General Stock Discussion / freepik: another low player?
« on: November 10, 2017, 10:04 »
https://www.freepik.com/

Accidentally found them on the web. Your thoughts?

But wait, i need to grab a popcorn:) Just kiddin'

I think that BigStock was one of the agencies that followed the model that each actual print sale would generate one regular license (versus buying an EL to offer a number of prints for sale). This idea first surfaced about a decade ago (I think with Fotolia initially). Lots of contributors argued. We lost.

I wrote to them about infringement, we'll see their opinion regarding the subject.
I don't have any hopes, wrote to them just for fun.

Thanks for explanation!
I have portfolio on Bigstock. But I don't have EL sales there, so art.com could not sell my prints, in theory:)

Anybody heard of them?
https://eu.art.com/

I wonder where they get my images...

I just submitted a couple of files and everything looks the same to me - did I misunderstand what page you were referring to or is this rolling out in phases. I'm on the US West Coast
I have no changes too. I am in Germany in terms of ip. My colleague reported new interface in eastern part of Russia.

Newbie Discussion / Re: should I mask iPhone front face
« on: November 08, 2017, 02:10 »
Looks like you don't get the point.
I am talking about concrete device mentioned in the header.
You don't have full control over it. Landlord of it is company - not you.
Choose device that can be fully rooted and doesn't have beetle markers in it.
Privacy is what i am talking about.

Or, you could do what I did - download iOS 11.1 and turn your iPhone into a brick ;-)

Yeah, this fact also illustrates the whole mess with this tekno thingy.

Solidstockart makes sense and Alamy, Depositphotos not? Strange....the web page of Solidstockwhatever seems quite amateur in wording and such....

This is subjective list which mirrors my situation. So, you know what i am saying..

Stocksy / Re: Call To Artists is Open!
« on: November 07, 2017, 03:46 »
My application is pending for about month or so, same situation with FreshStock.
I think that they was overwhelmed with crappy pix. Anyway, i don't think they are better earners than SS.
Prediction is 98% accurate.

I'm shooting some videos with iphone and green screen.
Generally is it problem that the phone is instantly recognizable as iPhone, mainly I mean the round home button. Should I mask it?

I have seen some footage in Pond5 which clearly show iPhone with home button. But in some videos the button and or the speaker is masked.

Masking with a sticker or so looks kind of foul somehow and is quite troublesome to do in post.

Another wise suggestion is to mask front camera to prevent being recorded directly to the cloud.
More intelligent way: not to use *this phone* at all, of course only in case you care about constant leakage of private data and increased net traffic.
Otherwise you are good to go!:)

Good job ;). Thanks for your chart.

I see in your chart so far unknown stocksite for me: Solidstockart. You highlighted this stock site as recommended. Do you have some good experiences with this stock site? What about earnings ? Thanks ;)

Currently not accepting new artists

Yeap. It seems that they are trying to keep current contributor earnings level at acceptable rate. Similar stuff happening at Scandinavian stock.

"new" ESP istock web uploader is a piece of incoherent crap to work with. DeepMeta feels like DeepXXXX also.
Hardcore humanophobic alogical manipulations: that's their moto.
tip: to save your brains upload via stocksubmitter.

New Sites - General / Re: 500px distributors
« on: October 10, 2017, 13:01 »
ah 500px, i am going to drop awesome subscription in the next month.
Almost 2 million views, with close to zero sales.
I am not receiving money from them - they receive money from me.
That's definitely weird.

You made me look at my stats: I got an average $1.12/1k views ;) from a free account. But again, most viewers are not buyers, so these stats don't make too much sense. I'm only staying there for their marketplace, not for views, likes or meaningless "great job" comments.

Why would you pay them? Just to get that "Awesome" or "Pro" badge?

If it is about the unlimited upload option, I doubt many can create more than 7 compelling photos/week, able to standout among so many great photos on that site.
So if you upload more than 7 a week, it could be a good idea to limit yourself to the best 7, in order to keep your port clean and attractive.
I paid them for website template. Not worth it;)

Just drop the subscription and leave the images there. You might still earn some money back.
Thanks for advice, will do just like you said!

Glad you like it.

Solid gives me more than 123rf and Dreamstime together. But beware they have questionable licensing agreement (as for me i don't care about licensing).
Virtually all microstock sites already own our imagery without any restrictions. You can't control and influence on what they are doing. That is why i don't care.
Without pink glasses.

193
Added top-up arrow, for extra convenience. Some redesign also.

194
Added getmilitaryphotos.
Sub-items of categories finally counted up.

More than 300 microstocks, photo banks and agencies.
Hope you like it!

195
Cleanup some mess.
Removed obsolete sites.
Added new ones: Allvago, Lifeographies, Revolucy, StoryBlocks, Swoozo.

Enjoy!

« on: October 02, 2017, 06:30 »
First of all i'd like to say that this is not an AD, just trying to define myself to upload more stuff or it is not worth the effort?

Any chance to earn money with such portfolio?

Adobe Stock / Re: Similar images
« on: August 30, 2017, 10:57 »
Was banned recently. Reason - simillar images.

The reason was images simillar to your own images, or simillar to other contributors images?
similar to my own, they blocked account completly so I can't receive earnings anymore..

Was banned recently. Reason - simillar images. I am not into such sort of stuff, not doing more that 3 similar images and they are always different. It looks like they are punishing their slaves for educational purposes. Lowdown sh*t heads.

Guys, asking for your opinions. Would be neat to discuss the topic.

Delete your profiles. You can't do this?
There is another solution: delete your profiles.
Or another one: delete your profiles.
