I don't see the logic in this kind of business plan..
If someone wanted to buy my vectors, I would probably not sell it for less than what I expect to make in 50 years..
how clever would it be to pay me 50 years' potential revenue in advance?
Well in that case I'll sell you my portfolio for half that, 25 years earnings.
obviously, I am not interested in buying anyone's port as clearly stated in my post that I find this kind of business plan ridiculous..
I am not buying.. I wouldn't even pay you 1 years worth of earnings..
but if anyone is nuts enough, and interested in buying mine, I will sell it for 50 years' earnings.. that's my price.. not my recommendation.. if anyone is willing to pay, I will take it..
The logic is simple. Some people want/need money in the present while others can wait 10 years to get it. Some people are willing to sell 10+ years of earnings for 5 years up front, it's a risk but both parties can benefit from this kind of deal. If someone would offer me 5 years of earnings I might take it even if I was guaranteed to make 50% more over 10 years.
I understand that logic but I am "really" not interested in selling my port for any amount.. I have enough vectors to run my own sites and selling my work means "bye bye my websites" until I draw as many vectors again.. and that's the risk I don't want to take, because who can say the traffic my sites get will not explode in a year which will cause an explosion in earnings too.. I have no guarantee that it will happen but I am more interested in finding out.. more traffic means more sales.. and the same port can possibly make much more than it is currently making.. if I am going to give up that possibility, I am going to ask for big bucks.. so let me correct what I said earlier: I understand the logic "for you", but makes no sense "for me"

just read number 3: 3 Remove the Standard License blue bar that appears BELOW the Download button (not sure why it's there, see here for example: http://thpstockphotos.com/image/first-light/ ) it's actually possible to remove that during set-up.. there should be a tutorial which will solve these issues.. If you set the upgrade amount to 0.00 for standard license that bar will not appear.. I know because the same thing happened to me and that's how you remove it..

Maybe there isnt any other discussion going on and therefor there are not more threads outside symbiostock. Are you now seriously discussing who has more slots? All your threads are now on top, Symbiostock is at the bottom. Just open more threads and you will get more slots filled.
I will agree on this one.. some people sound like they got symbio-phobia

it might still be legit but if it didn't break anything on February 1 2013, why would it now? and why was the date extended..
I have seen many forums discussing this issue.. some prior to February 1 2013, and some more recently with the new dates..
isn't HTTP 1.0 pretty old anyway.. I have a feeling that this warning is more like for "ancient sites" but I might be wrong..

or just click on (-) ??
that's easier than going to settings and ignore a forum..

are you sure this is not some sort of a scam? I have found the same text on the web but with different dates: In a bulletin dated October 18, 2011, we announced that we were going to expand the number of IP addresses for www.paypal.com to improve our sites performance, scalability and availability. As part of this transition, we planned to discontinue support for the HTTP 1.0 protocol starting February 1, 2013. We have recently identified that this change may impact the ability of some of our merchants to perform IPN (Instant Payment Notification) post-back validation or PDT (Payment Data Transfer) posts to www.paypal.com. This happens when the IPN or PDT scripts use the HTTP 1.0 protocol and do not include the Host: www.paypal.com header in the HTTP request. Additional Details Starting February 1, 2013, we will require all incoming requests to have a Host header which complies with HTTP 1.1 Specifications. This header was not required under HTTP 1.0. IPN and PDT scripts using HTTP 1.0 may start failing with HTTP/1.1 400 Bad Request errors after February 1, 2013, which will result in IPN messages not being validated successfully, or PDT scripts not being able to retrieve transaction information. Your Action Required before February 1, 2013 You will need to update your IPN and/or PDT scripts to use HTTP 1.1, and include the "Host: www.paypal.com" and "Connection: close" HTTP headers in the IPN and PDT scripts.

