Well the only one sold today was uploaded 6 days ago. Just wondering if this is designed to woo the new contributors. Just a thought - but best match definitely has changed.

Best Match at IS has changed again. My best seller that was on page 1 for 1 keyword is on page 7 now. Are you ...... kidding me. NO DLs today. What a bunch of ........ I think it severely favors new uploads. Just looking at my own portfolio, the order has turned quite dramatically. DL/Month seems to have been DE-emphasized.
Is it me or everybody.
Thanks
PS. edited for language

What is/should be your/our strategy for the IS lightboxes if you have more than 5 pictures to choose?
A) Add your bestsellers to give them additional exposure and making it a valuable lightbox by improving overall quality - do not worry about other contributors "dogs"*.
B) Add only your lagging pictures - in the hope they might benefit from being in the same lightbox with other bestsellers.
C) Add 2-3 bestsellers and a couple of pictures that you think should be bestsellers but need additional exposure.
D) I wish I had enough pictures to choose from;)
My personal strategy is to add the best I have to make it a good lightbox benefiting everybody (A). The idea is that MSG lightboxes develop a reputation for being good resources for buyers. Perhaps (C) is not bad either. (D) go challenge yourself to add some awesome new pics.
* I've got plenty of "dogs" too, so take it easy will ya.

I was just looking for a quick way for to look at the lightboxes - not just submitting to them. Prominent links could be combined with the submission interface. I found the quick submit in the top left corner but since there are no PICTURE to draw attention to it, it might get overlooked.

... would be better suited for traditional RF than micro ...
Even traditional/macro RF is not allowed under IS exclusivity deal only RM.

@ etudiante_rapide Do you think we should have the same opinion to participate to this forum ? Should it be like microstock smiling-happy-jumping-fake word ? Thank you Leaf, Microstockgroup rocks, way to go. Cheers
PS I hate DT too
....what we say can sometimes come back to haunt us...
I just wish somebody would have sounded the warning bell before I got sucker punched. The drastic language only served to hammer the point home that I dislike DT for their self serving attitude. But then again, business is all about self seving. But then again microstock is supposed to be a collaboration which when it boils down to it - is a very one sided collaboration. I know, I know if I do not like it I can go somewhere else. Then again, thats exactly what I was trying to do. Finally see my problem?

quitting in bad faith is even more damaging to you, business-wise.
That's exactly it ... I am not allowed to quit. I am forced to stay. And the rules describing this policy are burried whereas the "simplyfied a.k.a. less restrictive" version is in the FAQ where all crucial policies should be spelled out. As I said before Stupid. stupid ME.

... They really don't make it easy to leave, do they
No surprise there, because we provide them with a product that produces a seizable profit margin for them and any time we remove contents cuts into the supply of that product. Stupid stupid me - hey forum police is it allowed to insult myself??

IF YOU WANT TO REMOVE COMPLETE CONTENT FROM DT
I HATE DT. Now that this is out of the way here are the facts. I disabled all my files with them after waiting the required 6 month waiting period. Their FAQ states
" You can disable all files uploaded more than six months ago at any time."
Since other sites were slow to close my accounts and I am some time away from my next payout I enabled my bestsellers at DT in the mean time. Turns out the fine print in the DT contributor agreement has this little tidbit.
" Images that were disabled and then enabled again will be counted as new submissions, no matter of their original upload date "
*. I know I should have read the whole thing but it is burried on page 11 (after 6500 words). And I had not heard of this passus before.
Anybody has any input in regards towards contacting sombody other than the official channel because I have not gotten a response in 3 days.
This suxs.

I inactivated or removed if inactivation was not possible all RF content from various sites and applied for exclusivity with IS. Anybody has any idea about the timeframe for "FINAL ANSWER".
Thanks

If all you need is a modem number (no hardware ID) to log in, perhaps somebody found a way to use your number and I am asuming a password with a generic modem. Try to exchange your modem (say it's broken) for a new login ID and see if that changes anything.
Keep us posted.

