If you think that the number of sales at IS increase in time and surpass SS, what is your estimate of the treshold (in terms of number of DLs at IS)?
I don't understand your question.

Things at BigStock are about the same for me ... crappy.

I always downsize my images to 4MP for SS - they automatically scale things up by 400%, so I can't see it hurting my sales there.
When I started shooting stock I made it a habit to downsize everything, but have since realized how this significantly impacted my earnings. I now downsize only if it's necessary to get an image accepted. When I downsize, I do so according to each agency's pricing scheme. If I can get away with it, I'll upsize to get a cropped image into the next price bracket.

Where did this collection come from? They are all anonymous.
Fotolia's press release says: Images selected for The Infinite Collection have been gathered through partnerships with top-end photo agencies worldwide. To be considered for inclusion, a photographers work must come through representation from a well-known agency, and the photo cannot have been previously licensed for any amount less than its pricing on Fotolia.
The Infinite Collection is the first traditional stock library to be created by a microstock agency. Images will be representative of the spectrum of categories currently offered by Fotolias microstock marketplace. Buyers will be able to search through Fotolias entire collection, or narrow search results to view only Infinite Collection images.

Infinity? I don't get it. Who's gonna pay $20+ for stuff like this when there's more selection and far better to be had for 1/20 of that price? It's not all like this, though ... check more of it out by going here.

It's fairly obvious that copying and pasting keywords are the culprit, not a virus or worm. If software was responsible there would be a lot more files involved than those from just a few contributors.
I can honestly say that I've never done this. From what I've seen, a lot of people put minimum effort into keywording. Some people like to limit themselves to an arbitrary number of keywords ("there should be a limit of ten"), others prefer to copy and paste ("dale hogan"), but most simply list the contents of the image along with a bunch of stuff that isn't there ("airplane,flying,wings,engines,pilot,runway,luggage,..."). Garbage in, garbage out ...

You can also enter the metadata using Photoshop (Ctrl+Alt+I), which is useful as well. The only thing you should normally have to do after uploading is select categories and model releases.
A technique I sometimes use for helping with keyword generation is to edit a random image on IS. I copy and paste keywords from the image I'm currently working on, then use their CV to explore posible keywords. Give it a try once you get accepted there!

$2k is a lot to spend and be unsatisfied. I hope you complained.

It helps to introduce a small amount of localized monochromatic noise (2%?) on a neutral gray layer set to Overlay blending mode. You can also try using the clone tool set at softest and 15% to 40% opacity to blend posterization lines. Avoid using the blur tool, as it tends to introduce posterization. The smudge tool can sometimes be of use, too, but not that often. Downsizing may also help rescue an unusable shot.
I'm a bit curious about your "nailing the exposure" statement: you should be aiming to overexpose your images as much as possible without blowing the highlights, then bringing the exposure back to something acceptable by adjusting the levels.

As Perrush wrote a while back, Moneybookers uses a better exchange rate than PayPal, so it can really pay if you aren't living in the USA. I'd switch in a second, but they don't offer service to my country (Canada).

There are many programs available to do this - which one you use is a matter of personal preference more than anything else. There have been a number of threads about this; like you I'm too lazy to look them up. (grin) Some people use IrfanView, I use MS Photo Info.

... hmmmmmmmmm .... no I've been using the web form upload, then input title, description, and keywords on their website. ...
You are making a very big mistake by assigning title, description, and keywords after uploading. About the worst thing you can do is upload an image, fill in the title, description, and keyword fields, then copy and paste the info from there when you upload the image to another site. Although it may seem easy and efficient to you now, you will find that you have created a monster when your portfolio is larger and you want to upload to a new site. Being new to this game, you may want to consider modifying your workflow to filling in these fields, waiting a day before revisiting them, and finally uploading. The information you supply is your only selling tool, and it's critical that you develop good habits and sensibility if you want to maximize your sales.

For me 123 is a third tier site - on par with BigStock. Its easy uploading process eases the very low profit pain. I make a puny $30+ per month there with 1000+ images. It's worth the effort, but only barely so.

My IS sales are in mild decline: Oct=BME, Nov=-6%, Dec=-3%. I am seeing sales on older images, too.

My sales are down 5+%, which is within the normal ebb and flow of things.

Yeah, the money's good at IS, but you have to take your lumps (in the form of image rejections) in order to get it. One of my IS monthly goals is to build my portfolio by at least 60 images ... it can get disheartening at times.

I make $30+ per month on BigStock with 1400+ images there. It's a third tier site, and I would be very surprised to hear that anyone earns a significant amount using it.

Perhaps StockXpert has a new reviewer who isn't quite up on things as he/she should be.

When I lived in the USA I used eBay quite a lot - I did more selling than buying. I only had one bad experience in several hundred transactions, when the seller claimed to have shipped the item within a few days of being paid, when he actually waited 5.1/2 weeks before doing so.

But you have such a small portfolio - 37 images at SS, for example - that you really can't draw conclusions about sales in general. ...
That about says it ... you shouldn't expect any sort of sales regularity until you have at least a few hundred images online. There'll be a lot of too and fro until then. This month's going okay for me - about the same as last month, maybe a few percent better. I'm just waiting for the bottom to drop in a week or so. After that I don't think I'll be selling much until the first full week of January.

The very first thing I do after RAW conversion is use Noise Ninja. I use it on every shot - even the ones shot at ISO 50. It's a very flexible and easy-to-use program.
Use Noise Ninja to remove noise, not for sharpening or anything else. It really shines when you use it on separate layers so that you can fine tune the noise reduction on different parts of your image (e.g. strong for shadow areas and sky, weak for faces, ...).

You don't have to process them - you only have to do that if you upload via FTP.
You should be able to see your images by first clicking on the "History" tab, then on the "View Images" link under today's date. If there's no link, or some of your images are missing, that means they don't match 123's images size specifications.
