upload svg files). I think it is pretty much par for the course that vector uploading gets the short end of the stick. It must be a fairly challenging technical problem because a lot of agencies seem to have trouble with it. Dreamstime can't seem to get a system where you can FTP both at the same time. Most of the build your own stock sites, like Clustershot, don't even offer vectors. I've come to just expect it to be bad and hope that I'm pleasantly surprised when a vector uploading system is easy.

Hi zager, thanks for the attention, i had posted similar question in dreamstime forum, and their answer is like the partner sites is accessible to all the portfolio but they may had filtered out some images so it is unlikely to have full portfolio, but for my case it is zero image. I don't think i have 100% similar images on dreamstime and fotolia. anyway, let's know the results and hopefully most images are available for sales as a win-win situation for agency and contributors. Control and reselling issue
Portfolios differences
Guys Dirkr and mtkang, this is really strange. I'm going to find out what's behind that, because we should have everything. I'm sending the info to our dev team and will wait for their findings.

I found out one can click their own contributor's name on pixmac, so i only see my partial portfolio, all from fotolia.
so where is my portfolio from dreamstime?
Can you send over your nickname or links to DT, FT and PX portfolios? I'm curious myself... Thx.
hi zager, here is my link that i found portfolio of mine in pixmac, i have same username in DT and FT too.. i didn't upload to PX but i uploaded to DT, FT. http://www.pixmac.com/author/mtkang%40ftl If pixmac will take the whole portfolio of a contributor from DT and FT, who opt-in partnetship sales, then many of my images aren't in pixmac. Since i have choose to opt-in, i hope all my portfolio is available in PX.

try to browse through all website popular images.. and you may get some ideas what is considered sale-able.
it is quite strange people like to verbally attack a newbie or a new agency.. i don't verbally attack people in real life so i don't do it here. I know in real life buying a camera doesn't mean someone is becoming a better photographer than me, starting a new agency that sell cheap photos doesn't bring down my life.

I think the image looks ok to me, i guess off-WB will only be 'obvious' for some indoor studio shoot?
I will try different WB if indoor light is too yellow, but outdoor shot i always let it AWB, auto whitebalance..
i got one more question, is this WB less a problem for film photography? are those film users always will use color filter to offset white balance too?

still looking forward for my first sale.. i find the uploading process is quite good, if you have everything with IPTC in your jpg, it will move to pending approval without extra click. Review will be done in 24 hours or less, in my experience (there aren't much people uploading?) there is this GL collections that if you photos are in, it will be showed randomly as one of the images on their homepage. i got like 6 images out of my 60 porfolio is in that collections so i can see my own images at their homepage. generally a good experience for contributors. http://graphicleftovers.com/ref=mtkang/