Very good solution.. Now it's even easier to follow symbiostock threads

I think the problem is... DARE I SAY IT... that Symbiostock topics are choking everything else out. There are about a dozen Symbiostock topics pushing this thread way down the list. A year ago, this thread would have gotten a lot of attention and sparked a lot of conversation. But today, people aren't seeing it because "how do I do this or that" Symbiostock topics hog up virtually all the space "above the fold."
A year ago is, well, a year ago.. it's done and gone.. I have seen this thread and yes a year ago it would have sparked a lot of conversation, but that's not the case today.. it has nothing to do with symbio threads pushing this thread down.. it's more like: "WE DO NOT CARE" what fotolia does or does not.. I don't even upload my vectors there anymore since their price reduction on vectors.. why would I care about what they do.. symbio threads are all over the place because that's what stock artists care about "THESE DAYS" symbiostock = in fotolia = out no matter how hard you want to push it up, times DO change and now we live in a time where we don't care about agencies as much as we used to.. they wanted this by cutting commissions and coming up with ridiculous ideas way too often.. and yes, they succeeded: WE DO NOT CARE

Sean did a great magnifier for accordstock.com. Perhaps he would do a Symbiostock plugin?
I think it was a feature of Ktools.. so Sean didn't do anything..

I don't think we need a zoom feature.. symbiostock previews are already "largest" in the industry.. there are so many more crucial features that need to be implemented before this luxury.. I mentioned it before.. at these early stages, sales are not that great, and the lack of sales make people look for reasons like: "oh, is it the zoom" or "is it the registration process"NO, no it's not the zoom and it's not the registration process.. previews are HUGE already and people do buy when they need an image.. and they do register in order to buy an image.. customers don't just go like: "oh, there is no zoom, I am not buying here" or "oh, I have to register, so I will go to another website" at the end of the day, you pretty much have to register on almost all the sites and that's not a problem when you are getting a service from that site.. you would be TOTALLY right if we had a 400px preview image, but we don't, we have a 590px preview image and zoom is a luxury in my opinion.. at least for the moment it is.. once all the other issues are sorted, we can think of fancy stuff..

I thought there were two criteria in the polls - the first was that more than 50 people had to report results against an agency for it to appear in the lists with earnings ratings. Then the amount of the rating just depends on what you fill in as the earnings that month. So, if 50 of us reported earning $5, we would appear down at the bottom in the low earnings.
So all it takes is for us to report, even if it is zero
Steve
That was my thought that all it takes is 50 people, but maybe it works differently. I apologize too if I highjacked this thread.
I am not that informed on this subject too..

Congrats! I'm surprised that self-hosted still doesn't rank in the polls. Start voting people.
101 is a very small number to have any effect on the polls I think..

Just an update - both base and plugin should be ready for an update, fixing the collection and "symbiocard" issue.
The base theme will not update for me. I see the 2.6.5 update and it seems to go through the process but my base theme stays at 2.6.4 and continues to alert me there is a 2.6.5 update available. I have tried a couple of times with no luck.

Leo I guess you made a small mistake with "Cart Manager" version number..
this is what I see in the updates section of my admin panel: SYMBIOSTOCK - Cart Manager You have version 1.1.4 installed. Update to 1.4.4. View version 1.4.4 details. Compatibility with WordPress 3.6: Unknown
I don't think there is a version 1.4.4
I updated it a few times and it still asks for an update due to version numbers I think..

Do you think agencies using mass payment is news to me? If you read the post above mine ajt said he was being charged because he was using a business account.. did agencies exclude him of mass payment obviously not..

No need for 2 accounts really.. I had just upgraded my personal account..
so now, its like 1 account for all purposes..
I have 2 accounts, personal and business. I tried to receive payments from stocks to business account, but Paypal charged some % from every payment. Now all payments from agencies go to personal account, and business account is only for my Symbiostock site.
Mine is a premier account.. something in between business and personal.. I haven't checked account options in a long time so maybe premier account is no longer an option.. It's a type of business account recommended for individuals and I am not being charged at all when agencies pay me..
