I don't know about Zencart but you can have automatic downloads with OSCommerce. I have some set up already.

I'll be using http://www.oscommerce.com/ to sell my stock images.
I'm currently finishing up another site with OSCommerce and it works great... and it's FREE! It's quite time consuming though cuz I'm not a programmer and I had to go through the 150 page manual and post on the forums to get some answers. But now that I,m familiar with it, I and conquer the Web! Mouaaaahahahahhaaha. ![]() 229

here's the response I got which gives me great confidence... "Your credentials are stored securely (in the encrypted database) on your local computer. This data is used to access your web account in supported stock sites and it is never passed through the Internet or in any other way neither to any third party not to ProStockMaster web site. This applications behavior has been verified multiple numbers of times by independent software labs/vendors, e.g. by Softpedia: http://www.softpedia.com/progClean/ProStockMaster-Clean-53790.html I want people to use my software for free and buy it if they have tried ProStockMaster, they like it and want to remove daily upload limitation. I assume it is a clean, simple and very fair business model. There are no hidden tricks inside the software or on the web site. Best regards, David On behalf of ProStockMaster Support Team" I hope this helps you guys. I know I feel better now. ![]() 231

All right guys
I took the plunge and bought ProStockMaster. I've been testing it for a few weeks and it's just sooooooooo great! The big thing for me was to be able to upload "ftp-like" to Istock and it does! It even adds a default category so that your images go straight in the review queue instead of pending! This is awesome for someone like me who has to wait a week to upload and want to upload ASAP so that I can re-upload at the same time the following week. You can upload to 8 micros one after the other with just one click. I call it my click and go option. ![]() Just in a few weeks I've made the cost of the software back jus in time saved. I strongly recommend it! Yanik 232

I did a test print for a photo book.... looks like crap! It's good for normal books but the print quality for photos is horrible.
I would recommend mypublisher or winkflash. They use 4 color process. I did a test book with Mypublisher and it came out fantastic! ![]() 235

General Stock Discussion / Re: Making the jump to the bigger boys (girls)« on: January 13, 2007, 15:35 »
Well, I had roughly 500 images up on Alamy for a whole year and never sold a one. So I took them all off and in April I'll be uploading them all the the micros.... I lost 1000s of $$ for my choice.
But I do know some photogs making as much on Alamy as they are in the micros so to each it's own I guess. For me, the micros is the way to go and is the major part of my 2007 business plan. 237

iStockPhoto.com / Re: Istock troubled waters my opinion« on: December 12, 2006, 09:06 »
When Istock 1st offered exclusivity, I thought about it since, at the time, it was my biggest $$ maker. But I saw how Shutterstock was growing and decided to wait a little bit.
Istock is still (for the moment) my second biggest $$ maker but I now make 2.5x that on Shutterstock! I'm so glad I didn't become exclusive. For the short amount of time it takes to upload to SS I've now more than trippled my Istock earnings. Imagine if Lise Gagn decided to upload to SS! It wouldn't take her long to be a millionaire. ![]() I also jumped the boat in Sept. and quit my day job to be a fulltime photographer. And my business model it to make as much $$ from microstock as I can. I do agree that Istock standards ARE higher than the other sites. I pretty much get 95% acceptance on the other sites and about 75% on Istock. But their reasons are legitimate and it helps me become a better stock photographer for it. I would never become exclusive because, even as an exclusive i find the upload limit quite low. I now have over 200 images backlogged for Istock and that's just bad business for me as it prevents $$ coming in. DT and FT are slowly creeping up on IS in terms of $$ making and I predict that by July they'll both have surpassed IS due to the upload limit. just my 2 cents... 240

yup, just saw their new upload limits... what can you do..... with a portfolio of over 800 images and a backlog of roughly 200 images waiting to be submitted on Istock, I predict that at the end of 2007, 123RF, and Bigstock will surpass my Istock sales (not o mention DT, SXpert and FT that will probably surpass it in the next 4 months).
Their loss IMO. 245

Yah, I've been doing that now for a couple of weeks but it hasn't helpped much. My November sales will be roughlt 35% less than October. And Istock could give priority to Exclusives. Don't think they won't. They've done a lot worse in the past. I'm staying with them cuz they still are my 2nd $$ generator but due to the upload limit I think DT and FT will soon catch up. 249

Hi guys
I'm currently uploading to the big 5 + BS, Sxpert and Canstock. Canstock brings me the least $. What I would like to know is, are there other sites (a part from the ones mentioned above) that bring in more $ than Canstock? I have a bit more time on my hands and if it's worth it, I'm willing to give another company a go. Thanks guys! |
