StockXpert.com / Re: Some Jerk Stole My Images!
« on: December 03, 2008, 16:46 »
You must be totally pissed off. I hate when people do such things. I don't know how people can risk so much... Every since and then we found some thief, and people still doing this. Does anyone know what happened to that woman "watercolor artist" that stole few images from SS?

General Stock Discussion / Servers have problems....
« on: December 03, 2008, 16:13 »
I remember that here, on this forum, someone said that microstock business will start having technical problems because todays servers can't support extremely large databases as in microstock business. Is this already happening? Seem that most big agencies have some problems...  :-\

Thank you borg! :)

Guys, I can't use Paypal and I can't use Moneybookers anymore. Is there any other option except checks? Maybe some other money transfer agency?

Sorry.. I asked stupid question. It depends on microstock agency which service they use...

« on: November 30, 2008, 05:04 »

Now this image has just been rejected for wrong keywords:
New Year's Day (Holiday), New Year's Eve (Holiday), New Year's Eve, Lighting Equipment (Equipment), Flame, Candle, Candle, Shiny (Physical Description)

New Years is an obvious concept for these images.  Just make a search in IS and see.
Lighting equipment was possibly a wrong pick in CV for "light"
Shiny, is it really wrong?
Flame and candle WRONG keywords? Give me a break...

Regards,
Adelaide

Hahahaha, no kidding? :D

DT is my second earner after SS. I've always loved it as I always had stable sales there.

SnapVillage.com / Re: Is Snapvillage hibernating?
« on: November 30, 2008, 04:49 »
I gave up as well, long ago, when I needed to upload images using HTTP, and I had o wait for images to be uploaded to edit them before page expires. I lost few batches because I didn't have patience to wait. The page expired and my images were lost somewhere. I have pretty slow connection. My upload is only 15 Kilobytes per second, and I have no time to wait for images to be uploaded

General Stock Discussion / Re: 20 views at IS on first day
« on: November 30, 2008, 04:45 »
Recently, some of my whole batches (and I mean whole batches) get about 20 views first day, and some of them get only 1-2. It is symptomatic.. I don't think we can talk about initial kicks of some batches and missing of initial kicks of another batches.

I wrote a complain to MB today, because I couldn't receive money from USA, actually from printbusinesscards.com

« on: November 29, 2008, 06:23 »
It's not only FP. MB doesn't support payments in dollars anymore. I just wrote a complain to MB and I am waiting for answer. I said that hundreds of photographers like me use moneybookers as only option. I suggest that we all do the same. Maybe they will think about it.

General Stock Discussion / Re: least picky micro agencies
« on: November 28, 2008, 15:33 »
When some reviewer rejects your photo, and you correct the problem and upload image again, another reviewer is free to reject it again for another reason that maybe first reviewer didn't notice. Just don't spend your time thinking about rejections. See what you can correct on your image. If you think you can correct it easily, do it, if you think you can't do it, than don't. Also, it depends on how important may be your image.

I use Imagenomic Noiseware. It's not free but it's excellent and it's very flexible.

Dreamstime.com / Thumbnails disappeared from "pending" section
« on: November 24, 2008, 09:17 »
I had 4 jpg files in pending state. They were maid for future vectors, and they were in pending state few days. This morning, I noticed that thumbnails for those files disappeared. Files are still in pending state, but thumbnails are invisible. There is only small red x sign instead of thimbnail. Can someone please tell me what happened?

Ichiro is totally right. This file has at least these problems:

1. Focus is on childs pants
2. There are harsh shadows on the pants because of flash
3. Sky is totally burned out
4. The face of subject is hidden behind a leaf in very unusual and pointless way
5. Composition is....no comment...there is even visible some part of someones body in right bottom corner of image

The only nice thing in this image by my opinion is cute subject. The baby is really cute :)

I know some good exclusives aswell. It's not about them personally...

leaf, I checked the file, there is nothing there but the text that was written in the box. I added this text to my description of the file.

I have exactly the same problem.... I always get error message

So, I guess it's best to keep natural shadows if they are soft and nice, and to add clipping path for those designers who want to isolate object. Also, it's good to add "clipping path" in description

Illustration - General / Re: Convert to CMYK...
« on: November 19, 2008, 10:29 »
Thank you guys. Mark thank you a lot for your detailed explanation. I did all you said. I had some spot colors. And what about gradients? For example, in my swatches I have few gradients that don't have nothing on the right side. The is no little square with 4 triangles or  square that addresses RGB colors. There is only square that shows gradient, and the name of it is "Green,Yellow 1" When I double click it I cant change it to any color mode because those options are gray. Also, besides square with 4 triangles, there is the same size square with B/W raster. Does it mean that color is process color?

Illustration - General / Convert to CMYK...
« on: November 19, 2008, 09:01 »
Guys, I need some help on Illustrator. The question is simple, and I think I know the answer, but again, I want someone of you to confirm me. I got rejection type: "your file contains both RGB and CMYK color profiles. Convert to RGB or CMYK and submit again"
My document is set up to CMYK, and I didn't notice I made any object using RGB color profile. I think I can convert my document to CMYK by going to: File/document color profile/CMYK...or something like that, but when I do that I don't see any change in colors, so I guess I didn't "go out" from CMYK space and because of that, I am not sure if I did something or not. Also, I have some grouped object in my illustration. Do I have to ungroup them all to do it? When I ungroup them all, and if I click on any object looks like everything is CMYK, because all sliders that show me color of the fill are CMYK. PLease help me. I am new in all this.
Thank you!
