C r a p I cant even log in the the contributor side. If all I get is two weeks and the site is down how on earth do they expect us to fix our illegal, horrible, intentional phantom spammy titles?

The only way I can see to even see titles is to go into approved images and click on each individual image. That would take months. I emailed asking for a specific list of images. If it is the uploader doing it this is their fault but my guess is that if they don't have a backup we will have to redo our images ourselves.

Shutterstock.com / Re: Email from SS - Regarding Repeated Words and Phrases in Image Titles« on: June 30, 2016, 15:04 »I don't see where the title is? The description is the description/title/caption. The thing is we are all in this together. If SS really followed through and blocked or terminated our accounts would they not probably lose 400 or so million images? I don't think they want that to happen. This whole thing is bad for their brand so I'm hopeful they will resolve it or communicate factual information to us shortly. 1157

Is there an easy way to review your port for title errors? I went an looked at my image port and it does not show titles on my iPad. If I go into accepted images under upload, there are only descriptions but no titles. And this way would take forever to go through each image. At least if there were a way to review your port to see titles as you scroll, that would make it easier....assuming there really is a problem.

I would rather have them tell us it's a bug so WE CAN ALL BREATH A SIGH OF RELIEF...but a polite sorry would be welcome too. I was sitting outside at lunch, had my headphones on, enjoying the sunshine and music and for whatever reason decided to check email and saw this. I cut my lunch short to run back to work to follow up with SS. They own me a bibbonbop at a Japanese restaurant...lol 1162

I have 5000 assets on SS and that would be a pain, but 45k...wow. 1163

I also got it and I make it a point to have clean titles and descriptions, and have for 10 years. I guess I need to respond to contributor relations. My guess is that they accidentally sent this to everyone when they meant to send it to one person.

Shutterstock.com / Re: Shutter Stock Sales Drop« on: June 29, 2016, 07:58 »
In the last 16 months I've added about 1200 videos to my 3800 image collection. My income in SS is the same now as it was then. So I can conclude one of two things:
1. Without adding those videos (I do have video sales) I would have a significant sales drop (roughly 25%, or $200 a month). 2. As many have speculated, if sales are somehow capped or controlled, that could also explain a lot. Whether this is the case or a simple conspiracy tone (I have zero proof of this other than my sales have capped no matter how many new assets I add) I cannot grow my sales at SS. I do wonder what my sales would look like if I would have created a new account for my videos and kept them separate from my still account. Would I be at $500 a month with video, $750 or still $200? Water under the bridge now, but I do reflect on this quite often. 1165

VideoBlocks / Re: Video blocks Survey« on: June 21, 2016, 09:48 »Like many of you I got a VB survey. I filled it out. My main things were "yes I like the 100% commission" and the one thing I don't like is "slow sales". That's probably going to be the tone of the survey. But one question makes me reflect on the old Istock "money doesn't matter" comments. Here is a screen shot of that question. I am wondering if this is a prelude to something forthcoming where VB can claim "money doesn't matter" sometime down the road as a reflection of this survey. It matters because their clips are only $49. 1168

My biggest concern, like many others here, is that they cut the 100% commission but keep pricing at $49. We've been talking about this since VB started....almost claiming it is inevitable that they will cut commissions. This just seems to be a prelude to that.....to me anyway. YES, 100% MATTERS. 1169

This is their new way to ensure that sales get distributed fairly among all contributors. Their model is not based on the value of your work and how much effort and quality you put into it. Those who don't really care and upload crap get rewarded for that lack of effort. 1171
Shutterstock.com / Re: Ever more erratic sales« on: June 20, 2016, 14:07 »
Without sod sales, I would be making hundreds less per month. On demands are way down and in most cases i get skunked. Video sales are slower, but image sales have been impacted more in the last 2-3 months. Probably a combo of a lot of variables, but search might be one. This particular situations happened fast, not a time phased thing. Still like that today. I make $100 one day and $9 the next. My average is $40 a day.

They want a photo of the model. Some take pictures of the model holding the release.

General - Stock Video / Re: remove a dust spot on video« on: June 18, 2016, 08:05 »I use Nuke for compositing and After Effects for quick comps and effects work - both should do the job easily. If you have Premiere then you probably have access to After Effects on Adobe's Creative Cloud package - Nuke would be overkill in this case. This is how I do it almost every time. You can move the clip around until get a nice blend over the spot. If I happen to be in Photoshop with my clip I create a new layer and simply clone over the sensor spot as in a photo and make sure that layer is times to the whole clip. Skies are usually easy unless there is moving clouds and blue sky mixes, especially on time lapses. In FCPX I've taken a couple of masks and pulled them into Apple Motion and inverted them, reserving as an inverted mask so I can have the flexibility I might need. Either way, Benozaur's method is my most commonly used spot correction tool. 1174
