Has anyone experienced a discrepancy in term of earning of a particular download too? For instance, a download shown in the microstockr app is usd 0.69 cents but the earning report shown in email is usd 1.43. It happened quite often in my adobe account of late.
Who should you trust? An app or the adobe site.

I really didn't expect this place to be such a hostile environment, there's some toxic people here but i'm glad everyone isn't like this. Thank you to the 1 genuine response iv'e had from this forum.
We might seem hostile because you are asking personal questions about private information that asks business details of what makes income and a living for some. You didn't identify yourself properly to start. People are going to be suspicious and resent prying questions. Don't call us toxic or blame us for your poor introduction and lack of transparency.

Disappointed. I do not want to see my best sellers. I want to see what is selling. I have been getting one email with image of one photo only though sold more which I can tell through total $$ figure. I like to see what particular images are selling. I liked getting indovidual emails. Sure would be nice to get that option back even if it is opt in.
Daily digest of what sold, not top seller of the day.

very simple , doable site since the beginning. I think the fat Lady is singing. shame.
Are they one of your 9 sites or just an observation? I closed 123RF long ago.
One day he says one number, the next another, he just makes up things and can't remember or doesn't care. Last month he said he was down to 5 or 6, last week was 8. Don't wait for an answer, he's not going to get pinned down to one number if he can keep changing what he makes up.

I just figured this up the other day for iStock. RPD at 40%: 2008 1.85 2009 2.44 2018 3.59
40% of what for what? You know what they charge? How's your total income on IS since 2008?
My RPD Alamy is $50 only 2 sell a year, the number RPD means nothing.
Volume was much higher before 2012. Competition up, sales down, income down. But I don't feed the parasites or the race to the bottom, might be different for desperate people who put their work anywhere that will take it, probably worse for them. If you feed the bottom agencies you are stealing from your own earnings, forcing prices down.
The OP's question was specifically about RPD.
My mistake assuming he wanted both.

Using Jo Ann's post, No leverage then No union.
Somehow leaving the agency that makes me the most money SS would have no effect on anything except make me lave Microstock, as there would be no income from the rest worth working for. Final suicide is another good term for what some are saying they want. I like getting those outside of the forums to join, the big contributors is the first step, and somebody get to the other language forums.

One part if the problem is that we've always been reactive, we struggle against companies that cut commissions but do nothing against the ones that had low commissions to begin with. We should do a massive ask for fair commissions from companies like SS, istock, getty. Petitions, multiple mails, even roping in fair trade government/international bodies to help. That'll also help players like Pond5 maintain royalties. Maybe we can take their help in ensuring that the race to the bottom does not happen
The only solution is to unionize. As much as many of us would resist, a union where we all collectively agree to work together...refusing to submit to agencies that pay less. Agreeing collectively to set certain price policies and standards.
It's headed in that direction. It's just a matter of time. Just as it has formed in the past when people asked: You want to pay me how much for picking your cotton? You're going to pay me how much for working in your sweat shop? A union is the only answer. It's now just a matter of someone getting it started.
You aren't working for the company, you aren't picking their products, you are working for yourself. If you want to boycott or stop uploading, you only hurt yourself. There are another 10,000 artists who will fill your spot. And for a petition what will that do, hurt their feelings? To form a union you need something to hold that the company needs or wants. Labor for example. What does anybody with 10,000 pictures have to hold against the agency with 250 million images? If you can find that, you can start a union. If not, you're just imagining that the agencies would listen. No power, no union.

Not a good month here..
Not here either. I see the poll here SS has been dropping but is higher then IS exclusive now. Are more leaving or did the Exclusive income drop?
I suspect very few exclusives (probably fewer than 5) report now, and I'm pretty much a bottom feeder these days (since subs, PA etc.)
Good thought maybe Leaf can tell us.
I think exclusive numbers only count if that's the only entry. If you have RM at Alamy or video anywhere else your earnings get reported as nonexclusive.
That's right. It is only exclusive for people who only vote for iStock. it's not a perfect system, I know... and yes - there are probably very very few people who vote as an exclusive.
Could you add iStock exclusive as one agency and make better results? Or would that drop down to the low earners because not enough votes.

Great news. Googles,Yahoos, Microsofts have destroyed the livelihoods of thousands just stealing content without any shame. Those times are over at least in the European Union. Now these leechers can run to countries where copyright is not enforced. But here it is over.
I don't think this applies to search and find. How do you find anything on the Internet without using a search, I'd like to know?

l have no idea why anyone would need this shot but they do, over and over . . . inside of a circus tent
I wouldn't call it a bad picture
I'd agree, many aren't bad pictures but they are not usual Micro pictures.

