SQUEEZE MY NIPPLES!!!  I LIKE TO HAVE MY NIPPLES SQUEEZED WHEN I GET F*CKD
Be careful what you wish for, one day it might come true.  ;)

Holy frickin' cow!!
Lisa, you could at least say it in Latin: Bovina Sancta! (but I don't know the Latin word for "frikin". Could that be "fotolia"?)  :P

Sorry my post didn't fit in with your 'yes man' policy over there.

Does FT really delete posts on their contributor forum? My, my.  ;D
That's the reason I never go there nor post there.

Since the last change have you made more or less money?  My monthly income has gone up considerably since the last change

Not mine. I'm bronze since ages and my ELs should be priced 50 credits according to the (old) table, but my 3 most recent ELs were sold for 10, 10, 20 credits, giving me 3.2, 3.2, 6.4$, while SS gives me 28$ for an EL. Are you supposed to ask to get the proper levels applied?

You're all wasting your time. The "business" is in Vietnam. It's even worse there than in the Philippines. IP doesn't exist there, the authorities don't care. Two weeks ago I saw Windows7 and PS CS4 openly in a mall, for 3$ each.

I just did it. After I gave my password, nothing happened and the DOS window closed. I did it again. The password is not echoed, nor **** was echoed. Window closed, no trace of any application.
I opened the Task Manager and spotted an active process (no application) that I don't know. Killed it. Then changed my iStock password immediately.

I don't know whether the script made a payout request automatically, but my amount was still there and I asked payout immediately. It stinks. Leaf better remove the link, especially since the OP is a new user without portfolio links, and he has... err... "ru" in his nick.  ;)

He can have left crap in my system. Im shutting down this PC and will use my PayPal password first on another PC, then all the other passwords. Not again please... This is the second time in a week I'll have to lose half a day.

Member since November 2007... that's about 106 weeks... 15 uploads per week... let's see... LOL

Naughty!  ;)

I only have 440 images on IS, not for the upload restrictions but for the simple fact I forgot them for a year. Now that StockXpert virtually is closing doors and I jumped out of CC, Veer and YAY, and I stopped uploading to a few others, I will use the freed time to upload more to IS. If that's what they want, that's what they'll get. Things happened, look forward, move on.

I have signed up for further info about dreamcsoport, Peter started StockXpert and might come up with something as good again.

Thanks for the info.

StockXpert.com / Re: StockXpert closing down soon?
« on: December 17, 2009, 07:24 »
Maybe closing StockXpert would support the rise of the likes of yay, cutcaster, etc.

Most probably not. Those sites are on death row by some early technical flaws that were corrected too late, and they don't offer real subs. If the photos.com and JIU buyers will find out that they can't access a large part of the previous content, they will probably (hopefully) move over to the first and genuine subscription site with loads of content (over 9M images, an offer that the new Getty site can't match in the begin), and which is ShutterStock.

1860
But what of Group four, the one they forgot. I'd like to have my StockXpert photos moved to the new site, like the other people, not be penalized for having an IS account and not be penalized for being opted in for subscriptions and partners at IS. Oh thank you, because I've been working for you and have quality images on IS, I get penalized.

It boils down to that. I am in group 4 (opted in on subs/EL at StockXpert - opted out of photos.com on IS). Hence my content on StockXpert will not be moved over automatically to GettySub, no, I will have to reupload these shots first to iStock and pass the stricter acceptance criteria there and go through the disambiguation process.

If I never had uploaded to IS, my StockXpert content would have been moved automatically. No sweat, no re-reviewing, no disambiguation. In fact, IS-StockXpert contributors are punished.

Adding insult to injury, JIU, Photos.com and StockXpert subs paid 0.30$, now those images would earn only 0.25$. JIU, photos.com and StockXpert subs made up 3/4 of my income on StockXpert. StockXpert's customers were already asked to move over to IS, so it can be expected that the few remaining StockXpert credit sales will go down further. I can't see any reason to upload further to StockXpert under these circumstances.

So in hindsight, the Getty acquisition of StockXpert was a hostile takeover with the purpose to shut them down, and to increase market share by acquiring the StockXpert customers. What Getty bought was not the portfolio and contributor assets of StockXpert, but their customers only.

I don't know what happened with any best match or so, but suddenly this month iStock gave more income than DT. The old greedy lady has some surprises from time to time.  :P - In French: pourvu que ca dure.

1862
I too wondered if I opted out of StockXpert subs also.  To be honest, there aren't that many to be concerned about.  Are they killing their subs program or the whole site?

