Loks like he just called in to cause a bit of trouble as he has deleted his membership by the looks of it.

I agree with this. The only one that I might accept is the fifth but as I don't know what it is I can't judge whether it has  LCV.

I would not take these if I had a stockagency already filled with 6 milion similarities.  Its like any touristshots . Centric composition on all of them.  Quality may be great though, but doesnt matter.

My kids sometimes lay like that and text or listen to music. Are they copying as well?

That's  because we were so badly treated in the best match before that the difference really notices. It  may be giving the exclusives the idea that we are being treated better than them but that isn't the case.
If you look the fist 8-10 pages you'll see that almost all non-ex have green numbers. They seem to be well treated in this best match incarnatioon.

I'm not one of the top either but I am a diamond and I noticed that there seemed to be a lot more reds in diamonds than last time I looked.

Probably this one http://istockcharts.multimedia.de/
I've still got green but I noticed the same as you that there seemed to be a lot more reds.

That's so true, my   bestseller at DT was refused for focus at IS

But you have to realize that acceptance and rejections are different to the sites, so don't take that personal.

Yes, I upload the same images to seven different agencies.  You just have to make sure that you don't tick the  exclusive image box at any one site.

Dreamstime.com / Re: Why is DT being stupid?
« on: April 03, 2009, 09:40 »
They do that because people were going in and writing insults and rude words on their images to force them to delete the images before the agreed time limit. I really don't blame them for taking this action.

And now they have locked my images so I can't edit them in any way? What a f**king sh*t corporation

I really hope that they change it.  I am opted in anyway so it can only be good for me. I hate selling large sizes so cheaply so this will make it much more acceptable.

The problem with the DT dls search is that lots of crappy images that have been put into the assignment are coming up in the first pages as they have been bumped up to 100dls.  So even if they have never sold which is often the case they will come up before far superior images that have sold 80 or 90 times.

^^^^
I do this. I have a book which I carry around with me and jot down ideas.
It's also best to keep pen and paper next to your bed as it's surprising how many good ideas come in the middle of the night only to be forgotten in the morning.

I made nearly a third as much earnings on OD sales as 25-a-day sales, but got 12  ELs which gave me a nice earnings bump.

SS          27%  BME
FT          27%  BME
IS           24%  BME
DT         13%  BME
StockXpert         4%
BS           3%  BME
123         2%  BME without ELs

An absolutely amazing month giving me 1000$ more earnings than my previous BME  ;D ;D ;D

« on: April 01, 2009, 05:26 »

1. when did you started with microstock?
2005

2. how experienced in photography were you when started with MS?
I had a p&s that I used to take photos of the family

3. is photography your only source of revenue? If so, how much of your income is microstock earnings?
I now make quite a bit more at this than I do at my fullltime day job

4. are you working alone?
I have a family member that does most of the uploading, keywording, linking lightboxes etc and also assists on shoots.

5. how many photos on week do you upload?
On average 5 -10

6. on how many sites do you have your portfolio?
7 that I upload to and one that I have about a hundred images on and don't bother with.

7. do you upload to macrostock? If so, how much of your stock photography earnings are coming from macro?
Not yet but probably will in the future

So was it an EL or what?  I don't upload there but I looked at the site and it says on the frontpage images for 1$ and subs so I was wondering what type of sale it was.  If that is normal then I will seriously consider uploading there. :)

This new search is good for me at the moment as I have a lot of level 4 and 5 images selling but in the long run I don't think that it is good as the default search in my opinion should be a relevancy mixture of new images and best sellers.

« on: March 31, 2009, 01:19 »
As far as I'm concerned there is a big 4  not a big 6.  123rf and StockXpert don't come near to the other 4, only making up about 5% of my earnings between the 2.

« on: March 30, 2009, 12:01 »
That's true, it took me 6 months of uploading before I got as many dls in a month as I did in my first month. Even now I probably only get about 50% more dls, but make much more money because of earning 38c per dl instead of 25c and also plenty of OD and EL sales.

I sold more per image in my portfolio with SS during my first month than any time since.  They have a new artists lightbox on the front page and I think some might of gone in there.  It gets harder to increase earnings there after a few months and the other sites gain momentum.

I have over a 1000 images and at this stage only need to 'feed the beast' a few images a week to keep sales up really high.   If I stop uploading for a month or more then I do see quite a difference in dls.  This month is by far my BME and I have uploaded about 20 images this month.
