iStockPhoto.com / Re: Istock rejections based on Model Release« on: August 29, 2008, 09:59 »
I have one rejection this type on IS based on non IS model release. I used an universal model release I always use, and I used it already for the same model on IS. But this time it was rejected. It wasn't big deal for me because the model was my wife and I just asked her to sign it again, this time the original IS model release

Print on Demand Forum / Re: print business cards, turning out to be a good earner« on: August 29, 2008, 09:05 »If you want to use the template for more business cards - do you really have to upload it each time again, or is there a shorter way? I think i don't understand the question. The "template" here is an image, with precise dimensions, nothing more. So, you cannot use one template more than once. I mean, every template is different image, so you have to upload one by one template (image), like in every stock site. When you upload one template, you make a business card of it, but I think you shouldn't use one template for more business cards, because all text fields you make can be modified by customer. That means, any customer can choose one of your business cards, and change text fields, text color, font etc. and make his own business card the way he likes it. So, basically, the only important thing you give to customers is am image, and they choose text placement and style. There is no point of making more than one template with one single image. That is leaved to customers. 1883
Crestock.com / Re: Rejections and more rejections!!« on: August 29, 2008, 07:07 »
Josh thank you for the reply. But if I get 21 rejections of 22 submitted photos, and it didn't happen only once, plus those files are accepted on other sites, than you should really consider employing some economist who will maybe take a look from another point of view (not only from photographic point of view). I mean, you also should have enough satisfied contributors to satisfy needs of your buyers. You can take a look and see that I have at least 2-3 referrals on every site. But on Crestock I have only one, because when I refer my friends I tell them which site is fine and which is not. And I bet I am not the only one.
You must know that most of us use automatic focus in our cameras. So, I don't know how could I really improve it unless I use my hand and my eye to focus manually (and who says it will be better). Something is really weird with your "out of focus" rejections. It's impossible that other reviewers in other sites don't know what is clear, crisp image. I am sure there are so many unsatisfied contributors of Crestock and I am sure you don't want this wave to spread too much. 1884
Crestock.com / Re: Rejections and more rejections!!« on: August 29, 2008, 06:34 »
I didn't want to start this thread only because I promised my self I won't complain because of rejections anymore. But thank you for starting this thread. Rejections type: "Out of focus" are most often rejections I get there. I don't know what they expect? Maybe they expect "vector photography", or maybe they expect that we all have 30Mpix cameras??
Maybe their reviewers inspect our photos at 1000%. In that case everything must be out of focus. I really don't have a clue. So I decided not to upload there anymore. I did that once, in spring, but after one month I started again. This time I really decided to stop. I will keep my portfolio of barely 31 images there (of more than 200 uploaded) just to keep my user name reserved. But I won't loose my time uploading there until they start to spit more money...for example until they get into first three earners (if they ever do). Personally, I think they have to high opinion of them selves. They will maybe succeed in their desire to have "the most quality images on internet", but also, they could fail. For now, when I get 21 rejections of 22 uploaded files, the only feeling I have is that they want to prove me that my work is miserable and not good enough for them. I know they probably don't want me to think that, but that is the feeling I get after mass rejections I get from them. p.s.: When I just remember in the beginning, when I tried to correct my photos after rejections from them and to upload again in hope they will be accepted. What a fool I am ![]() 1885

That sounds interesting. I made business cards for one local printing company before. It's pretty simple, and very creative
