Adobe Stock / Re: Adobe Stock Free Collection: Video Nominations
« on: November 22, 2022, 04:29 »
Were did Adobe claim that they would accept all or even a great part of the nominated videos into their free collection? Adobe has been pretty transparent about this. If you thought they'd take all or most videos then that's because you didn't read or understand the offer properly.
Yes, I personally dont worry too much, I dont have 0. But I think that many here on the forum will have 0 or around it.
Just the approach itself, write to people that you will receive so many thousands of dollars, and then accept nothing at all.
It would be interesting to read here how much they took.
Also, if you remember this program from the photo, then the photo was taken more and there were at least 3 rounds, if not more.
So far, I can see that adobe has a very meager and limited budget, which means that adobe is having a bad time.
Yes, and foolishness is everything, nominate a bunch of videos, promise a bunch of dollars, and then accept 0 or a couple of grand.

In my opinion, we were greatly deceived, hmm. They waved dollars in front of their noses and showed the muzzle.
Why reassure people if you werent going to take a lot of videos anyway.
Adobe drew mountains of gold for the authors, and as a result threw a handout. This is not correct behavior.

How many have you been nominated?

I do not anticipate more selections being made this round.

Thank you,

Mat Hayward
Judging by the number that you have chosen, you will have a very small collection. You started on a grand scale, but in the end everything was blown away to a minuscule. Probably the price of 8 dollars is expensive for you. That's why I wrote, reduce the price to 4-5 dollars.
According to the photo there were several rounds, at least 3.

Hi Everyone,

I want to let you know that the transfer process from paid to Free for approved opted in videos has begun. Some of you should be seeing your balance already changed. An email will be sent out later today with confirmation of the number of approved files.

Thank you for your participation!

Mat Hayward
1. Where can I see which videos have been selected?
2. Is that all, or will you also choose next month? How many more months will the selection last?

General Stock Discussion / Re: Adobe--No sales in (4) Days.

Adobe--No sales in (4) Day is a little strange to me!!
Yes, Adobe barely breathes. More dead than alive.

I want to be able to critique agencies without fear of being banned (like happened to Sean and Jo Ann).
And what happened to them there? Are there a lot of snitches on the forum?

So it is a bit of a mixed bag for me, but I can totally see why drone can be a great tool to have an edge in stock photo/videography.
If you are allowed to fly in Amsterdam, then a drone can help. Otherwise, absolutely useless thing. I have a drone, and I dont live in a country where there are strict rules, I fly in the city, but they practically dont buy drone videos from me, obviously this is all low-stock. A good drone video also needs models.
In general, I will say this, a normal drone costs about $ 1000, it makes sense to buy if you can fly in major tourist cities. If you shoot video for stocks, then a drone is the last thing after a tripod, a gimbal, a slider, a good PC.

AI is also bad news for agencies, eventually stock image users will be able to download cheap versions of AI software and get the images they want without paying subscriptions. In the medium term, AI will not only kill the contributors but also the agencies
It will not kill and will not even create competition. I dealt with one program that converts HD to 4k and removes any noise from the video, but it needs a very powerful PC to work, and even on a powerful PC it takes a lot of time. As a result, the cost of a PC and electricity will block the profit.

One can easily rent a cloud GPU at very cheap price.
ok, when you rent it and create something there, tell me.

Adobe Stock / Re: AS rejections
« on: November 14, 2022, 04:17 »
I opened a new AS account two months ago and in the first few days I was able to upload about 500 videos without any problems and very quickly.
But since about four weeks almost no video is accepted from me. Mostly 10/10 media end up in the "data problem" folder. Sometimes only 9/10 and sometimes only 6/10.
I can upload almost no more video.
SS accepts the same videos all. They are technically ok.
Have already written to support twice, but they won't tell me what this "data problem" is : "Unfortunately I cannot provide you with specifics on each rejection."
Can anyone tell me what this means?
With what program do you upload the video and in how many streams? Upload videos in no more than 3 streams.

Do I need model release or personal property for rose image?
No.

Times have changed in the stock imagery industry. Mediocre and below quality work just doesn't cut it anymore to consistently earn the big dollars.
On SS yes, on other stocks no. On other stocks, you can continue to consistently earn money. But here its not even about the quality of the portfolio, I was just surprised by the amount for the video, which no one had seen on this forum before. We never knew there were commissions like this on SS. And even more so at a time when the income of the majority decreased by 2-3 times.
And I do not think that you are right in your conclusions. The stock industry initially does not imply professionalism, it is an amateur market. Prices for stock content are far from the prices for professional work.

And I just want to say, for any disbelievers, I have seen another video commission from SS as large as Pace's.
To believe or not to believe is a personal matter, as in religion, the church. But a link to a screenshot of the income from the SS would be the best confirmation.
But all this is not very important, it is enough that we saw at least one screenshot in this thread. Previously, such income was only on the getty, but now the unprofitable SS has shown such income. All this is extremely strange and not fair. Most of the creators suffer from a lack of sales, and someone gets $ 800 for one video. SS breaks another bottom!

If you're smart enough,  you'll find my ports easily  ;)
Did your stock income increase after uploading to tiktok?

1441
If you're smart enough,  you'll find my ports easily  ;)
I dont need it, the main thing is that buyers find you.

1442
We were discussing about tiktok here   :)
Yes, tiktok is not the network where you can advertise videos from stocks. Only unless to find buyers directly.
But, perhaps, you can add your nickname on the stocks to the tags, and also indicate the stock nickname during registration. Then people will be able to search by this nickname and find you on stocks.
Perhaps you did.

1443
And on Instagram, you can also add links to the video.

1444
It is not allowed to add link in video.
On YouTube you can add, on Pinterest you can, on Twitter you can. You mean there.

1445
I have 45k followers on TikTok account full of aerial timelapses. Tried to add Pond5 affiliate link on my profile but never got any luck.
And if you add a link to the video on pond5 in the description of the video in tiktok?

And how on Pond5, do they often buy laps from a drone?

Midjourney advancements in 6 months:

Drawings, cartoons, I don't see any threat. And I don't see any threat to the video at all. I can imagine how long it takes to fiddle with the program in order to describe what you need, to quickly buy a ready-made real photo. And what kind of software resources are involved, how much is it in terms of time, in terms of costs, I'm not talking about creating a video.

1447
It LEARNS from other workand creates it's own content.
It will still be necessary to check whether he creates his own content or takes other people's work as a basis. So, if he takes your photos as a basis, then the stock should still pay you for this. I'm not talking about the fact that the rules forbid creating content based on someone else's work, for such a ban and judge.

1448
Videos will probably take more time. Maybe so long that it won't be a thread to current stock videographers in their lifetime. But one day.
I agree with your conclusion. Everything else is of no interest to me. Arguing for the sake of arguing is pointless. When stocks start offering videos created by AI, then well talk and see what a video competitor has appeared there.

Video has already started

1. This is just research. It is also not clear how everything works there, it is quite possible that in the final video they use fragments of someone else's video, and this is a copyright infringement and no one will sell it on stocks.
2. There is no such thing in stock agencies and is not planned.
3. Everything on this site is cartoons, i.e. animation. Yes, perhaps those stockers who create animation or 3D rendering in 10 years will begin to feel competition in this segment.
4. I'm creating a live stock video and I don't see any threats.
5. Yes, it is quite possible that there will be many such sites, but these will not be stock agencies, and the content there will be extremely specific, it will definitely not be my buyers who will buy there. And how copyright issues will be resolved there is another question.

Dall-e I think. Just wait.
Wake up when they start. If we all live to see that time.
