« on: January 07, 2009, 10:05 »
my sales at StockXpert are okay, almost as usual.

ok, thank you for your answer. Not that I am in a hurry, I just want to know everything is OK, and you know about "issue". I can wait even 10 more days, no problem, but I want to adress the problem. Yes. it is Moneybookers payment.

Tnx for your answer! :)

My sales are OK, as usual, but payment is not :(

This is very strange now. I have requested payment (via moneybookers) on 19th December, and it is 7th january and it is still pending. Is it just me or is it present with others? I wrote to support, but they were of no use, replying me this:

Thank you for your inquiry.

Electronic payment requests are usually processed within three business days.
Check requests are processed at the beginning of each month and the checks are sent out at the middle of the month.

If I can be of further assistance, please let me know.  Thanks!

and I clearly stated that I am waiting payment for 15+ days. :( I know there was holiday vacations, but now they are over, and I woul like to ask another payment, but I cant before pending one is processed. :(

I contacted StockXpert support again, hope this time they will be more helpful. Does StockXpert have forums of their own?

Doesnt agencies on holidays have less job? why would they need extra reviewers? people upload less on holidays, not more!

About a half of the latest batch were rejected due the reason: not in focus/ focus not where we want it blaah...

Images were food shots with shallow dof you can see any food magazine / book (shot with tilt&shift lens to maximize DOF). I was getting lot of this kind of rejections on StockXpert earlier this year but suddenly I got all my new images accepted (same DOF etc..). Had to change approach for SS images.

I like to think that all this sudden rejections from the sites, not just Shutterstock,
is due to the hiring of temporary help for the christmas rush.
You think that extra reviewers will help get the job done, but really, without training or supervision
you get the reverse effect ie. crap reviewers who can't tell the diff between creative focus
and out of focus; high key lighting and lens flare,etc...

I could go on to list the reasons, but i am sure you all got them this past month.
My guess :  the same unqualified reviewers were hired by these sites.
I for one cannot wait till 2009 to normalize things when we get back to the old experienced reviewers.

I had 2 sales on DT, 7 on SS, 3 on FT. Which is very poor. Hope holiday vacation will end soon, and buyers are going back to work

Why do you have to re-calibrate the monitor after certain amound of time? Isnt it enought to do it just once?

Computer Hardware / Do you calibrate your monitor?
« on: December 28, 2008, 10:52 »
I have just ordered this calibration device from ebay:

http://www.pantone.com/pages/products/product.aspx?pid=79

http://www.northlight-images.co.uk/reviews/pantone_huey.html

I want to buy new 24" LCD, and calibrate it properly. Do you calibrate your monitor?

Another question: Do buyers and reviewers calibrate their monitors? What is the purpose of calibrating your monitor, when buyer doesnt have calibrated one?

of course FT give you a choice. You can opt out, if you are exclusive.

no, I dont find converison rates normal.

It should be:

1 credit = 1$ = 0.71Eur

and updated every 7 days as currecny fluctuate.

You should cancel it. You are making difficult to buyers to find my images. I whish more of you cancel your accounts, and I sell better due to less competition.
