And don't bother replying as I have selected "ignore" for your profile.
No surprise here, "ignore" is for cowards too afraid to face the real world Keep living in your bubble, shielded from facts and opinions contrary to yours!

My sales for the last few days are exactly 3 adding up to a pathetic $1.08 per day This is controlled for sure.
Did it ever cross your mind that maybe only your port is controlled?
Mine cannot be, since a sell multiple dozens of times more than you.
What are you even doing here, taking so much server space with your pathetic performance?
Of course you do You can keep your facetious comments to yourself.
I could keep them for myself, indeed, but I won't. As long as this forum gives you the right to spread pathetic excuses for your lack of performance, I will use the same rights to debunk your conspiracy theories and call you out. How can you have the audacity to claim you understand how this business works when you can only make "3 sales in a few days"? Unbelievable!

Hate is a strong word. Is there a stronger word then hate? I am not sure, English isn't my language. There should be some appropriate scale of words to accurately describe emotions. Would Charles Bronson say "They killed my family, and I hate them more than I hate ShutterStock"?
Right, that's why I used "dislike" instead of "hate" on my post.

I'm guessing it's now
#3 iStock #2 Shutterstock
and we have a new number 1
#1 Videoblocks
You are guessing wrong: My dislike hierarchy has only 1 agency: 1. iStock: by a large margin. That 15% revenue share and those 2 cents downloads are an insult, by any standard. Their lack of transparency, with only monthly updates is a major frustration. How can one even compare them to SS? My like hierarchy is: 1. Shutterstock: it provides a massive and stable 4 digits monthly revenue. 2. Alamy: best RPD, even if revenues are small.

It is possible if you upload 20,000+ images
20000 garbage photos maybe...no way 20000 good content all earn you 100 dollar month. i already told you...you have a big problem with quality, quantity won't help yu. that's hy you complain in every thread. if you need 75000 files to reach a 500 dollar level you should first stop uploading b...it...and focus on unity of content.
LOOOL, look who's talking about complaining in every thread.
jonbull and derek, Beavis and Butt-head of the microstock.
LoL!
Actually, I don't think you meant to say "LoL" but: Heh, heh! Heh, heh! Heh, heh! Heh, heh! Heh, heh! Heh, heh! Heh, heh!......

Hi everyone. I came here for advice, because I have no experience in the field of stock photography, but have some idea. I will be in New York for a year and I can buy a camera, maybe also a drone, make maximum photos of Manhattan and put it in stock markets. but I do not know if such photos are claimed and will investments be justified? How many photos will it make about the profit? Is there anyone who took pictures of New York?
New York is probably the most photographed city on microstock. So, one must do something really exceptional to break through on that over-saturated market. I doubt very much that someone who is just considering to buy a camera (no matter how talented), even after one year of research and study, will be able to properly compete with those thousands of excellent New York based photographers. Besides I wouldn't expect those successful photographers to come here and share with you their trade secrets

It's possible to earn $100 selling images on shutterstock per month. I earn approximately $30.
Sure. Do 3.33 times what youre doing now.
... or 3.33 times better...

I wonder why people put photos on flickr and similar "show only" sites and then cry if image "borrowed"?
Uh well, because if the image is All Rights Reserved it's show-only. If it has one of the ridiculous Create Commons licenses then it may be okay to "borrow".
I wonder why people put cars in car shows and similar "show only" shows and then cry if car "borrowed"?
No need to wonder about car shows. Let's wonder about any car on a public place. It should be OK to borrow cars parked on a street.

I'm not seeing a lot of love for Shutterstock right now.
People forget how awful iStock is because they don't have access to live download stats to build their conspiracies on and to be constantly reminded about that insulting 15% or less revenue share. Less transparency = less negativity, smart move from IS?

As long as there are books, newsletters, magazines, etc. being printed, there will be a market for microstock. As long as people are building websites, theres a market for microstock. Someone is going to make money, just not the contributor. Thats what entrepreneurship is nowadays...find a big bunch of people to do your work for you and pay them peanuts and treat them like shite while you make millions. Gone are the days of everyone making a fair wage at a company and being considered family.
We are suppliers though and I think throughout history they have never been treated better than the laws of supply and demand dictate ;-).
Exactly. Photography is so easy and affordable these days. This leads to an oversupply of contributors willing to work for peanuts and often even for free, just for bragging rights. Since SS & Co are no charities, they pay exactly what we are willing to accept.

