3 years ago I got cs2 from ebay from one of those "power seller" with 99.9999 % positive feedback.  Paid something like $200. Got it but would not activate. Called Adobe and as soon as they heard the word "ebay" it immediately ended our conversation with "sorry can't help you".

Thereafter, I wrote a nasty comment as a feedback to degrade this guy status. Within 30 minutes he wrote back saying that he would reimburse me if I deleted the comment. I replied saying that as soon as I see the money in my paypal account that I will delete the comment.   Next day the money was in paypal and thereafter deleted the bad comment.

I guess some of those power sellers with high positive feedback take pride in this and would do anything to keep their rating as high as they can. Therefore, maybe they are a bit more reliable then the other lower ranked sellers.

Thereafter, although this was not the worst case scenario, I did not want to go through that experience again, so I bough cs3 from Adobe website and now I have cs4 suite downloaded from Adobe. Even if you don't make too much it is still deductible from your taxes in most countries (Check your local tax person for advice). Denis

Thanks Denis...that's the answer I was looking for. I really wondered about that. Thanks goodness I lost the bid on that software last night!
Again thanks...guess I'll be paying full price. I really hate to pay that high price when I'm wanting to get a Mac computor. I have Windows right now...but who knows it may be another two years before I get around to getting one. Just don't want to pay for the same software twice for two different kinds of computors. I'll proubably just continue using Capture NX.

Other than the legal issues, donding, how is the best way for using the offer of FREE screensavers?

I think the legalities have been worked out.  If not, I'll try some other kind of FREEbies.

I really don't know since I've never tryed it. Maybe someone else on here will be able to answer that better than I.

General - Top Sites / Re: The most unsatisfying site?
« on: April 27, 2009, 20:52 »
Fotolia is number 1 in my book!! I hate that site. Enough said.
Then 123 RF is number 2...just because I don't really care for the lay out of their site. Shoot I had to ask someone on here to find out where to find out what photo sold.   "Thank you whitechild ;D"

They don't hate you any more than the rest of us... ;D

Fotolia has it's own weird way of rejecting photo's. I really question rather the people that review the submissions are even photographers to begin with. I've been with them since late 2007...I believe that was when...not sure exactly..but it's been awhile and I have 193 files on there and have only sold 59!! The rejects always get accepted at other agencies and do great...the ones they select are usually not approved by other agencies and it is really hard to figure out the reason they reject them...so don't feel alone out there because you aren't..it's just "Fotolia's way of doing bad business".

Alot of people say it's the keywording and I've been getting the main keywords in the top seven and still no sales. I personally have about given up on them because it's more trouble than it's worth...really.

Well I got outbid >:(  ..it ended up going for 89.01 or something like that...someone had automatic bidding so every time I'd bid it would go higher...at least I helped out the person selling it..that is if it was a legit copy... :)

1682
Well the seller told me that she could just transfer the registration and that she'd done it before and she did sell a copy of Adobe illistrator and the buyer gave her 100% rating..She has photo's of the software  and manual...it's Photoshop 6.0 with an upgrade to Photoshop CS. It's currently going for 67.00...man it is tempting.

1683
Do you think that Adobe would consider it a pirated version if it was used and you used the same serial number that the other owner did?

1684
I was thinking of buying a used copy of Photoshop on E-Bay, but do any of you know rather I would run into an activation issue if the copy had already been activated on two computors? I was trying to research it on Adobe website and it really doesn't address the issue of reselling the copy to some one else. It just says something about having to deactivate it on "Your" computor...meaning the original registration owner..in order to reactivate it on another one.

I know windows is funny like that and just wondered if Adobe was that way to and if any of you have run into that problem...

i've never done it but when your talking about vintage motorcycles you may have a problem unless you took them at angles where you can't tell what make they are otherwise you'd have to have a property release from the manufacture of the motorcycle. You might be able to sneak them on a few sites but most of the main ones would reject them. Now as far as them being free I don't know if the same would apply. You might want to check that out before you go through all the uploading.

