I also experienced this sometime in the last 24 hours.
The last 7 images out of 290 currently in review jumped from "3 months ago" to "one year ago".
Attached is a picture (sry for the german screenshot ^^)

This ranking system is pretty meaningless for video contributors. It's obvious to me when I see people sharing screenshots of their rank on Discord that it is solely based on number of downloads not earnings. You're right - I've been observing this for a while now - the rank rises if you have a lot of downloads in a week, but with few but high downloads the rank still falls. So it seems to be all about the number of downloads without average selling prices (RpD) - which is particularly meaningless for video sellers and high-priced sales.

My ranking as of now is 1,220th with 9,808 photos in my Adobe Stock portfolio. Last week was at about the same ranking too. My lifetime ranking is around 1,600th. So, I made a progress after adding 3,000 AI generated photos since last September or so. I think many with higher ranking have a lot less photos/images on their portfolio. Hey blvdone, since the current ranking is somewhat behind schedule (this is not a real-time display), it would be more meaningful to post these values at the weekend. Less tends to happen at the weekend and the weekdays are usually included in the ranking on Sunday, which only shows "movement" every 1-2 days. Last week I had: - 149DL, position 3,260 - 38k assets - of which approx. 4k videos, 7k AI images, 27k photos (mainly backgrounds and textures that almost dont sell) Have a sunny day@all, Michael

Greetings to all, recently I received a notification on Adobe stock that my account has been deactivated, I don't know for what reason, can someone answer me. Any advice would be appreciated Only Adobe can answer why your account was deactivated. I also had such an account block once - the best thing to do is to contact Adobe's Contributor Support (as the page you actually see when you login should state), as far as I remember the email is contributor-support@adobe.com In my case, the reason for the block was the use of an artist name in my search terms for some images that I must have missed, which was a violation of the submission guidelines.

Also, regarding the submission limit, I didn't realise they had one, but I think it's never a good idea to submit everything at once anyway. Regularly uploading a few at a time generally seems to place you better in the algorithm. Thank you for the tip! That's what I've been doing with AS so far with a staggered upload - with Shutter I try to keep the work as low as possible, because the payment there is also "as low as possible"... But you're right, at least this way I already have material to upload for the next 2-3 months

What I also find a bit strange... although strange is rather normal by Shutter...
The announcement email says: "Review our Vertical Video Content Brief and upload your clips as soon as possible to ensure your work is showcased to our global network of buyers from day one!"
And if you then submit a few videos (50+) it says here : "You have reached your account's submission limit for videos. Please wait 24 hours to submit more content."
It can take a while to upload 1,200 videos...

@Cobalt: Thank you for listing some very interesting data!
The strong growth of the database seems to be declining massively and that is not surprising from our point of view - every year the download race starts anew and we earn little in the first quarter - conversely, the Q1 results at Shutter should actually be better than in the other quarters.
I have contact with some of Shutter's customers and they have been very dissatisfied with the quality of the material for a year or more now, and they also complain about the search because they can no longer find what they are looking for. So I immediately believe that subscribers are being "lost".
The AI income is currently still a kind of "salvation" for Shutter, but if the number of new images no longer increases so much and less and less good material ends up there, then Shutter will slowly but surely do away with itself.
I wouldn't mind, because what they've done with us contributors fits in very well with this endless spiral of greed.
Have a sunny day, Michael

For completeness: I had the same problem yesterday with the "double" plan. (See post somewhere above)
Today the german telephone support was available and they removed my payed plan and added the time difference to my new "code-plan" - it took a while but worked very well.

I have just been in contact with Adobe support about the double plans. The solution in my case ended up with canceling my paid plan, and keeping the redemption plan, which then got some extra days added for the days I lost on the paid plan. I have the same problem with the double plan - both are called "Foto Abo (20GB)" here in Germany -> one has 21 items -> other hast 29 items Tried to reach the support via phone and chatbot (btw. the chatbot in german is not working at all) -> on phone the automatic voice said after about 1min of talking and asking: "There is a problem with the phone lines - beep beep beep" (Btw. could not find any support email adress on the support center page in german)I guess I will have to use the same solution as Jens - cancel the paid plan before the next payment and use the other plan, that should work hopefully.

