rpd 0,30 cent..ridicolous...best month of download...a lot of 0,08 from canvas portal...istock is killing this business but people don't want undersea...better earn penny now...at least don't complain in future if ss or adobe don'tsell.
Same for footage...istock is undercutting other agencies...the result will be a fight on price...be prepared...

It's sad because every single sale you get on istock for pennies is a sale missing on other agencies that pay you fair...
Hmmm. iS earned me 250% in 2019 of what Alamy earned me, and I get 50% at Alamy and have about 10% more files there. Doesn't mean I love iS, and I wish Alamy did better; but it shows that what you said isn't necessarily true. I spent 2.5 years uploading only to Alamy, but in only one month out of eight years has Alamy earned me more than iS. Different people will have different subjects so different experiences, i.e. YYMV.
I was talking about footage not photo...

4. subscription option. (personally hate it, but its impossible now when shutterstock, pond5, envato & istockphoto are selling it for nothing)
We don't need any subscriptions!!! Adobe like ss is doing pretty well without it..

90 downloads and you get 13$?? You must be joking... I wouldn't spend a second of my life on this agency..

I think pond5 sales dropped for everyone..i have clips priced lower(running a test from months)at the top of the 1 page search and are not doing better than the others priced at the industry standard... So my conclusion is that missing sales are not going to low price seller but to other agencies indeed my sales are growing at adobe and steady at ss...plus obviously subscription plans grab some sale too!!! Unfortunately pond5 seems to not have any other strategy but lowering price to compete and it's not paying off..

0,20$ for a video sale??!! Seriously,do you need advice to leave this s... agency behind??i average 25$ per sale and i'm not exclusive with anyone... I left istock(not exclusive)6/7 years ago with no regrets.. Getty is driving a race to the bottom and all the agencies are fighting it lowering price...if you care about your business leave them and delete your port...

For me adobe was pretty solid till september..then it slowly declined month by month.. Do you guys know when the indexing change did start??maybe this could be the reason... I only sell footages...

I think they are testing different price levels..mine hd files are lowered to 66$ despite i priced them at 79$... Btw they give to the buyer a best price guarentee option,so if you sell your clips at lower price elsewhere they'll match that price...

25 for full hd, 50 for 4k.
That's the real industry problem..people tbat sell for pennies...i wonder if you sell the same clips on ss or adobe at 79/179$...
Did I ask for your opinion on my pricing?
not!! but i'm free to say what i think and i haven't been offensive...

Guys, I value everyone's opinion in my thread and I'm looking forward to see more people adding insight on the revenue sharing model, but take your personal fights somewhere else, please.
Its not a personal fight I just just dislike blatantly inaccurate information being passed off by by people with a vested interest in promoting Envato and then making veiled threats to "ban".
But I digress as to the revenue scheme operated by the likes of Envato it isn't worth the paper its written on. They started a share scheme 2 years ago and then pulled the legs from under it in June once they got their hands on "high quality images".
The revenue is now shared amongst their pet photographers, anyone else gets crumbs or nothing.
Welcome to envato...the agency that gives 50% of nothing...

Other than these sites (P5, SS, AS) is it worth uploading videos to any other site? Does somebody use StockSubmiter or something similar for uploading videos to multiple sites?
Yesterday I cancel my exclusivity, just need to wait 30 days.
P.S. Thanks everybody for answers about RPD. You helped me to finally made decision and break exclusivity.
In my experince(i'm 8 years contributors full time) it's worth to upload to any agencies that sell your work at 79/179 or agencies that let you choose the price..i'd avoid subscription agencies or agencies that sell your work for pennies...aka istock getty dreamstime and so on...

