I agree with centralised registration and common EULA
If people do dont want either of the above there could be an opt out set up. If though we are in the same boat it should make things easier

When I changed my local time in the WP admin settings all of a sudden the latest images didn't show up anymore (or only with a delay of several hours) in the Latest Images widget. That's because an image gets a time stamp when you publish it. When is time stamp is "delayed" in relation to the new local time then the image will only show up when local time matches/passes the time stamp of the image.
Interesting, I tried changing the timing and it has no effect. However, for some strange reason If I log out then it works perfectly! Computers just puzzle me more

Hi
For some strange reason my latest images tool isn't updating. For the last few days the latest images were delayed coming through and displaying, now it won't seem to change at all. I'm thinking there could be two reasons: WP super cache? portfolio too big so its draining hosting server? porfolio size is now 1230
Anyone else got this problem? or know how to solve it?
Kind regards Mark

Just looking at http://www.dashphoto.eu/ as one example of a Symbiostock site, have to say it looks beautiful!
I think some priority features are needed, most important being SSO (Single Sign On) to all Symbiostock sites. Means only one user account needs to be created across all sites. There are open source frameworks for this already I believe.

Okay, all the SY supporters are insisting how it's not a big deal to set it up.
But my big unanswered question is still this: who is making money at it?
It's great that SEO is working well for some of the sites, but if potential customers see it, does it compel them to buy? I've always been skeptical of individual sites, just because as a customer, I would see it and think, "Okay, this site has one image I like, but then I'd have to go open another account at a different site to get that other image I need. Why not just open one account at SS, FT, DT, etc. and get it altogether?"
So far, I think there's little evidence of SY sites getting over this hump. But I'd like to be proven wrong, to be convinced there's real opportunity here, so please chime in with your reports of great sales, and maybe you'll convince me to join.
All of my new files are exclusive to Symbiostock, and I intend to remove older files from agencies in the future. So how will a buyer obtain these files from the agencies if they are not there?

I've set up a "Fellow Symbiostockite" page on my site http://www.picture5479.com/fellow-symbiostockites/I want to list a brief description about the photographer and 1 or 2 images with links embedded to your site. I thought this would be a rather good idea for networking. If you want to be included either pm me with a description and links to 1 or two images or email me [email protected] with the same information. It would be nice at the same time if others offered a similiar feature so that we can all gain from backlinking. Kind regards Mark

I've spent hours upon hours on my own symbiostock site. Why would I support an agency?
Is there an upload bonus?
Are you planning on doing it all by yourself? That's an admirable goal, but I'm not even that hardcore.
I'm in the fortunate position where this is merely an additional income. I have a main occupation

According to this it is iStock: http://www.thinkecommerce.net/godaddy-review-2013
"While merchants have access to iStocks photo (from 8700 images to 28000 images depending on the plan you take), the solution also comes with an on-screen image editor which helps with the resizing or editing of images."
Well that doesn't surprise me

Why are u displaying vector images when only the photo box is ticked?
Its not a vector Images, Its a 3d illustration. There is no vector files available for this.
I think my point was that they are computer generated, not photos. That's why I classified them as vectors. Photos are normally taken with a camera

Looks like 123rf is doing sth really good in SEO. For Most of the images search for my images in google, I first get result from 123rf and then rest of the agencies.
A related question: are the keywords that are populated with the image used only for image search within the site or are they picked up by google as well?
I think though that 123rf bury internal links into each image linking to similiar images on the site. This is one of the ways they increase their SEO

Lift the object away from the piece of paper and reshoot. This allows the light to bend round the object. The other option is use white plexi glass and light from underneath.

They keep 85% of my sales, then try to hang on to my measly 15% as long as they possibly can? From now until they decide to pay independents a decent commission (like that will ever happen), they get nothing but my SS rejects. No quality control and 15% .....they are now my new recycle bin.
I dumped them a long time ago