Thanks Mat for the info :-)
Nice to see that the requirements for the bonus program have only increased very slightly.

January 2024 for me was with some random stats: - about 30% below average - 65% from videos, 35 from photos - 42% of Shutterstock income - 13% of AdobeStock income (because of AI images in my case) - 8% higher than 123rf - 12% higher than Vecteezy

Sora is the big news of the day, but I am interested to know if its training set comes from Shutterstock's videos as part of their partnership with OpenAI, and if there will be any adequate compensation in the Contributor fund. This question was also on my mind today... I would just guess that there will only be compensation, if at all, if someone finds out whether this was really done with Shutterstock data (and therefore with ours) and it then boils up high enough in the press. It certainly won't come from Shutter itself and I'm also involved with about 4,000 videos there. Let's see if something comes of it when the new system goes live.

Thank you for your values for the Magic Creator Payment - that actually makes it even more interesting. It does make you wonder why some of them obviously don't even display any values and others do it more or less normally - that doesn't exactly increase the already low level of trust (for example due to these 99.5% rejections within seconds). To put it bluntly - I assume that there is something wrong with the billing, at least with some providers. I've been waiting for a support response to these rejections for more than 2 months now and I'm sure there won't be any more. But maybe the tide will turn at some point and Canva will tell us verifiably how the calculation for this is... (at this point I had to laugh myself) you can still dream Have a sunny day@all, Michael

Hello everyone,
after the Magic Creator Payments are at 0 for the second month in a row, I wonder where they have gone?
They were already ridiculously low anyway, but for 2 months now there has been nothing there - not even $0.00 but just an empty field?!
Magic Creator Payment Sept 2023 - $2.01 Oct 2023 - $2.00 Nov 2023 - $0.24 Dec 2023 - empty field Jan 2024 - empty field (the monthly income is at about the same level in all 5 months with increasing applies and exports)
Is it the same for you?
I wonder if we are being treated correctly here? Or will the income perhaps still be delivered later? (please don't take this question seriously ^^)
Yes, I know that I'm talking about Canva and the phrase "being treated correctly" is a mockery anyway, but maybe it's just me and you have regular income.
Have a sunny day, Michael

Hi Ralf, I've just had a look at the Adobe "Illustrative editorial" page. German page: https://helpx.adobe.com/de/stock/contributor/help/illustrative-editorial-content.htmlThe only point I could think of is this line: "The following is not accepted for illustrative editorial content: Images with tight cropping of copyrighted or trademarked material, such as stamps, art, or other content that may violate privacy rights" Is M.G.M possibly subject to a special copyright? Otherwise, I really have no idea...

Yes, I still had sales in January and also in February. But it was just 7 sales in January. I had 37 sales in January 2023, just for comparison. Thanks for the info - so it is just me not having at least 1 sale :-) I thought that shutter maybe stopped this site already, but that is not the case.

« on: February 02, 2024, 19:19 »
Did anyone still have sales in January'24?
I didn't have a single sale for the first time (usually around 15 a month) and I'm wondering if they're being shut down by Shutter for good.

Thank you. I guess my new plan to make millions with images distributed by pond5 is dead now Made my day ;-)
194
« on: January 19, 2024, 09:39 »
My photos and videos via pond5 are there.
Never realized pond5 also distributes my photos. Should send them more images as well. I have my photos all (about 25k) at pond5 too and made $13,94 out of 8 photo sales in the year 2023... I'm afraid it's not worth it at all ;-) @Stoker2014: I'm not a member of Imago myself and I think the threshold for being accepted there is quite high. Have a sunny day@all, Michael

