I did an A-Z book for a charity recently so many of the shoots have also joined my stock portfolio. the Q is for Quilt was quite tricky and not a fun shoot. to my surprise i've sold 3 pics in the first week of uploading these pics - very boring quilt on bed, quilt on chair. Perhaps this will be their only sale?
similarly, on the way back home from the beach last week i leaned out and shot one of my dogs hanging out of the side of the car (our Defender ute), much to husband's concern (not for my camera; the dogs have fallen out a few times now). I've sold 2 pics in the first 2 days on SS. admittedly that 50c isnt' going to cover fuel costs but it's pretty neat to see sales so quickly.
What have you uploaded just because you had it, and then been shocked to have sold them (more than once)

since this is my daughter she has no choice but to be my model lol! at least for the next few years until she turns into a teenager...
nothing wrong with that! I've got 3 daughters who also have no choice, and while they continue to live under my roof that will always be the case. ditto for my parents who are due up to our beach house in a few days time.... they will be the stars of my new series of "baby boomers". back on topic: loved the grass one. I thought at first glass the fishing rod was a strip line fence thing, so yes: too distracting. I could be wrong but I would have thought a still life object would be good too? not necessarily apple on white background of course, but something...?

I searched "facial massage" the other day and the number one image (once I refined to "new images") was an editorial of some old wrinkly guy in sth america.
"christmas" is the worst, some real violations in there, even despite istock's controlled vocab thingy.

you kind of lost me at: be efficient and creative. usually the pursuit of efficiency is what kills creativity.
being creatively efficient is another matter, still not in a good way.

Yuri does a vid where he says it's rubbish you can hand hold and get sharp images, there are some disgruntled opinions. I love it. I don't hand hold my 24-70 below 1/100, for still life. for people, i'd want 1/180+.

hmm, it poses something of an issue with using minors' pics, which they'd need parental consent for, so there surely must be more amendments due.

do they slow it down on purpose, to coincide with avoiding the payout dates? Are they going to hold off until after the 21st?

didn't realise we could log in to our contributor side. I use it to check what images are already out there, so I get an idea of what not to shoot.

mine appear to be all through, but I hope not! not WM of this (first) year, but in the bottom 3. i would have preferred to see growth each month as my port grows.

what's interesting are the keywords I don't think about: like prairie, which we don't use in Australia, but could in theory be used. although outback Australia tends to wander more towards 'tundra', which I'd never use cos I think of Mongolia, Russia or Alaska when you use that term.

Similarly, I keyword peanuts as nuts, although they're legumes.
so if peanuts aren't nuts, and almonds aren't nuts, why does half the planet have a "nut allergy" ?

if you mean "down" from my massive $2/month i've been getting, then yes. although any one day's earnings could end up a BME there too, lol. (I suppose I could increase my port there, just checked, got less than a 100 files. oops)

whole port contrary to DT.
I thought so, thanks. you don't often hear about DT exclusives, on paper it looks good, is it?

i was hoping to use my xmas "break" (me feeding 3 kids, husband and two dogs 3-5 meals per day for 6 weeks; oh yeah, bring on the holiday "joy") to catch up on my pile of RAW files I've got in my To Do folder. plus we'll be at the beach for most of our summer break so I'll no doubt try to shoot all manner of stuff... should have them edited in time for the nthn hemisphere summer season.
i'm so glad I got a dozen Christmas images up, cos they are doing nicely enough to give me BME across most sites. (easy enough in my first year I suspect.)

i've got a port half the size and similar earnings. you're making life as an IS exclusive look good.
can you put just some images into exclusive at iS or does your whole port have to?

hmm, the person who suggested they offer a discount..... is no one going to bite him for saying that?

Going well for me, most likely to be a BME - I do have new xmas stuff that is doing well (wish I had more!). Not that my BME is anything to brag about, I've only got 250 files online. Only 10% are subs so I'm happy that even though DLs are low the $ are good. They are taking longer than normal to review though. I've had a few images move to the "image under review" status for 24hrs now. * I love it when you say something here and it's fixed. Just had a whole batch go through.
