thats why i don't sell nothing in stock...my sales are given free ...i checked last march and i had practically 400 fixed image line in connect...now more than 5000....what a mess of company of statement...
Here's what they say about Connect if this helps - not very transparent: https://contributors.gettyimages.com/HelpArticle.aspx?article_id=5176
And if you use this link, and then click on 'download' under 'products' section, you can see the whole overview of how they license work. https://contributors.gettyimages.com/article.aspx?article_id=6251
Here's something strange I just noticed on the Statements page in DeepMeta: I went from only 27 Connect items in February to 2257 Connect items in March. What might have caused that big of a jump? ? ?
Apparently, some Connect customers only report once a year.

I don't think it's worth the time uploading them to Microstock, there won't be enough buyers - the niche is too specific and people who want to illustrate articles will go for editorial as they want something real, but they might do well on POD websites like FAA for instance.
Because people want pictures of Jerusalem/other city burning on their walls? Do you (meaning 'does one', not 'you' personally) really want to sell to/encourage that kind of person? OTOH, it could count as evidence: the accused had a large image of X burning hanging in their living room.

New message: "Data load in progress Statement data is currently not available because we are importing new statement data. Please check back later." It's the Wheel of Fortune, folks. Good luck!

Hello! Photos that were sold in march are already in the webpage but still no statement about the $$$.
Just curious, does the DeepMeta statement update at about the same time as the esp website ?
Just after, as it relies on esp info.

The wheel of fortune didn't start. It was just taking a very long time to upload yesterday - there was no message to say that stats were updating. This morning, the page is loading quickly, but the March stats still aren't there. Maybe today, or maybe ... ?
I foolishly assumed because it was going round something was happening...should have known better of course. Expecting a bad month unless I got lucky with some premium sales
That's what I thought at first ... but wondered why there was no message. Eventually the page loaded. Still no wheel of fortune, but I guess it's early in Seattle. And only a nice big sale or two would save my month!

Yeah, that happened last month too. Might be tomorrow, failing which Friday. But who knows? Downloads poor, must have had a lot of 'plusses' (two increments per sale). Amazingly, not quite as poor as last March.

... How would you verify that answers were from 'qualified people' (e.g. I could complete the survey and I don't even supply video), did you even consider that people might deliberately write misleading answers (why would they? you're competition!). ...
asking for the username would have been the qualifying information I needed to confirm the person was genuine,
I could have linked to someone else's port/given someone else's username. I didn't, and wouldn't; but could've.

I really didn't expect this place to be such a hostile environment, there's some toxic people here but i'm glad everyone isn't like this. Thank you to the 1 genuine response iv'e had from this forum.
Tell us who you are and what academic institution you are studying at and you might find us less so but I'm guessing you won't.
My name is Gavin Roberts and I'm studying at Staffordshire university in the third year of a Film and TV Production Technology Degree. I have no problem stating this as I am genuine. I'd be more than willing to meet in person even if someone was local. I have nothing to hide.
Thanks for that you might want to take a look at this. https://www.mrs.org.uk/pdf/2014-09-01%20Online%20Research%20Guidelines.pdf
Thanks for the insight, this stuff is pretty alien to me. Much appreciated.
Get a refund from your university. You should have been told all this at the time you were told about the requirement to conduct a survey. Also you should have done a dummy run of your survey to foresee problems, and I'd have expected you to have had to run the questions past your director of studies.
See above. Out of interest, what's your degree in?
Nothing relevant to stock; and it was long enough ago that online surveys weren't an option. My knowledge about university surveys is all derived from the surveys I've conducted via the other group - at least two Scottish and one English university was involved, probably more.

If there's even a chance that this is a genuine academic project, your university has done nothing to guide you on getting information. Mind you, if it's true that you have only three weeks to get your dissertation finished, you're even more 'take it to the line' than I was. Like I said, I don't understand why a supposedly genuine academic survey doesn't come with all the proper rubric I've experienced before (from UK universities). You posted on this group, which is a totally unverified and open group. How would you verify that answers were from 'qualified people' (e.g. I could complete the survey and I don't even supply video), did you even consider that people might deliberately write misleading answers (why would they? you're competition!). The other group I'm on which has occasional student requests like this is a closed group, we had to have participated in a particular event to join (which is the reason for us being asked to participate in the research, all of us are de facto 'qualified'). The students are verified by members, e.g. 'my niece', 'my neighbour's son' or whatever. We are first of all linked to a page by the student (they can't post directly onto the group as it's closed) who introduces themselves immediately, (they don't post anonymously), explains what help they need and why, and if you want to you are then taken to the university page where it's all explained, with like I said the contact details of the director of studies etc. It's always totally anonymous from our side. There really is no reason why anyone would bother to falsify their answers, and they tend to get at least a hundred responses. Like I said, we can also follow up on their studies when they are completed. You didn't do any of that, and think we are toxic because some of us are suspicious or less than helpful. LOL!

Can't you get all that info from just looking at the best sellers?
It's standard practice to the point of being a cliche to have a survey in a dissertation these days.
It is unfortunately, I'm required to seek primary research information and for my chosen path this is information from stock creators.
Like the other person who is allegedly doing an academic study, I'd expect far more official information from your university detailling your course, why this info is needed, details about you and your director of studies, where the results would be published etc, rather than just a totally anonymous survey monkey page.

It's odd, because I have helped out some students in a totally unrelated to stock area of my life, and the real name of the student has always been given, and the first page when clicking on the request link is always a university page with full details of the student, their faculty and director of studies contact details, full details of what the survey is about and why it had been deemed necessary, assurances of privacy/anonymity measures, a statement that says you can opt out of the study at any stage and an expected date for the completed study and details of how to access the info once it's finished. That is over at least three universities that I can recall, and the general rubric has been the same on them all, so is presumably accepted practice with academic surveys. But here ... an anonymous poster and no official status. Hmmm.

My rpd is vastly down there despite all my files being de facto exclusive and c99.5% being exclusive nby their rules.

... I know it gets promoted because I do random searches from time to time and I see how my images are ranked.
Hmmm. IS makes no secret that they have a geographic bias to the search, and presumably cookies play a big part. I see - in some searches - a difference, sometimes a big difference, in results in my usual browser and in a browser which is cleared after each session. Also often a friend in the US gets different results. In addition, for several years, the 'most recent' sort hasn't always meant most recent; and I recently noticed that in a 'most popular' sort, one of my pics from a series with very few sales was ranked (in a sitewide search) several pages above my top-selling file on its main keyword. Plus you may have noticed, as I have, that sometimes best-sellers suddenly stop selling, then checked and found it has gone from the top ten in the best match site to below 1000 on their main keyword. All of this has little bearing on whether you should become independent, of course. Just one thing about that, in case you didn't know. You might think that if you were independent, your files might sell more on iS because they are cheaper. A few people have been caught out by this. If you go indie, your existing files will still sell for 3 credits, of which you will get 15%. However, new content will be sold at 1 credit. Of course, that could change on a whim, if their system is sophisticated enough. I'm not sure what happens to content which is mirrored on Getty, though all your content will still be available to Premium Access buyers.

- so as far as I know - you don't need "permission" (or to pay a fee) to use the statue of liberty/eiffel tower/etc in your ads, so not sure whether the murals have a leg to stand on either...
The Eiffel Tower is OK during the day, but not when it's lit up at night, as the lighting designer has rights over that.