It's all about AI...i don't think any human being can be so inconsistent and stupid on curation...
I don't believe AI can be inconsistent. It is not one reviewer. Seems to me the quality control on reviewers is broken. If reviewers receive next to no training or supervision and are required to review at a ridiculous pace I wouldn't be surprised if some go bat dropping crazy.
AI it's very inconsistent...look at the keyword tool on any agencies...it can go pretty close but there will be always some mistakes..

they have a vested interest in not setting the price super-low.
Yes,like istock or subscription plan or pond5 suggested price of 25/50$...they are very interested to not setting super low price...

do you submit to ss or adobe or any other agencies that sell at 79/179$?? if yes choose that price ...easy... i don't even understand why on earth people let agencies set their price...it's like selling a car and ask the buyer how much he wants to pay...
172
« on: November 20, 2019, 08:56 »
my average rpd is: ss: 24$ as: 29$ p5: 23,50$ dissolve: 24$
i only submit to agencies with 79/179$ price... i quit istock years ago with no regrets...be aware that if you leave your port there it'll affect your sales everywhere like pond5 crew stated at the town hall...

So I just submitted a batch of images that included a bunch of self shot images. Every single one of them get denied with the reason of invalid model release. Ok cool, I figured reviewer was just having a dumb moment, maybe the automated system had a electrical fart, maybe I didn't fill something out. Well first time that was the case. I missed something on the release and I'll take credit for that one. Fixed it resubmitted and... WAM same rejection.
what? double check everything and this time it's all filled out. so I email [email protected]
Here is the explanation I got as to why the image was rejected.
I have reviewed your recent submission which got rejected under "Invalid Model Release" as we do not accept release in this format. We only accept release forms from the following agencies: 123rf Alamy American Society of Media Photographers Bigstock Corbis Dreamstime Easy Release (default release) Fotolia Getty iStockphoto
Shutterstocks accepts foreign language releases only from: Shutterstock Easy Release Getty Images iStockphoto Adobe Shutterstock's blank release forms are available through our Legal Center. You can attach the new release and resubmit the content for review.
If you have any other concerns, please feel free to contact us anytime.
Thanks, Mansa Shutterstock Contributor Care Team
This is where I'm really confused though. attached is a copy of the release I sent them. Am I missing something here? Are they reading the rules to the letter and shutterstock releases are only mentioned under foreign releases that this is no longer valid lol. Did the support staff just not even look at the release and just flipped an answer at me?
Do you guys have any idea?
They didn't even look at your release, simply copy and paste an answer...unfortunately it's how works curation at shutterstock nowdays.. The only thing you can do is resubmit untill it gets accepted...

Hello from Dissolve!
My name is George Georgeadis and I am a filmmaker/storyteller and the product manager here at Dissolve. I work directly with our contributors and I am beyond excited to introduce myself and Dissolve to you.
Dissolve is a new stock footage website by some of the founders and original creative minds behind Veer and iStock. We are 100% focused on selling footage and specializing in supporting the unique needs of footage buyers around the world.
We are looking to work with contributors that are as passionate about stock footage as we are. We believe that footage is at the heart of great storytelling and we are inspired by the work of this creative community.
I am not only a part the Dissolve team, but also a filmmaker and an exclusive stock producer for Dissolve, so I would like to encourage you to ask me any questions you have about Dissolve, about shooting footage, how to become a part of the Dissolve family or anything else you want to know.
We are happy to be on MicrostockGroup to start a dialogue about all things stock footage, and to invite you to become a contributor. Looking forward to meeting you all!
Here's our site: dissolve.com
Here's how to become a Dissolve contributor: contributors.dissolve.com
Why has the rate per clips set to $49? I get 14$ per sale and apparently cannot delete my catalog? Is this legal?
if you are/were a videoblocks contributors they lower your price to match videoblock/shittyblock price.....

Martha's kinder version of idiots or stupid, GRP = "Goofy Reviewer Problem.
I'm happy to add a new acronym, GRP, to the MSG vocabulary!
This morning, I got the following response back from the Shutterstock Contributor Care Team:
Hi Martha,
We will reach out to the review manager regarding the content in question and get back to you as soon as possible. Should you need any further information or assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Your patience and cooperation would be highly appreciated.
The part about my patience and cooperation being highly appreciated sounded promising, but I'm still waiting for an answer as to why of 2 of 11 videos submitted of the same state park were accepted while 9 were not, when none of them had a property release.
I'll post an update when I have one.
Good luck... I"ve been waiting months...still not response...