Some may have read my numbers about rejections in the other thread https://www.microstockgroup.com/38186/38186/msg596960/#msg596960Today (Sunday) the numbers are in my case getting worse: appoved 12, rejected 48 (2 of those rejections have been uploaded only 3 hours ago) So the complete numbers of rejections for the last 10 weeks in my case are: 05.Nov 2023 to 12.Nov 2023 - accepted 287, rejected 13 - rejection rate: 4.3% 12.Nov 2023 to 19.Nov 2023 - accepted 223, rejected 57 - rejection rate: 19.6% 19.Nov 2023 to 26.Nov 2023 - accepted 180, rejected 32 - rejection rate: 15.1% 26.Nov 2023 to 03.Dez 2023 - accepted 245, rejected 12 - rejection rate: 4.7% 03.Dez 2023 to 10.Dez 2023 - accepted 150, rejected 28 - rejection rate: 15.7% 10.Dez 2023 to 17.Dez 2023 - accepted 175, rejected 21 - rejection rate: 10.7% 17.Dez 2023 to 24.Dez 2023 - accepted 166, rejected 126 - rejection rate: 43.2%24.Dez 2023 to 31.Dez 2023 - accepted 217, rejected 95 - rejection rate: 29.5%31.Dez 2023 to 07.Jan 2023 - accepted 252, rejected 249 - rejection rate: 49.7%07.Jan 2023 to 14.Jan 2023 - accepted 261, rejected 308 - rejection rate: 54.1%I really wish I could get more than "quality issues" as a reason (that was 99.8% of the reason for rejections) The nature of my images hasn't changed and the greatly increased rejections since Dec 18th are for the same image sets that had images accepted right before. I think that the internal guidelines have become a lot stricter - and maybe that's a good thing. But something more than "quality problems" would be necessary in order to improve ourselves. I am now also trying smaller scaling of the MidJourney results, more in the x2 range than x4 before. This should produce fewer artifacts and therefore cleaner images. Unfortunately, it remains a guess as to whether we were right - unfortunately, we lose a lot of images that could be online until we figured out what the "exact" rejection reason might be. Have a sunny day, Michael

I have noticed the same effect and suspect that the guidelines for AI images or assets in general have become much stricter. I took a look at my acceptance/rejection statistics for the last 8-10 weeks: 05.Nov 2023 to 12.Nov 2023 - accepted 287, rejected 13 - rejection rate: 4.3% 12.Nov 2023 to 19.Nov 2023 - accepted 223, rejected 57 - rejection rate: 19.6% 19.Nov 2023 to 26.Nov 2023 - accepted 180, rejected 32 - rejection rate: 15.1% 26.Nov 2023 to 03.Dez 2023 - accepted 245, rejected 12 - rejection rate: 4.7% 03.Dez 2023 to 10.Dez 2023 - accepted 150, rejected 28 - rejection rate: 15.7% 10.Dez 2023 to 17.Dez 2023 - accepted 175, rejected 21 - rejection rate: 10.7% 17.Dez 2023 to 24.Dez 2023 - accepted 166, rejected 126 - rejection rate: 43.2%24.Dez 2023 to 31.Dez 2023 - accepted 217, rejected 95 - rejection rate: 29.5%31.Dez 2023 to 07.Jan 2023 - accepted 252, rejected 249 - rejection rate: 49.7%07.Jan 2023 to 13.Jan 2023 - accepted 245, rejected 239 - rejection rate: 49.3%With the week starting Dec. 18, 2024, significantly higher rejections began and nothing has changed in my content since then. Some of the images I am currently submitting were uploaded 4-8 weeks ago - so nothing has changed in terms of quality on my side. A second effect since Dec 18, 2024 is a significantly higher review volume per week, which unfortunately is only reflected on the rejection side. I have nothing against stricter acceptance, but unfortunately I cannot understand the reasons for the rejections with the general sentence for "quality problems" as a contributor and therefore cannot improve :-) Greetings, Michael Edit: It seems there is a second thread discussion this https://www.microstockgroup.com/fotolia-com/do-adobestock-have-more-stringent-moderators-or-rules-on-ai-submitted-content/

@aprott: First of all, I'm really glad to hear that your account has been unblocked by Mat - great!
As I have had a blocked account myself (the reason was a reference to "Giger") I know what it's like... I then went through my account and deleted everything that could even remotely be a reference problem from my portfolio, e.g. cars without logos (because of the shape), clown dolls (possibly alluding to a movie), etc.
I hope your account will recover quite quickly from the block - it started slowly for me and after 10-12 weeks I was back to about the download level per week from before.
All fingers are crossed :-)
