With 70000 contributors undoubtedly something will go wrong eventually. Even at the almighty shutterstock. My advice to marko is to keep chasing shuttertock till they pay up.

In this case it is about making money, not warm memories. But I agree, candid shots are priceless in terms of memories.

Stumbling across random crap is the story of my life! Actually I've had some good sellers like that  :o
I definitely have some snaps that gave me very good returns, but a planned shoot has better chances of getting winners.

It depends on your expectations. If you want to make some pocket money, sure. If you want to feed your family it is not.

The reviews are incredibly inconsistent. Nothing to do with reasons needing work. They worked fine up untill this whole inconsistency started.

Tuesday great sales. Wednesday a drop. Today 1 sale.

Similar. Monday Tuesday $225 total Wednesday $10 today $4

It is no requirement for any image. It is just you, doing the agency's work.

Same for me

I meant for EU businesses. What if you are EU business, and are exempt from VAT? Does this EU law apply then?

What if you are not VAT eligible? Some countries offer a VAT free threshold for businesses. You are exempt from collecting VAT below a certain amount of revenue per annum.

Canva is a site where you design your own work using our images. Not sure if that concept would work on a mobile phone ever. People dont design stuff on their mobile phone, they use big ass monitors for that.

I think you can get away without releases for the berries at the bottom of the glass. They wont be able to recognize themselves.

I am not sure, but arent those types of concealed pricing illegal, like in Europe? I wish there was some kind of law or protection for contributors. It took a while for Europe to crack down on mobile phone carriers, something like that should happen for stock agencies as well.

How do I know if someone who is purchasing an image through an automated delivery system, if they are a private person or a legal entity?

Jo Ann, if that is true, about having to pay VAT to individual countries, then I am going to close shop.

Maybe a few years back, but they changed to a more personal approach

I wrote back, asking for clarifications, since I was pretty certain that all the logos, billboards, etc were blurred and or erased (btw, that photo was already accepted by SS in the commercial pool.)

If you email Shutterstock and ask, they will tell you what is wrong as well, and IS has that kind of support as well. Only Fotolia doesnt tell you.

Many agencies help you when you ask for clarification.

PhotoDune, Shutterstock, Bigstock, 123RF, Graphic Leftovers, Istock, and probably others too, all do that.

I think if the CEO of FT doesnt fit in the plans of Adobe, he gets the boot. Lets hope Adobe is ruthless towards culprits like Mr. Tscheltzoff and have a better understanding towards contributors.

With PayPal you can get the buyer country through the API call, and based on that you can apply the correct VAT

1170
Surely the treatment of contributors will change? Fotolia will get someone from Adobe to overlook things? I dont think Adobe wants to deal with a backlash of contributors. Only evil company's dont care about bad word of mouth, question is, is Adobe an evil company?

Sorry, something went wrong.
