I live in Europe and see all kinds of races everywhere, every day.
Hmm, I was going to say, 'come here and have a look around', or my French friend's area of Alsace, but then you qualified the 'everywhere' by saying: "Any place considered a city really. It can be different in smaller towns and countryside, but that's the case everywhere."
And actually, I was in Bucharest a couple of weeks ago and saw extremely little racial diversity there.. I'm working on my pics today, and that is certainly the case from my street scenes all over the Old Town, and in one of the major parks in the city centre.

"That time you didn't want to understand what the market wants"
From your comment on the other thread, it doesn't seem to be doing you much good on Adobe. BTW, not one person on the first page of your Adobe port (as I see it) is wearing specs. There's a place for diversity; and there's a place for reflecting the local community, which may not be diverse.

Suppose a photographer reported a copyright infringement to his photo to a stock photo agency, the agency's lawyer went after the infringer, and the agency was later awarded $1 million as damages by the court.
What will the photographer's cut be?
It will depend on the T&C of each agency. For example: Alamy's contract says, "16.2.1. If Alamy takes action Alamy may (but shall not be obliged to): 16.2.2. make such claims and take such action as may be necessary (in the opinion of Alamy) in connection with it. A percentage, equal to the applicable commission rate for that Image, of all amounts recovered by Alamy in connection with such claims or actions (after first deducting collection fees and reasonable legal expenses incurred by Alamy) shall be paid to you. 16.2.3. If you take action then Alamy's sole obligations shall be to at your request and cost, provide testimony in any action which may be brought by you by verifying the terms of the contract entered. Prior to giving this assistance Alamy may require you to have indemnified Alamy for all of the costs and expenses of any such action including at Alamy's discretion providing and securing the costs of Alamy's legal and other advisers. 16.3. You agree that where Alamy incurs legal and/or other specific costs relating to an outstanding amount owed by a Customer then these costs will be recouped by Alamy first before accounting to you. ..." I thought iS's contract said something similar, but when trying to find it just now, I might have skimmed over it (or maybe I was wrong, or maybe it has gone from the current contract).

How do you go about deleting your portfolio from istock getty. I have been looking around their site most the morning and can't find how to go about it.
You need to take out a support ticket and ask them to close your account.

If I chose, I could take offence at the expression 'of color/colour'. I'm not transparent, I have a colour, it just happens to be very pale cream. I seldom see models with my colouring: they prefer golden blondes to ash blondes with blue undertones to our skin. No shortage of redheads in Scotland: https://www.cosmopolitan.com/uk/beauty-hair/hair/a32357/redhead-facts"Deviant" is an odd expression. Apparently "74% of people in the UK either wear corrective eyewear or have had laser eye surgery to help them see better." So does that mean that those who don't are 'deviant'? By the pure stats definition, it does. (61% wear aids to vision in the Netherlands, 55% wear specs in Canada ...) That's certainly not reflected proportionately in stock images. "Family values" has no inherent meaning. I taught for many years in an area of multiple deprivation, and the family values of a significant percentage of the population was different than what conservative USians mean by that. E.g. the family whose youngest child was particularly small so was of 'value' to the 'family' by being put through skylights etc when the father was housebreaking. I also live in a very low racially-diverse area, actually the least diversity in the second least-diverse country in Europe. (I have lived here for nearly 40 years, I didn't choose it because it wasn't diverse! ) I think it's because we get so much rain so someone arriving here wouldn't naturally choose this area to live. So seeing 'diverse' images isn't very relevant to people in this area. But it is in other places. Luckily, I don't shoot people, so it's not an issue for me. What I think is difficult is how to portray diversity without being very klunky, and making the diversity obvious. For example, if I converted to e.g. Islam, I wouldn't look any different to the way I look now, unless I chose to wear a headcovering (I've always dressed 'modestly' by current standards, partly innate, partly because I burn very easily). Yet somewhere recently I read someone objecting to portraying Muslim women in hijab (etc) as being stereotypical. So how would you indicate that a woman, e.g. in the workplace, was Muslim - having a dedicated prayer room in the business HQ? If you don't show e.g. a wheelchair or an amputation/prosthetic, how do you portray different abilities in the workplace, particularly as we are (rightly) encouraged to "see the person, not the disability".

Sales on Alamy for me are totally random - I can't use my sales to predict what might be wanted in future. It literally seems to be just what a buyer needs at the time, and old, unloved pics from ten years ago can suddenly sell.

I'm having my best month for a long time. No b-i-i-i-g value sales, but more than usual sales, at 'reasonable' prices, though of course UKNS have still to report. March was my worst there in years, April had had good sales figures but very low rpd. A friend had her best month ever in April and only a couple of tiddlers so far this month.

