For posting really important information that should be hidden from the view of agencies, we could always use the Members only section, don't we? That way they can't see our discussion, giving us freedom of speech without potential repercussions.

There's no more 'details' to show your latest sales, unless I click 'Classic view'. How am I supposed to see which images have sold in the new layout?

October was okay, but no sales so far in November

I think the 123RF watermark is a lot stronger than Shutterstock's watermark. Perhaps for textures, it will be less effective, but it's sufficient for my images.

That's a horrible way to treat you, Jo Ann. Such arrogance. Canva seemed promising at first, with a wholly new concept and personal contributor relations. With this new bizarre turn of events (massively deleting images from portfolios and banning contributors) Canva is destroying any goodwill they built up here. Such a shame. Contributors should never be silenced simply for voicing their opinion.
Sure, it's their business and they don't owe contributors anything, but if Canva wants to punish honest contributors like some hot-headed school teacher, I will no longer support them. I refuse to do business with an agency like that. If they ever get vectors up and running, that is.

I wish I could blame all my problems on patent trolls. Oh can't pay my mortage must be the patent trolls. Geesh where do some of you pinheads come from?
Exactly, it's not the patent trolls, it's the mistake (or crime, whatever you want to call it) of using contributors' money to cover the costs of the lawsuit. So those who defend Revostock/Craig, stop feeling sorry for him or his business. Actually, I'm surprised the affected contributors are not taking any action against this.

Not that funny, but it's well done. I wouldn't classify it as abuse.

Bunch of crooks. But it doesn't surprise me; Iran is a horribly corrupted country with a complete lack of ethics and total disregard for any kind of (human) rights.

What country are they from? Was this a legit business? How can they just close a business and think they can just walk away? Can't their creditors push them into bankruptcy? I mean this guy gets to keep his car and his house when he owes a significant amount of money? I'm not going to go back through this thread and add it up, but a low few K $ has been mentioned already.
Well, businesses like that are often set up to prevent personal liability. If I'm correct, Revostock is a corporation so yes, although Revostock may be bankrupted, Craig gets to keep his car, house and other personal belongings. You can't sue the person Craig Lillard, but you can declare his company bankrupt, and whether or not you'll get your money, depends on whether there are enough assets left to sell.
I'm not a lawyer, but that's the way I understand it.
However, i believe there was a crime. The owner knowlingly ripped off contributors for a year or more. A crime cannot be protected behind the cloak of bankruptcy.
In that case I advise you consult your lawyer.

I don't know what happened.
I stole all your sales. No, really, I did.

I got a standard reply as well. I do hope they actually fix this watermark in the next couple of days.

I feel bad for all contributors who are still waiting for their money.
Closing the site is one thing (it's probably for the best), but it's extremely disgraceful to leave contributors in the dark regarding their payments, even without a way to contact them. Also, using contributor's money to keep the company going is simply unethical.

Please e-mail your complaints to [email protected]. The forums are probably not being read by the people in charge, so better let them know via the official channels.

A fresh new day!
- 10 sub sales - 2 On Demand sales - 1 footage sale - 638 steals
At least one of those numbers is going up.

Some time ago all vector contributors were set at the 20% level. That means RC's have become pretty much irrelevant.
Did I miss this? When did this happen? Is this an ironic comment relating to the prevalence of subs, or is it purporting to be true? ( which it isn't)
It's not a joke, check the illustrator tab: http://www.istockphoto.com/help/sell-stock/rate-scheduleThere were a few changes for illustrators in July 2013, the 20% change was one of them. The newsletter said: "Upload Limit Increases We have raised upload limits for illustrations and you can now submit 999 files per week. Vector Royalty Rate Increases We have increased the non-Exclusive royalty rates to a flat 20% royalty (formerly 15%-20% depending on your sales). We have also raised the base Exclusive royalty rate from 25% up to 30%."

That's a terribly bad watermark, why are they doing this? At least think about image theft before doing large previews

Today I had to buy an image of a hand holding a marker (like in an animated whiteboard video). So I went to SS. I got this, endless pages filled with the same, repetitive stuff. And not even close to what I was looking for.

In Firefox, I can open the forum main page, but somehow, subforums cannot be opened. The page keeps loading until it displays a 'The connection was reset' error. I have no internet connection problems and other websites load normally . What could cause it?
FYI, in Chrome, subforum do load, but ugly font rendering makes it illegible (although that may actually be a Chrome thing).

I also just noticed that my Paypal email address has been removed from my details on Shutterstock. This getting more concerning.
Same here. Why is that?

The way it's worded reminds me a lot of regular spam e-mails. What if I don't want to click it? What happens then?

That's odd, I'm curious what Shutterstock has to say about this.
