Your results are quite different from what most people experience....mine are the opposite way round....possibly your material better suits those platforms or maybe in a few months your results will reflect the "norm". I used to think because I was European I did better on Fotolia (now Adobe) now not so much.

indeed, as I started recently, with time, the trend will be confirmed, or not. Maybe it'll be totally the opposite in 6 months ... we'll see!

Some stats
RDP (for one total month best vs worst) :

AS
worst : 0.51
best :1.07

IS
worst : 0.33
best : 1.18

SS
worst : 0.25
best : 0.43

;D

What is more important when you have to pay the bills, RPD or total income?

for sure the total income, but the better total income for me, in order, is from : IS AS and SS... it's why i ask my first question  ;)

by the way, it's really interesting to read your comments

My RPD is a lot better with (in order) AS, IS compared to a pitiful RPD with SS... so why?

What about total income (vs. RPD) for the same portfolio...?

I already received my first payout with AS (50$), IS (100$) next month, and this month, my first (40$) with SS...

I'm new in stock, but for me, IS is the best for the total income follow by AS... and if AS is not as good as IS for total sales, it's only because it does not take editorial pic that make up about 35-40% of my portofolio.

hi! i have a question about a long exposure time lapse on a motorized slider : Can i do this kind of time lapse (long exposure) on a motorized slider that rolls continuously with a very low speed (slow motor)?

thanks!

Just started few months ago, and the best form me (order $): IS, AS, SS.
DT and Rf was not good enough to continue...
Since december, i contribute to Alamy, but no sales so far...

Hi guys, Hi guys, after a few hours of research to find me the best motorized slider for my budget, a pan / tilt head and an addition to connect my camera to the motor for times lapses (go, stop, shoot, repeat), I I opted for the brand Revolve (revolvecamera) I read only good reviews and they answered all my questions ... So I decided to spend more money for this equipment ;-) after performing a inconclusive test with a pan / tilt head and a manual slider bought on amazon.

If people are interested, here is a link for a 10% discount on everything. http://revolvecamera.refr.cc/ouelletc

Newbie Discussion / My newbie stats
February 06, 2018, 14:33
Hi, I started from zero photos to more or less 500 photos since April / May 2017. (less for AS that does not accept editorial).

Types of photos: editorials, cityscapes, urban life, landscapes and pics related to travel and some with a model release.

I just received my first $ 50 payout from AS (today), I'm going to receive my first SS this month ($ 35) and IS in March or April, according to my estimates ($ 100).

Here is an overview of my RPD by agency (by number of sales) :
IS 0.57
SS 0.30
AS 0.84
DT 0.63 (only 19 sales)
1RF 0.59 (only 12 sales)

-I will not upload more pics to 123... and watch what will happen.
-DT I will continue, but if sales do not increase, I will let him go ...
-Since december, I uploaded my most recent pictures on AMY (today 238 pics), no sale but that should follow ... I had a 100% acceptance ratio (3* rank....).

Videos (port around 20, only 4k, some time lapses)
Sell 1 to P5
Sel 0 SBlocks
Sell 0 SS
Sell 0 AS
Sell a couple with IS, but I do not upload more videos to this site because of the commission which is very low for videos.

Voilà.

Since my beginnings (April 2017) I changed my camera and improved my techniques ...
I look to upload to another site, if you have suggestions ... thank you.

Hey guys, someone used a Revolve slider? I found something that looks good, a bundle kit with @ 380 $ USD (including the slider, motor, and the pan/tilt)... it's like around 500 $ CAD for me, plus shipping and customs ...

Let me know if you've heard of it, it would be appreciated! thanks

Nice but not exactly the same :-D
This is a simply rotator, I don't see how can you use it for timelapse with manual slider, the shootools autopan has a great way to read the manual movement on the slider and it is really good for real time video, not only timelapses

Anyway you're right, it's not cheap :-D

I saw a video on youtube of a guy who uses 2 rotator, 1 used to move the camera on the rail, the other to do the panning ... Something like that : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oEo0SS3Hsis and watch the little sample video he did a the end of the video (at 4:22)... not bad at all...

so, if i use 2 rotators (200$ total), a manual slider (100$)... with a little bit of work to do to assemble, I will have a kit for 300$ CAD... something like 260$ USD... i already have one rotator, i just have to buy one more. I found a cheap slider (neewer, chinese brand) with good reviews on youtube/amazon for 70$ CAD... it's worth the cost to try!

You could also take a look to autopan
https://www.shootools.com/store/accessories/14-autopan-8055687020713.html

It's not a motorized slider.... It's motorized head 😁
And it can gives very nice results! By the way, it's not really cheap, but you can use it for many different options together with a cheap manual slider
I have it and I'm happy

i have a similar system, only 100$ usd  ;D : https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B01IB61WS8/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1]i have already this thing : https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B01IB61WS8/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and i will by a manual slider (60 cm max) with good reviews (but cheap  ;D) on amazon and mix it with the motorized rotator... A guy did it on youtube and it seem to be working well!

Hi, thanks for your posts! I did some google reading and exploring and i think that i will try to do a DIY  system... :o

i have already this thing : https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B01IB61WS8/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and i will by a manual slider (60 cm max) with good reviews (but cheap  ;D) on amazon and mix it with the motorized rotator... A guy did it on youtube and it seem to be working well!

As I said, I just want to have fun and try things, if I decide to go further, I will equip myself with a better quality system!

Thanks for the tip about After effect, I'll take a look!  I will take note of these brands for my future shopping (syrp, Edelkrone, kessler)...

thanks again

Hi, I am shopping to find a motorized slider (or not?) Not too expensive, to have fun and try things (amateur, not pro). I started looking and it's pretty expensive to have a motorized one! moreover, I would like to have one that allows me to film from top to bottom with a certain angle ...

Does anyone have any advice or suggestion?

thanks

To be safe, use the forms in the language of the country. Some agencies specify that. Some also want the original language translated into English too on the MR (Only DT, so probably not worth the effort.)

Thanks, i will try to find a form in Hindi! I'm going back to India in a few days ...
Less than 25% of the population speak Hindi, and not all of these are literate.

If I rely on Wikipedia, 41% speak Hindi (but can be illiterate) and many speak English (British heritage) ... I believe that with Hindi and English I will be ok. .. otherwise: Editorial!    ;D

iStockPhoto.com / PDF don't match with DYTD
December 21, 2017, 14:51
Hi, maybe a newbie question, but my pdf report doesn't match with the "downloads year to date"
In my PDF, total sales since may 2017 are 103 pics... "Downloads year to date" indicate 98 pics...

do you have the same problem?

iStockPhoto.com / Re: November stats
December 21, 2017, 13:20
For me, the best one so far (for the $ not for the volume).
21 pic sold, 1 sold for 99$ in Australia... 14.88$ my commission for this photo.
Port around 500 pics (80% old pictures, 20% new one with new camera). Started in may 2017.

I enlarge my portfolio quietly, I'm not a pro...
