But what will happen if I am killed in a car accident without last will document?
If you live in the US you have to go through probate, even with a will, but if you die without one the courts have to decide where the money and how much go to the different heirs. It is quite an expensive process if you have heirs fighting over what they feel is theirs, it also depends on what state you live in. Like I said in a pervious post, we have already spent $12,000.00 and are not even done with the battle yet. Probate can cost upwards of $20,000.00 to $50,000.00 depending on the complexity of the estate. So to sum it up....you better get a will, it's not nearly as costly, only a filing fee and that's about it. So get a will.

Reminds me of the keywording and description like what Capture NX has. That has always been a feature I liked about Capture, but I don't like to use it for editing that often. It'll sure make things easier. I'm going to give it a try...thanks for the link xposurepro

Unfortunately I'm only a few dollars away to reach my first payout with them in a year, mind you, it wont brake me to loose that money either, but after so much work uploading to the site I feel I deserve to get pay the pennies I've accumulated...
Yeah I agree [email protected] your that close then hang on, but that $5.60 was from a sell right before they changed everything....I beleive that was in June or July if I remember right.

Another suggestion....buy any magazines that have any thing to do with food or cooking then look at the photos that are in there. That is the look you need to try to acheive. Like simsi said....you have to be able to see what the buyer would want. I don't subscribe to any magazines but do get alot of business ones just because and I always look to see the style they use for their ads. Don't try to copy what they have, just let it give you an idea of the composition and color they are looking for

I don't see what the big deal is with switching. Ebay everything and buy a new system.
Good point....if all else fails...just ebay it!! Never real thought of that one

One thing you have to remember is not to use any thing that has a pattern that could be copyrighted. The bigger agencies would reject for that reason. I'm referring to the floral pattern on the plate. Its got to be generic for it to get through. And by the way the same rules apply to clothing so its gotta be generic also.

If $5.60 breaks me then I'm in bad shape...... No realy I don't really care, I just wanted to get off there so I wouldn't have to worry about it anymore. As far as deleting the account, I just wrote to customer service and ask if I had to delete each picture one by one or could they do it for me because I wanted to close my account. It was closed the next day, so if your planning on doing that, I'd do it that way since it would take forever to delete them one by one.

I just e-mailed customer support and had them delete my account. They did it the next day...now for my $5.60...I didn't even ask for it and they didn't offer it...That tells you how good their sales are there.

I know I was singing the praises of the Huey earlier, but it seems to have gone bad or something.
Tried calibrating my monitor with my new computer and the picture came out greenish. Did it several times always with the same result.
I also tried calibrating a new monitor with my old computer - the one the Huey had worked on. That also came out looking green.
After some research, turns out that there is a hardware issues with the Hueys. They have a tendency to give a magenta or greenish cast.
Don't know why it worked for me in the beginning and now stopped...?
After reading a boatload of reviews I ended up getting the Eye-One Display 2. Hopefully will have better luck with that.
My monitor is quite good even without calibration, but I will feel a lot more comfortable editing images when I know it's properly calibrated.
I didn't know that about the Huey's , Thats what I use. I always notice the colors being on the warm side but never gave it much thought. SO maybe my eyes were working right.

I earn on all the sites.....outside of Fotolia...but iStock is the biggest earner by far even though my uploads have been very far and few between at the present time, what is on there keep selling.

Just my personal opinion... I would hold off on Shutterstock until you had about 100 good images that are reviewed and accepted on another site. That way when you pass the initial review... you can take advantage of the "Honeymoon" period there. That Newbie Exposure is great while you have it.
Oh yeah I remember that wonderful feeling....lol. Actually I got on iStock before Shutterstock. It was quite frustrating and hard to understand, but heh when it happened I was in hog heaven!!!

I think N/A is search by catagory because there are alot of my older images sold under that so it wouldn't be by a search of new images and there were four older images that are similiar in content that all have N/A, so I would assume that would be buy catogory

The standards of the bigger stock agencies have really become picker and picker over the years and will continue to to do this. You might as well forget those floral shots, those sunset shots unless they really pop out at you. Most of your big 6 if not all reject these because they already have thousands of these type images and won't accept them any more. Just do a search for the type of images that you usually shot and you'll get an idea how many images they have in that catagory

That is exactly the reason that a new photographer really needs to find a camera shop that will let you compare the two and learn from posts like these. There are so many things to take into consideration. Like cost of lens as well as all the accessories that go with it. Not all salesmen in camera shops know what is good about each camera and what isn't so take some advice from forums as this as to what each photographer likes about their camera and why. It would really help to decide.

snaphappy....the one most important thing is this....don't get discouraged when you get rejections, don't give up just because of this....you can actually learn from this. Actually after awhile you get use to it because if you are on several sites, some reject and some accept the same image. All sites have their own type of images that sell well. Just don't get discouraged if you are serious about microstock......with time you get better and better and learn from your mistakes

There are so many sites that claim you can make huge money with microstock. Well unless you can put all your time and spend alot of money at it, and even then you don't make millions, but you could make a decent living but not untill you get a good size portfolio built up so that can take years to do depending on how much time you are able to spend and the content of those photos

You got a good point there leaf. Those lens can cost a fortune and unless your camera pooped out along with the lens, which is really rare, then you'd stay with the same brand.
I'm sure there are some of you out there that own both and wonder which one you perfer?

Question is this...how many of you have owned a Nikon then changed to Canon and why...or how many have owned Canon then changed to Nikon and why.
It seems Canon owners always stick with Canon and Nikon owners always stick with Nikon. Ever wonder why?
I'm just curious as to why.

I'd try Dreamstime also. If you want you can post some of your photos to the Photo Critique section of this forum and get some feedback by some of the photograhers here. It would be a big help so they could tell you what would work and what may not work.
