I just got an email from getty for payment date and payment amount.
for iStock? The only email I've had from Getty today is the one requesting imagery of Christmas in India.

You can see which files you've sold in August using the Getty contributor app... but you can't see the amount you've sold them for thou.
Can you tell us where to find this app, please? Someone mentioned it on here recently, but didn't follow up when asked.

How bizarre - you complained about the announcement not being made instantaneously on social media, yet you're not on the social media they announced it on! (You are perfectly entitled not to be on Fb, but it doesn't put you in a strong position in this case!) For all I know, they may have announced it elsewhere (I don't check Twitter very often, and amn't on any other SM), but IMO if it's been officially announced on their own forum, they have announced it.
And BTW, their contract doesn't say they have to tell us by the 25th, it only says that
"5. Compensation
a. iStock agrees to pay you royalties (the Royalties) within 30 days after the end of each month in which the license or sale was made (except for royalties payable on subscription downloads, which shall be paid in the month following the end of the applicable subscription term, and when sales reporting is delayed, whether made by a Distribution Partner or otherwise, in which case payments will be made in the month following the date such sale is reported)
So they have broken our contract if they don't pay us by the 30th, but the rest isn't contractual.
Not sure I care about rules TBH - they will ban me if they want, I have no concern... anyone report if you want, it is beyond my concern...

Funny you care that little, yet here you are, caring enough to complaining with slight basis. I'm 'annoyed', but I checked the contract 1. The forum you mentioned doesn't give me any information...
There is an official announcement by Kelvin on the page before the page you linked to. I.e. you linked to page 3, the announcement is on page 2. And in fact, you directly linked to a statement by Kelvin with further information, so ...? I wasnt talking about payment, I was talking about statements... I thought statements had to be reported by the 20th?

Is there any good answers to why they wont't let us know about a sale immediately like on the other stock sites?
It's because we get a proportion of sub sales, not a flat rate, so the sub needs to expire before they know how many sales were made during the sub. As an exclusive that works out better for me, as my average sub sale nowadays is much higher than when it was a flat rate.
They could report the fact that an image was sold though
They could, and Content Statistics aren't the same, but you can at least see which files are garnering interest. Don't put me into a position of seeming to defend them!!!

I have no idea what your specific situation is, but in your terms of service it says:
"Compensation
Shutterstock shall pay you a royalty for each unique download of Content for which Shutterstock receives payment. The current royalty rates are set forth on the Earnings Schedule, which schedule is incorporated herein by reference. If a customer downloads the same item of Content more than once, you will be paid once only. Please note that there may be a reporting delay for customer downloads reflected in your Shutterstock contributor account."

Hello, I just made a new sale on Alamy. The buyer paid a whopping $1.25. Is that even possible? I hardly ever make a sale on Alamy. For that money it's not worth uploading and all that time consuming tagging.
Yes, perfectly possible with NU, distributor, bulk discount sales. You can opt out of NU and distributor sales, but I think only in April. Micro 'queered the pitch'.

On the 19th of september I finally received info that I have 6 sales for August. However, when I look at my profile and 'downloads year to date' it says I have 28. Is this because I have 6 sales in August and 24 more in September?
Yes Further, and to make things even more perplexing, when I click on royalties it gives the message "Royalties data will not be available until your first transaction has occurred. Please try again next month."
Why is this the notification if my sales now show up as 6 and my downloads are 28? How do I have no transactions?
Sales $$ for August are due to be reported today, as it's the 20th of the month. Sales in September should be reported on or before 20th October, etc. Read the top sticky in iStock's Help forum.

Why would anyone tell their secret? Then everyone would be doing the same, eating into their income, meaning they wouldn't be able to live exclusively from micro. Clue: it involves a lot of expense, hiring locations, models, props, hairdressers, makeup artists, lighting, etc etc etc.

I hope you've taken out a support ticket, no-one here can help or explain if it has gone missing. Have you cross-checked by looking for individual files in a sitewide search, rather than just your portfolio?

Because you might already have a subscription, so if you'd happened to renew in the last month, it wouldn't be that great a deal.

(NB, "50%" isn't a ratio, "1 in 2" is. Just sayin'.)
Not sure where you saw that, but the 50% acceptance was not mentioned in ANY promo blurb that I read. And that includes the general news feed I read just today (Sunday, Sept 16) on this subject. I read it quite carefully to see if I had missed it, and nope, they talked about the "$300 revenue or 300 media accepted" but NEVER mentioned the "50% acceptance" requirement...
Like I said, it's in the OP on this thread, which is the only place I've seen the offer mentioned (I don't submit to Ft/Adobe).

You could consider getting a visual bilingual dictionary from your language to English. Dorling Kindersley do a lot, but I'm sure there are others in the market.