Can you explain how encouraging people to buy clips with a 30% royalty because P5 is giving 40% makes any sense? Seems to me that the anger should be directed towards the sites with lower royalty rates.
I can't and I'm going exclusive with Pond5 for almost everything from now on. I won't upload to the 20% sites.

Finally it was not so bad news. They were very reactive and listened to us. The possibility to have two accounts is nice. I will keep my old account untouched and create new one, exclusive. All my new videos will be exclusives to Pond5.
All my new videos that are worth the higher price and higher commission will go to Pond5 the usual microstock will go anyplace. I'll take the 10% raise for my good works.

Except I really think you are taking this unique subject theory to the extreme. A buyer would need that unique subject and then a very special video, only available on P5 of that very unique subject. Yes they could sell, but not often.
The example I used was of a non-white family in front of the Eiffel Tower. Is that an extreme view of uniqueness? Would it be very special? Seems like a very simple idea that would have a lot of sales potential but just isn't covered now. I've said it a few times already but a unique clip or image doesn't need to be anything extraordinary, a great piece of art, a subject no one ever thought of before just something in demand that hasn't been covered (or a better take on something that has been covered). There are still a lot of possibilities out there especially for video.
Easy, something that nobody every thought of before. Or I can just fly over to Paris, gets some models of not white and shoot some video of them There are lots of subjects out there where there are no good images or videos and a buyer can't really just use something close.
Can you give an example of something? It would be interesting to see what you have in mind.
a) Close up pictures of mars, Saturn, the sun. Close up view of live satellites orbiting the earth (not computer generated). b) One on one interviews with celebrities, presidents, popes, etc exclusive 'behind-the-scenes/VIP/backstage' content c) Difficult to obtain footage (i.e., North Korean soldiers marching, videos WITH signed releases of people in a live gunfight, genuine gore, car chase aerial view, etc) d) FPV of animals chasing each other, perrigrine falcons chasing prey, etc, etc.
Just a few ideas off the top of my head...
Or I could book a flight to the moon and get some unusual location shots that nobody else has. Go out into the wild for a month and wait for some once in a lifetime shot to happen. North Korea would welcome us documenting their troops. I'll just go ask famous celebs for video interviews, until somebody says yes, because they want to be on microstock. This is all so easy, I don't know why more of us haven't thought of that or done them already.

Not really. 250 pics and 1000+ views. I wonder how many pics you will need to catch a sale? Since you can set the price and they pay 50% (if I'm correct) you can earn a decent amount per sale

It's about how many pictures, I'm doing this wrong? 50% of nothing is 50% of still nothing.

They never sent me an e-mail about the problem. I had to come to this forum to learn about it.
I contacted support, and they just replied telling me to enter "forgot password." I have entered a "forgot password" request a few times. It promises that a reset link will be sent, but it never comes.
I wonder if this affects customers also, or just us lowly contributors?
Remind me never to complain about Getty again
Check your spam folder would explain no email no reset.

I think I might just move everything to Adobe Stock. Has anyone gone exclusive FT/AS? I haven't contributed work since ... well since whenever I realized that SS royalties were only 12.5 cents and I've got a hell of alot better things to do than sorting and uploading all of these for pennies. I like the quarters rolling in though ... and like the way that they're doing it (as a contributor AND a buyer). Even the subscription price seems more legitimate than the pricing model at other places.
I'm listening to this Seth Godin thing he said something like "The problem with the race to the bottom, is you might actually win"
I get like ... 2 payouts a year, like why . do I care. The self hosted site paid for itself and let me have at least the freedom of what to do ... I'm about sick of this crap.
When did SS change to 12.5 cents? I still get 38 cents minimum. https://submit.shutterstock.com/payouts

You need a new release for every model for every day for every shoot now? I thought the EXIF only had to match for editorial. Is this new that I need a release date match for every day?

At least this issue is gaining some awareness from Pixabay contributors.
https://pixabay.com/forum/chitchat-pixabay-related-or-not-14/interesting-article-about-copyright-infringement-8122/
Having read some of the comments made by Pixabay contributors on your link I am dumbfounded how naive these people really are and lacking in awareness that copyright infringement is theft.
They don't deserve to be called image producers or photographers
And the usual everything is free there are no rights people, to justify that why they steal images, change them and upload to pixbay. Call intellectual property not property that can't be stolen. We can understand a thief and they justify their actions by poor ideology excuses. Alex is right, if a blogger can't afford $1 we are in trouble and so are they. I will not give away my pictures.

Protection because maybe somebody was trying to hack your account, they do watch.

I have been getting them.
Every day.

Yep, but considering how much they reject and how low sales are it is probably just saving me time!
I was going to agree, why would anyone care about uploading to Canstock.