The StockXpert tick box has just gone. That can only mean that StockXpert subs will be phased out, and all (StockXpert, JIU) subs will be handled through the new Getty sub site. If you opt out there at StockXpert, all that will remain in 2010 are StockXpert ppd. Buyers were already advised a while ago to join iStock. In effect, this will kill StockXpert.

A view from the board room of StocXtanic.  ;D

1863
I just went to opt out of the new Getty Subs site on StockXpert and noticed the opt in to subs on StockXpert option is gone.
Looks like once the content is transferred to the new Getty Subs site, StockXpert is going the way of the dinosaur.

I just did the same. I had a look at the past months and JIU + photos.com made more than half of my income at StockXpert. I have the impression that also StockXpert ppd is going down lately, as buyers might have been alarmed by the rumors and the lessened support.

Accepting 0.25$, it has been mentioned here before, will weaken the position of SS and DT in the sub market as the main non-Getty competitors. It's also clear that Getty wants to make a new site, not just take over JUI and let live, but sub buyers might be confused by the name and policy changes, and just try out and switch to SS which has most of StockXpert and iStock content already, plus more (minus iStock exclusives).

If most independents opt out of iStock and StockXpert subs, Getty's subs site will become a flop. It will take time to build it, and DT/SS have a large advantage content-wise as it is. StockXpert is virtually dead by all this turmoil (certainly affecting buyers), so the time spent uploading there at StockXpert can better be invested in iStock itself that gives good revenue after all.

that's the eternal nightmare of a microstocker - getting lost in the search results.  ;D

As Sartres said: l'enfer, c'est les autres (hell, that's the others). I'm sure he was a microstocker.  ;)

Cutcaster / Re: Just sent them 4000
« on: December 11, 2009, 08:43 »
Yaymicro came good this year so perhaps Cutcaster can surprise me in 2010?

I closed my account both with YAY and Cutcaster this week. YAY didn't come good at all for me, just 11 sales and 11 euro. I never was notified of their mysterious third party sale so for me the time uploading there was a pure loss. Exit YAY, requiescat in pace.

CC gave some sales in the begin, but after the repair of the search engine, and putting some time in searching on relevant keywords, I found out that the big guys (Yuri, Monkey, Io, ...) are all aligned in front of us small shrimps. So Rinder will do well. Again, a lot of time wasted uploading for nothing. Exit CC.

It's hard to cut ties with very nice people, especially with Zym next year, but a man has to do what a man has to do.

Live is to short to dance with non-selling women:-\

What's all this about DeepMeta ?
You should definitely use DeepMeta. It has a great and fast interface to disambiguate and then optimize keywords, which will protect you from the most common mistakes.

It looks like he's just posing for his web cam.  :D

It's a self-shot. Those are very difficult to do. For instance, you can't judge composition well and he couldn't probably judge the angle of the hammer well. The only one I'm aware of that makes great self-shots is Rui (Rolmat) on DT.

1869
Plus, the expression on FD's model is perfect (well, maybe 1% overdone), whereas there almost is no expression on the other model's face. To be honest, I can't see the "copy" as being very useful, at least when side-by-side with FD's.
The credit for this shot goes entirely to the model, it was his concept too. In fact he's a heck of a photographer and also a member on this forum. KB: I also tend to overdo expressions since they can make or break a shot.

To stay on topic: what if his copy was better? Of course you will have the advantage of being longer online, but that effect will fade out after a while. The fact stays that with the crowd-sourcing model in Microstock, derivative images as defined by PACA are de facto "legalized", so there is not much you can do against it. That's why the OP (that doesn't reveal his material) probably belongs to the Macro/RM world.

General Stock Discussion / Re: Do you "Rake in the Cash"?
« on: December 10, 2009, 20:08 »
Here's an idea. A search on iStock for "rake in the cash" or "rake in the money" turns up zero results. Get to shooting!

D@mn! Why did have to tell this? I already bought a rake this morning in the local DYI shop.  ;)

So lets see, three long term independent contributors are seeing significant drops, and two relatively low volume/newer contributors are seeing much improvement.

I'm low volume, but not new. I'm on iStock since 2005, although I neglected them after the CV mid-2006. As far as I know, only SS favors new contributors.

Yep, I also noticed a significant drop in sales starting on Monday of this week.

Well this might be ebb and flow. I had an unusual good week at IS, when IS normally is far behind DT and especially IS. At the moment, my December $ count for IS is the same as DT, also because DT went dead for me the last 3 days. As I assumed, the best match changes that should favor exclusives at IS were announced, but not implemented yet. So maybe it's just the time of year.
