I would find it very, very unlikely that this portfolio was generated by one person. An algorithm could be designed to sniff this out...

Nice work - site looks great!
You customized the 3.9 theme, correct? This is a totally different process than every previous version. At v3.9 ktools started using the smarty template system rather than the previous tables, etc, setup. So at least you are working in a more modern template system. 204

I always get the LCV rejection on photos that I think are really good, interesting photos, but maybe not great stock. I take it as a compliment.

I have a Nikon 4000 scanner, but sending them off is so much easier. They look really good for scanned images, but microstock quality standards are so absurd, they would never pass for digital. But they still look great for what they are. I like that some are moldy, some are blurry, some are scratched. They are perfectly analog. I think I could get the represented elsewhere. I just have them on my own site right now. 206

I scanned a couple hundred vintage slides from 40s, 50s, 60s - turned out well. Don't know where to upload them though.

I've not had luck getting scanned slides accepted. Maybe a couple of years ago, but not now. If you get anywhere with this, I'd love to know.

It's standalone software: http://cmsaccount.com/photostore/overview/
It's front end is better than ktools, in my opinion. At least until the next major Ktools version (4). I found the admin kind of crazy and confusing compared to ktools, but I didn't spend much time with it. CMS does seem to add lots of features and front end templates. BTW, this is a great looking site, congratulations! 212

Shutterstock.com / Re: Is there some kind of a holiday in the US? No sales from the states« on: August 05, 2011, 10:49 »Just because I do travel I know the situation elsewhere and know that ppl in Europe are usually not nearly as friendly as Sicilians. When it comes to subway and safety in big American cities, we all know how dangerous it can be and that your crime rates are something like 25 times higher than for instance in Slovenia. So if some of you feel so safe, than why are you taking detours around the ghettos etc? Saying you've been to NY and you understand the US is like saying "I've been to Paris, I totally understand Europe!" and Europeans are more or less all the same! This is an attitude that gets ignorantly perpetuated by small minded, uninterested people in the US - "Europeans" are all lumped together. Sounds like you've got a running start at forming an inclusive, interesting worldview, but you easily fall into some very silly generalizations. 214
Shutterstock.com / Re: Is there some kind of a holiday in the US? No sales from the states« on: August 04, 2011, 17:12 »You know what I find really interesting? Virtually no American in Texas (and all the states next to the Mexican border or Florida) doesn't speak a word of Spanish. How's that even possible? In my country everybody speaks at least one foreign language and almost everybody living close to the border speaks the other country's language fluently. Doesn't matter wether it's Italian, German, Hungarian, Croatian. I mean you Americans are so business oriented (the American dream!!!), so materialistic, those that don't speak spanish in the areas with large Latin populations are loosing out a lot - coz I know tens of millions of ppl in America don't speak English. Think of all the dollars you're loosing out Wow, broadly overgeneralize much? I live in a border state. While not everyone is fluent, nearly everyone knows a bit of Spanish, or at least took a couple of years in school. Generally, English is the lingua franca of most transactions here. 215

I'm from the US, and the term yankee doesn't strike me as perjorative at all. But I'm in the western US and we're further disconnect from Civil War history than the east coast. We were fighting with Native Americans at the time...

Looking back in my email, I did request a demo from them recently, and here's what I got back:
Hi, I must apologize. We cannot provide you with Stock Media Engine demo for now. The reason is that we have started major rewrite of our software and there is still no demonstrable version of it. Nevertheless we can dive into discussion about what you need and what we'll be able to help you with. Regards, Ivan. So nothing to see. 217

But I could be misremembering that. 218

I enjoyed the women's World Cup - very good matches. I think Americans tune in to soccer/football every four years for the men's World Cup and are disgusted by the diving, fake injuries and other BS and find it off putting. I don't see that kind of stuff in the league games.
I'm off to play soccer... (I'm American.) 220

This site is running Google AdSense. None of the advertisers are advertising with this site specifically, probably. They are running ads in Google's network, and Google shows the ads. This basically means that you only have to convince Google that this site is a fraud, and the ads and income go away. Individual advertisers won't know what you're talking about.

You could certainly run the ktools script in a subdirectory and make a link in the main blog header that point to it. You'd need to tweak the ktools design to look similar to the blog design, and put a link in the ktools store header back to the blog. Seen this done a bit before.