"A fact is a statement that can be proven true or false."[/i]
A fact is a statement which cannot be proven false with our current knowledge.
Are you sure you assigned the right word to your definition?
Yes indeed, first lesson in Philosophy of Science 1.
Also, when you get to my age (and much less) you know that many things which were taught to us as 'facts' are now known not to be, as knowledge has advanced.
I understand! In other words, as knowledge will advance, we will end up agreeing with rinderart about wireless carriers making a fortune from stolen photos.

A fact is a statement which cannot be proven false with our current knowledge.
Are you sure you assigned the right word to your definition? Because what you described seems closer to: miracle ˈmirək(ə)l noun a surprising event that is not explicable by natural or scientific laws and is therefore considered to be the work of a divine agency.

Wow, so much hate. Or jealousy. Let it go dude. He shared his opinion, something everyone here has a right to do. Why you gotta call him out on every single thing he says? It is just a discussion. If you dont understand what he means, or you just dont like what he says, why dont you put him on ignore. Geez.
"A fact is a statement that can be proven true or false. An opinion is an expression of a person's feelings that cannot be proven"
Everyone is free to express their emotions and opinions, indeed.
However, his statement is false or misleading (in the best case scenario).
I called it out and used facts in my argument, not opinions.
What is this, kindergarten, where we have to protect some kid's sensitivity and play along, even when proven wrong?
Jeez!
PS. The truth will set you free, but first it will piss you off.
LOL. Not pissed off at all, but cute that you think you know me. You are right, the rest of us are stupid idiots. LOL. Buh bye.
When did I say that? I just called out a false statement made by one person. Sorry, but that's your "opinion" and your emotions speaking. There are many smart people on this forum, people using facts to prove their arguments. There are also people with very "interresting" opinions, like yourself! Anyway, since your advice was to "brush up on our reading skills", I am still curious to understand your interpretation of the statement you defended so passionately.

The fact is that, either way, US wireless operators operate under an enormous pile of debt, being far from "making a fortune" these days, let alone making a fortune from photo stealing, as posted above.
That association is preposterous.
Enormous piles of debt do not necessarily mean that you can't make a fortune.
If you need capital, then debt is often the cheapest way of getting it, because of the tax advantages. Much better than asking shareholders to stump up.
Sure, the fact is that they are certainly not making a fortune NOW. They have many investments to do, like building those nation wide 5G networks. They might, or might not, make a fortune, in the future. That's a gamble those investors have to make. But again, they are not "making fortune" from stolen photos. I hope you can agree with that. That's the point of his post and the point of this thread.

I called it out and used facts in my argument, not opinions.
No, you used things that you believe to be facts. They may or may not be facts.
What I used is data publicly available, not opinions. Bond or not, that is borrowed money. Maybe not all of it from banks, indeed (we could check how much exactly), but also from other entities who lent their capital to these companies. Check the latest announcements: Sprint is desperately trying to be bought by T-Mobile, because they don't see another way out from their financial troubles. The fact is that, either way, US wireless operators operate under an enormous pile of debt, being far from "making a fortune" these days, let alone making a fortune from photo stealing, as posted above. Brush up on your reading skills. He didnt say the wireless carriers were stealing photos, he said they are the ones making all the money.
Oh yeah? Just like this, in a sentence and thread about photo theft? Maybe he just has hard time expressing his thoughts coherently in writting. Maybe he only wanted to say that wireless carriers facilitated the growth of the internet. Maybe he just wanted to say that billions of new users, accessing the internet wirelessly, are very hungry for media these days (photos included). Maybe he just wanted to say that this increased demand has also incentivized thieves to steal more. But between these potential interpretations and his unfounded claims about wireless carriers "making a fortune" as a consequence of this theft, there is a huge difference. Mind you: Sprint has 33 Billions of debt. Billions with B. T-Mobile has 15 Billions of debt. Billions with B. AT&T has 151 Billions of debt. Billions with B. Verizon has 117 Billions of debt (at the end of 2017). Billions with B. It costs many Billions to build those high speed wireless networks. Maybe he should have said that, as a better example, when looking at these mountains of debt: banks "make a fortune"? But again, this is a thread about photo theft, not profitability of certain industries.

I don't think Marbury actually hides, just doesn't make himself easy to connect.
Who is "Marbury"? I can find this when googling "Marbury shutterstock": https://www.shutterstock.com/g/hubballiNot that it matters, but how can one tell that Marbury's port on SS (aka hubballi) is the same as Herg's? ... and btw, who si YadaYadaYada?
