I got the same e-mail, even though we went separate ways some time ago  ;D

^

Thanks for expressing my feelings better than I ever could. That part made me smile, though:

...In case you can't tell from the above, I'm very, very angry about the way you're handling this...

enigmatic founders? I doubt they really mean that, but "difficult to interpret or understand; mysterious." is how I'd describe quietly extending the time to pay contributors :)

Someone got their adjectives mixed up, they were probably looking for charismatic :)

So I guess they aren't late (but I thought it used to be the 15th)?

Thanks for digging that up - and, yes, I'm pretty sure it used to be the 15th. Maybe in the next months it slowly moves on to the 18th  ;)

Still waiting here

Yes, received funds on 13/12/2013 using MB.

Mixed signals, then?  ;D

Thanks everybody for their answers, I'll wait a day or two before I contact them...

123RF / December payment?

Shouldn't we have been paid by now?

Or, to ask a different question: Has anyone received money from 123RF this month?

iStockPhoto.com / Re: iStock: Unreleased Private Homes
« on: December 14, 2013, 12:00 »
A search for "house" in "Photos" gives more than 640.000 results. Someone has to go through this number, decide whether each photo fulfils the criteria (if interior: is it unique or recognizable, if exterior is it one house or more and is it only as background or the main part of the image), and act accordingly...

I don't see how they will deal with that amount of work? Ideally there would be a grace period to give everyone who has a property release a chance to upload/e-mail it to them before they start weeding out - but this of course would generate even more administrative work  :o

Also one has to wonder: What will be next? Dogs, cats, horses, or ducks, even?

I hope the fix sales while they are at it. So far I had two in November, that's very low, even by my (or IS) standards  :P

"Notional Principal Contracts" sind zum Beispiel Aktien-Swaps und sonstige Swap-Geschfte (siehe hier: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Notional_principal_contract.

Das es bei Deinem W8-BEN ausschlielich um die Einknfte aus der Stockfotografie geht, kannst Du den Absatz getrost ignorieren (also kein Hakerl machen) - habe ich auch getan, funktioniert wunderbar  :D

General Stock Discussion / Re: October Earnings
« on: November 01, 2013, 06:00 »
I had a spectacular month on SS - and I do mean spectacular, 50% over my long time average and I'm there since 2006.

BS and DT were doing very well, if not spectacular.

IS produced two very good weeks at the beginning of the month, and completely imploded after that.

FT didn't produce anything, but then I quit three months ago  ;D

A single sale at Alamy, but that at $315 - so to sum it up: I'd like more months like that, please  :)

And why not raise royalties to 50/50, wait ... no ... I'm having fantasies again ...

You should get that looked at as soon as possible  ;)

50/50 royalties at a Getty outlet - oh, wait that pig over there seems to be sprouting wings  ;D

...I've seen dozens of positive reviews posted on many different sites. (Try google)...

I took your advice and googled "dmca.com review". The only thing coming up and looking remotely like a customer testimonial was this little gem:

http://answersnext.com/webmaster/websites/dmca-com-service-review-does-it-really-take-content-down/

Maybe you could point out the "dozens of positive reviews", because I obviously suck at googling them myself...

Adobe Stock / Re: Is Fotolia dying? Or what happens?
« on: October 29, 2013, 03:44 »
I don't. The only thing they have are stills, and the only reason I keep them there is inertia- I'm too lazy to figure out out to kill the whole thing.

Just send them a message to close your account. That worked for me after their last rate change, and it worked surprisingly fast. Photos were gone from the site within 24 hours...

Don't forget to tell them why you close the account  ;D

iStockPhoto.com / Re: Confusing Discounted Pricing
« on: September 24, 2013, 00:09 »
More than the strikethrough, the bit that's confusing me is the assertion that 4 is half of 10 and 6 is half of 15 etc  :o
Thanks for putting a song in my head:

"Now, if 6 turned up to be 9,
I don't mind, I don't mind.
If all the hippies cut off their hair,
I don't care, I don't care...."

I can't wait to see the reaction when I tell my wife "Sorry, dear, it's a contravention of my contractual terms to tell you how much I earn, now or ever again".

Maybe the classic: "I could tell you, but then I would have to kill you..." would be received better?  ;D

iStockPhoto.com / Re: iStock now reading metadata!
« on: September 12, 2013, 08:16 »
I'm no fan of iStock's treatment of us, but I wanted to say I submitted some vectors yesterday and found that their interface read the metadata in my JPG versions. I was pleasantly surprised.

Good Lord! There's no telling which exciting features will be next - FTP upload, maybe?  ;D

All joking aside, it's good to see that some things change for the better on the contributor's side...

Quote: "announcements and plans that we make in June, will likely not all be the exact same plans that we have in August."

My favourite line.

Well, a fault confessed is half redressed, as they say  ;D

"Participation in the Bridge to Bigstock is by invitation only. We are inviting Shutterstock contributors with high performing portfolios. .......

I had an invitation for bridge two years ago - and my portfolio was not performing high at that time - i didn` t  join bridge...

My portfolio isn't exactly high performing, either, but it does fill a niche (editorial sports photography) and that's probably the reason why I got invited.

Found the same photo in my morning paper. Interestingly enough it had a Reuters byline there - thankfully the text explained it was actually taken by Kate's father  :)

I wish I had sales that could disappear :o I'm having an absolutely dreadful month on 123RF...

To the TO: I had this happen to me before (sometime in May or June, I think) but the stats were complete again the next day.