Newbie Discussion / Re: How do you keep track of your images?
« on: April 27, 2009, 14:20 »
Well the way I do it is by creating a microstock folder on my hard drive. I don't have a folder for each stock site except iStock because you can upload only 15 files every 7 days so I keep track of those under that folder. I also have a upload pending file where the files I'm waiting on approval for are put there, then when they are approved they are put in my approved file and the rejected ones that got rejected by all agencies I have in a separate file also. If one gets approved on one site and rejected by another...if they get approved on any site they get put in the approved folder. I upload the same shots to all the stock sites so it doesn't matter what went where.

Hope this helped. ::)

I didn't realize that vectors were just drawings. I figured you had to create them through a bunch of specialized software. I always wondered how they did it. I to went to college to be a art teacher and for many many years did oil painting as well as watercolor. I think I'll try to find that free software and give it a try also.
Question though is when using the pen tool .... is this controled be your mouse or what? I have a hard time being able to draw a straight line with my mouse. Stupid question proubably but was just wondering.

1688
Thanks everbody..that's kinda what I figured. I notice some stock sites just sit idol on weekends showing no sign of life..especially Shutterstock.

1689
If you've already processed them you can't. All you can basically do is rearrange those keywords...so before you process those files on-line be sure you didn't miss spell or forget keywords because if you did you have to go through the painful process of deleting and reuploading.
You'd think they would have figured out a way around that by now since they are trying to be more like the bigger sites with their "rejections ratio"

1690
That could be a very powerful tool. Even if it doesn't specifically apply to Microstock, I would think if people are Googling that term that stock agencies would be getting the same effect since the advertising as a buyer would be vital at that time.
Thanks for the info

1691
Do any of you plan your uploads for a certain time and day? I was wondering because it would be to an advantage for your approvals to be viewed during peak business hours I would think. That way they don't get buried in the pile of new photos. I usually upload late in the evening on weekends, but was just thinking rather that is the right time.

The reason I like deepmeta is not only because you can do you editing outside of iStock but also because after you upload your 15 and have to wait for the next 15 to free themselves, you can still add photos to DeepMeta and get them ready for the next one without having to wait till you upload again. I also always put my pending files in their own file untill they are approved and it makes it much easier to add those files and not have to worry about which ones you still needed to upload to iStock.

123RF / Re: Where to find what you sale
« on: April 17, 2009, 18:52 »
Thank you whitechild you really are helpful in so many ways...I really appreciate it. By the way I did find it..I always thought that link was for buyers. I guess I should have checked it out closer. It would really be nice if they all did it the same.. ;D

123RF / Where to find what you sale
« on: April 17, 2009, 17:21 »
Any one know where to look for what you sale? I can find the earning's but not what photo it was that sold. Also when you make a sale and it shows up on your days sales does it take awhile to show up on your monthly total. The reason I ask is because I had a previous sale then I made one today and it only shows an amount for one sale on there. That was why I was trying to find out what picture sold to see if maybe there is a delay in the total's.

I'm surprised that SS and DT didn't pick up on the copyright infringement there.

Nikon / Re: No interests at Nikon Cameras
« on: April 16, 2009, 17:33 »
D200 here...it's been a good camera but I think it's getting worn out...starting to have problems with my control dial..always got to shut the camera off then back on to change the aparture with aparture priority same with shutter priority. I don't know if it's a in camera setting I set wrong or just the camera getting worn out. If any one can suggest if I might have set something wrong let me know where to look for the setting...thats like looking for a needle in a haystack!....lol

Heh I'm so proud..I actually found one of mine on the internet..

http://www.carbonmanagers.com/blog/file/newsletter-articles/the-carbon-footprint.aspx

here's the actual picture

Don't know which agency it came from cause I've sold alot of these...but I was pleasently surprised to find it... ;D

1698
GRRRRRR....I got 175 pics on there right now and I guess the ones that have little or no views and not very good keywords I'll just delete and maybe rename and reupload. What a hassle...I wonder why they don't let you add to them?

1699
Well I've decided on giving it a shot by going in and rearranging my keywords and adding keywords, problem is it won't let me add more keywords. The only thing it will let me do is move the keywords that are already there up or down. ???
Is this suppose to be that way? If it is I guess I'm S... Out Of Luck!!!

1700
Another question...do you think it would be worth the time it takes to rekeyword all those pictures??? or would it be a waste of time?