After erasing pictures and appologizing to unintentional "model" citizen. Knock on head by military trained man. If you teach em they will use em. Still walking free. What a motherf*****.

Has anybody else noticed a marked increase of 1st DLs of older pictures (>6month) I am just happy that these fogotten gems are finally seeing the light of day for the first time. Any ideas why? New and more diverse group of buyers that are less interested in 100% prototypical microstock - which is underrepresented in my portfolio (no headset girl).

It's the little red [X] that triggers a popup asking if you want to delete the picture/set. Yay everything deleted without having to close my account in case something awsome might happen.

Almost three weeks after my first post I've now managed to get my pictures deleted from SV.
I wrote to them asking them to cancel my account and delete my images and I got a pretty swift reply expressing concern and trying to be helpful. But I didn't get my images deleted as requested. Later they said I'd have to manually delete them all myself. For a while the delete facility wouldn't work so I had to write to them again pointing out that I wouldn't be able to delete my own pictures because that function on the site didn't work, however it them started to work again but was SO slow.
Luckily I found a 'delete complete set' button and as nearly all my stuff was in sets I was eventually able to delete it all.
I'm glad (relieved) to be away from SV.
Hatman where exactly is that delete set button, because I can not find it. Thanks

I have seen problematic lizensing clauses for this product mentioned only in a German newspaper:
"... Adobe darf: mit ffentlichen Fotos der Nutzer "Einnahmen erzielen". diese Bilder "reproduzieren, verndern, verffentlichen" und in "anderen Materialien oder Arbeiten in jedem Format und Medium" verwenden das Bildmaterial "an Dritte weiterlizenzieren" Diese Lizenz lsst sich Adobe weltweit einrumen. gilt "unbefristet" und "unabnderlich". gewhrt der Lizenzgeber, ohne dafr Gebhren zu erhalten.
Adobe darf Nutzerfotos weiterverkaufen
It basically means that Adobe can generate an income from these user derived pictures without compensating them for it. If this is meant as a right to advertize for the product with screenshots of user images was not clarified by Adobe. So watch out before you use it for your precious Microstock pictures.

does it work with Raw files?

Always supply to ALL libraries in RGB format. They mostly convert to sRGB for their smaller sizes.
It is better to take and store and sell your pictures as RGB because it has a wider gamut than sRGB. You cannot get back information that you have got rid of.
This is why you shoot in RAW and submit in sRGB - You can always go back and re-develop with another flavour.

Again, its a personal choice. But I do not do traditional microstock. Isolations - nope, Handschakes- nope. 2/3 of my pictures at IS have DLs where other agencies have a much smaller percentage of images with DLs. IS as it is, generates >2/3 of my microstock income and StockXpert, FT and even DT are falling off the cliff. With IS, good initial DLs gives less popular subjects a chance to be seen and if you are exclusive your placement is just better. I have one search word were I am comparing my most popular Image vs. the rest and exclusive images with significantly lower DLs are usually higher placed than mine. The rest of my work is very much editorial and that is actually the stuff that consistently sells at SS ( and we all know for how much). With editorial pictures I do not get the benefit of multiple DLs on SS because one picture that covers the subject is all the buyer needs. I rather try my luck on Alamy especially now that I can fully implement their 3 level key word optimization. 11 Million pictures are a huge collection to compete with, but if my keywords are optimal I should have a pretty decent chance to be seen. On top of that, Alamy buyers are willing to search >1900 pictures for one keyword intil they find what they want. Now that DT has editorial content I probably try first to see how I fare there.

Does anybody out here have an indication on how important the acceptance rate is for the application to IS exclusivity. Their FAQ quotes a minimum of 50% for inclusion into their exclusive domain? Mine is significantly lower at 32% using a Rebel XT as my workhorse. Now that I have a used 5D I am hoping for a better rate. However I am taking a number of extreme pictures under very unfavourable lighting conditions (low light, mixed light, high contrast etc.), which of course will give any camera fits and introduce artifacts even when carefully working in PS. Anybody with an acceptance rate below 50% that became exclusive with IS?
