One thing that I've not seen on ANY microstock sight is a property release form, and yet I've had rejections that say I must supply one. To cap it off, this usually happens when the site already has (unreleased) images of the same thing in their catalog.

I never even thought of that. I tried downsizing all the way to 1600x1200, and while the noise is not as noticeable, it's still there.
Make sure to use the 'Bicubic Smoother ' option when you downsize. Also, pay attention to IS sizing: XLarge= 2800 x 4200 Large= 1820 x 2730 Medium = 1134 x 1701 This means that ALL of your shots - even the ones that you don't downsize - will be sold on IS as 'Large'. Given the nature of your camera, you run the risk of noise rejection if you don't downsize.

Isn't TGS published in Vancouver too? Yep, it sure is. It's a very high profile publication round these parts, and I got a lot of "I knew that had to be you!" comments when people saw it. What I really want to see is one of mine on the side/back of a bus. I'll have arrived once that happens! (big smile)

...it also made the top 50 on SS for about a week.
Most of the photos I get rejected now are also for articacting....usually people on white backgrounds...I have no clue how to fix it. They look good to me....and to all the other micro sites....but IS sees something...
Tom
Congrats on the success, perkmeup - if things keep going this way, you'll not be an engineer much longer!

Somebody should educate this reviewer that the swirl is not a trade logo but a safety mark. All turbine engines I saw have it ...
It's trademarked by General Electric. Given the necessity of such safety markings, I think it's a silly thing to have trademarked. Have you ever seen this
? (not at all gory, and he fared better than you might expect)

Here's a shot of mine on the front cover of The Georgia Straight, Canada's largest free weekly newspaper. It looked mighty nice printed that large!

I have no experience with your camera, but considerable experience in IS rejections. (grin)
Have you tried downsizing your images to iStock 'Large' size (1820 x 2730)? This might go a long way in getting rid of your rejection gremlins.

But in Australia... just for fun the gov "gave" the local aboriginals a place called Ayers rock (Ularu) a large monolith in the middle of the desert then years later the aboriginals decided it was a religious place and therefore you can't sell images of it.. and the government made the laws retro. go figure.
Wow, do you ever sound bitter. Some may find what you wrote offensive, and you may want to watch out for that.

I imagine that IS top sellers earned around $1000 that day.

School starts a few weeks prior to Labor Day in most states, and those with families have already taken their allotted vacation time by Labor Day rolls around. School starts immediately after Labor Day here in Canada.

I also got a lot of those. I had been to FT before reading my email, so I knew it wasn't true. I wished sales had resumed to me, one week now without any...
Regards, Adelaide
A whole week without a FT sale? My condolences. I hope things start changing for you soon.

I usually resubmit the shot isn't trivial. Given the usual vagueness of FT rejections, I downsize to IS 'Large' size (5+MP) if needed/possible and resubmit after a few days. I'm going by my gut, but I think that more than half the time the image is accepted.
Now if it sells, that's another story ...

I've got Friday, Saturday & Sunday uploads in there. I'm going to sit on things until the problem (if there is one) gets sorted out.
Hey, my stuff's all been approved ... I should have written about it earlier!

This may be an excellent chance for people to get a used Canon 1Ds MkII as pros begin to unload theirs in favor of the newest stuff. It wouldn't surprise me if the price for a used one drops below the price of a new 5D - keep your eyes open if you're in the market!

Yes thats why we Europeans are so bad photographers we cannot afford the equipment
Ha ha, funny coming from the guy who is a finalist for Istock's punctum awards.
Huge congrats by the way. Are you keeping a scrapbook? Your momma must be so proud.
Way to go, Freezingpics!

It's copyrighted and trademarked up the ying-yang, but most sites will accept a Concorde image. The noteable exception is, of course, iStock.
The easiest way to check if a site will accept accept a particular image is to do a search for it on that particular site. In the case of the Concorde you'll probably find a few images that are nearly identical to yours.

Why not try Flickr?
It doesn't sound like you're using the shots commercially, so you probably can get by with an 'okay' from the photographer.