The super-tiny "Connect" sales are pay per view, and yes, mostly we get nothing but Getty must be raking in a pretty penny. A lot of people this month in particular have been reporting 1c sales specifically to China (my current lowest to China is 5c), but I have no idea what that usage is.

Sales are in now. For me, $$ a slight rise on March, which makes it my second-worst month since July 2007. So much relying on the good Getty sales, which I didn't get in March or April. Ho-hum.

I can't see april revenue yet ... only the sales without the comission
Yup, I only discovered via msg a couple of months ago that the sales come in a couple of days before the $$$. The money should be live today or Monday. My sales volume is low, so I need some large-value sales. Ha, trying to be hopeful, but definitely not holding my breath.

On one of my latest sales reports, I received $0.00 for one of my images. What's up with that? Is IStock giving away some of our content for free?
I have two sell earnings $0.00 per download.
Were these from early on in ESP?
If so, these were tests, not actual sales. If not, why not contact them to find out more?
Look at the attached image, this is awesome!
The $0 sales look like tests. The mega-tiny sales are Connect, which is a sort of pay-per-view. In many cases we don't get paid, as they have to aggregate to 1c in a month, but I was astonished to see that a couple of months ago, I aggregated over $5 on one file (apparently).

So I saw today a video clip sale at Adobe for 1.56. I know SS has a deal which pays contributor $1.50 (which caused me to remove some clips there), but I didnt expect Adobe to join in on the rape.
I pulled the plug on Getty while back for dollar vid sales, just limited And removed video clips at SS, stopped working with VB, so Adobe is next to get my left overs?
Anyone else seeing $1.xx sales at Adobe?
-update Mat was kind enough to look it up and, this is my error, I did upload a still 4K frame as jpg and did not change the title.
Put down the pitch forks, Adobe is quick to look into problems on here. Thanks!!
Maybe change the thread title? (e.g. "Whoops, sorry, thanks Mat"

wow, I am quite curious how many sales that can generate -
I picked one totally at random, and there would seem to be hundreds of in-uses out there (just looked at the thums, couldn't see if they were the same or similars with different text. Of course, some of them may be nicked, but still ... Interesting: back in the day iS for one said not to put text on images as the customers could easily do their own. Given how few buyers of my images ever crop or resize them, I was never convinced.

It was some time ago when I signed up to iStock. And at the time, I submitted a display name which I thought would mainly be used on the forums and general interactions within iStock. And it was a bit of a silly name sort of like the one I'm using on this forum. However, it caught me by surprise when I found the same display name used as a credit line on photos sold through iStock. And to be honest, I'm not too happy about it. Is it possible to change my credit line through iStock? I would prefer to use my real name.
The procedure is that you take out a support ticket and ask for it to be done. However, I did it about a year back, and they said it was changed, but my silly pseudonym is still there. Good luck. Feed back, and if yours is changed successfully, I'll try again.

Why?
I find it easier you shoot knowing you'll earn money...
Not necessarily: they can put out wants list, usually expensive to set up, and you're competing against anyone else who wants to give it a shot.

For just an ordinary sub price? (Not clear in that article)

On a serious note, I've recently had two suspicious "personal usage licenses" recently that would in no way be appropriate in someone's living room wall. They are investigating and seems to be a re-occurring issue. Anybody else had this issue?
Yes, I've had a few. But the reply I got back was there was no evidence of misuse, which presumably means "not found online". Still, PU is by no means the lowest non-UKNS sale price.

My pattern is still the same as when I reported above, in March. Currently just passed 50% of last year's sales numbers, but only 28% of last year's income.

iS would have been a good site for you back in the day, but now ... If you can keep up a good supply of wildlife, particularly the more unusual species, why not try to get into one of the specialist wildlife agencies? But the best ones (i.e. I see them reguarly used here, youre location will have different publications, so do your own research) require a regular supply, you'd probably need to be more or less full time to keep up with their requirements. You can only do your own trials and find out which site/s work best for you. But even that can change, e.g. with a change of search algorithm. Like Jo-Ann says, you don't graduate from iS to Getty. Maybe some people do it, but I've only read of people who applied and were told to stick with iS. Maybe if you'd applied to G first? Who knows. Good luck, love your images.

It appears that some istockphoto reviewers work on weekends. I got images reviewed on both Saturday and Sunday of this weekend.
That was an unexpected treat.
Why unexpected? They've had reviewers all over the world reviewing 24/7 at least since I joined in 2007.
