I managed to upload footage via FTP (not 4k). Now I am on the "manage media" part. I enter a title, the keywords and my location, then click on save and it gets stuck there for ages. Is this normal?
I usually have to log out. close the browser then log back in when that happens. So yes, it happens, but not all the time. Are you using a CSV file for your keywords and titles? I suppose if you have just a handful of clips that is fine but I use a CSV file and just upload that and all my clips are tagged.

I'm still waiting for the BIG announcement later this year.
BIG announcement from who?
An Istock admin has said in their forums that BIG things are coming for video later this year, but they gave no specifics. So probably nothing to get excited about.

I think it's over at SS. By Sunday they are shutting down and keeping the money. Another one bites the dust.

When I was uploading there I never had a problem with reps, got most accepted. Haven't uploaded video for a while though since the high rejections started.

You can only upload 10 gigs at a time. This goes fast if you are doing 4K. I use ftp uploads and then go into the site under history and process those clips, add csv etc. then I go back and upload another batch and start all over. Your dtp will get the clips kicked back by 123 if you have not processed the previous 10 gigs of clips. If you are just uploading HD then you have a lot more clip slots you can work with.
30 gigs, as far as I know. I just talked to their support about some really bulky upload (almost all my portfolio). They are ready to give specific FTP for that purpose, they just asked to notify them in a day.
No, it's 10 gigs for FTP. I use it weekly and also have had communication with them.

Is there an "or else" statement?

Thanks, good info. Is it worth it, do they have sales?
I have had a few sales and all were regular type commissions, no cheap subs. It does kick your rank up for a month. But sales are not regular. I strategy is the hope that someone else takes video more seriously and I want to be positioned if that happens. Of course there the risk of a bunch of wasted time, like at Pond 5, where your strategy backfires. At P5 I went from $400 a month to zero after they launched their new program. At 123 I cannot honestly say it makes me good money with video, but then again neither does VB or ME. I make most at SS. So, my honest answer is that 123 will not increase your income with todays model and buyer base.

I don't love Pond like I used to. Now its just business... I am sure that they are aware that they have lost a lot of contributor sentiment. I am going to wait for the dust to settle from their restructuring efforts - could take years - but as I said, for now, its just business...
That's kind of where I am. I have about 4000 assets there, 900 of which are videos. I was making about $400 a month there and now it's basically zero. Since my work can't pass the current muster, I will focus elsewhere and wait to see where P5 goes. In the meantime I have 400 more videos they don't have. Will be a mess if they lighten up and I have another chance to upload....when I have 1500 more videos.

Sorry for confusing you, I mean deleting submissions in the inspection queue?
That means they are being rejected. Pond 5 is now not allowing in everyday footage, only high end stuff and, supposedly, stuff that they are short of in their collection. I stopped uploading there when I had 110 videos rejected.

What do you mean by deleting everything? Are they deleting already approved content of your? Or already approved content of everyone? Or deleting submissions in the inspection queue?

Essential key words have the most weight. Main keywords has less but I use it every time. I don't use the comprehensive keyword fields. There is also a batch system if you have similar images.

Same here. Have about 1500 or so images and never get any sales to speak of. All they really care about is your membership fee. Some may report differently, but most I speak with have given up on them.

I have a problem where I click on my account icon and nothing happens. I have to log out then log back in to navigate. This started a week ago.

If I'm a restaurant owner paying you to do a shoot for my business, I would not want to see the images I paid for on another restaurants menu, purchased through micro stock. I believe that you should have this clearly stated in a signed contract to protect you in the future. Everyone is correct in that you should be upfront with them AND get it in writing. I would also be clear that anyone can purchase the image, including a competing/similar business.

thank you Mantis - good to know! I've been out of the picture for a few years. Just getting back into it now.
No problem. Last year I logged into my StockXpert account at the end of the year and had $670 in it. I about pooped my drawers.

So you want to go to extra trouble to export 4K for IS so they can sell it for the same price as HD?
Right. If you make $7 for an HD, you will also only make $7 for 4k.

Hi Mirkic,
Do you realize that if you put your clips in Videoblocks thay will be removed from Dissolve?
Not really, unless Dissolve has changed their policy. What they did to me was lower my Dissolve pricing to $49 to meet VB, but they only pay 30%. So 30% of $49 = $14.70 while at VB you get $49 (100%).

Do you have the raw file? If you have the raw file that should resolve it.

Glad I am out. Now we know their true colors, which were hidden under a rainbow facade when they first started. Whatever, don't sweat it, they won't be around for too long.
