Very few Sales, it's true, but you can put your own price, you get 50 percent and pay nothing. Picfair plus Is only if you want to build your own shop, it's a platform.
I can't understand why so many of you doesn't support this agency helping them to grow: they have all the things contributors usually ask: pricing different, fair royalties, you can change price, or delete image at any time, you can decide the licenses...
Oh yes, It could be beautiful to have more sales, but Sales Will come if you support them as contributors
BTW, I stay with them from 2015, 3200 images and 180.000 views, 9 sales for 145 GBP, it means about 190 US$. RPD 21US$ is not so bad... Very little but always better than many other middle tier agencies

Are some suppliers more equal than others?
Of course suppliers are different, each one is different. Why on the earth you should think that in this big competitive market we should be all equal? And why we should receive the same agreement (and just a minute after read post complaining about "competition")? Once again, I think Adobe is doing good: they select the interesting portfolios and then give a proposal on different base depending on how much do they think is portfolio value. And then you can accept, or not, or maybe you can ask something different. I can't see a more fair approach than this. Well, it's the very normal way in which an agency should work with his contributors.

In my opinion "exclusivity" with one agency doesn't mean nothing today, because of photographers competition. From buyer point of view I can find quite any possible similar image in each agency, so why should I pay for "exclusive" image that is not really exclusive, as the agency can sell the same image hundred or thousand times?
"Premium" content has nothing to do with exclusivity, it has to do with the license you buy. Premium content is for big companies that need large number of images with large use licenses: and, of course, as big company you can ask a big discount. So "premium" will never mean more money for contributors, at the contrary it will be less.
Going back in topic: I think Adobe it's very clever not to ask exclusivity, because this is really not a plus. With premium they sell services, I think: they can give selection of images based on specific request, cherry picking of best ones, analyze and give advanced choices to the buyer.
This is only my opinion, of course: I've nothing to do with images agencies, but I work in television programming and I know very very well what kind of research are made by company marketing office, looking for strategies, and what kind of help they ask to external services like image agencies.
If I should look for specific content from (let's say) Adobe video, I would ask for premium services to find right ones, not premium content but premium services.
Real exclusivity (buying exclusive use of an image or clip for limited or unlimited time) is much more expensive, and it's not a "premium" content, it's exclusive license, and its value is thousand of dollars
ONLY MY OPINION!

One years ago I put about one hundred video clips to Istock, to test amount of sales and earnings RPD
This month I reached a new low: 0,06$ for a clip (unbelievable)
Yes, I said 0,06, not 0,6
I've just asked to remove all my clips and close the video option from my account

Yes they have a different contract with them.
The business model Is probably good at the moment but noone can be sure that this kind of contract will be alive forever... For this reason I say "no thanks" to BB. In couple of years It could happen to see royalties going down and down without any chance to opt out. Finally: it's rare but It happens to receive an exclusive request. I got one few months ago, I was payed near to 1k for eight months exclusivity. And I could not sign the contract without having full control of my production. Just Do your choice

Shutterstock Is an agency that can give you good earnings, but not for love. It's business. They earn lot of Money from your work. You can say that you thing it's a good business partner. But love Is something very different: sometimes dangerous, in my opinion :-D

So: Same here Angela. Funny how people are able to view your work yet still put silly comments like changing subject matter or improving on quality. Or maybe those who make 100 to 500 dollars on 5k to +10k images can tell us how we should conduct our business.
If you're talking to me, I was not answering to Angela but to the guy who opened the thread. Apart from this, I think yopur words it's very unfair. If you would like a place where you and few others old old contributors can talk crying each other for how bad is the business, maybe you can open a new forum. At the contrary, I think that any experience are welcome here, not "silly". You should be a little more humble: if a business is going bad for you there is for sure something you should change your business model.

Maybe it's time to think about subjects. I sell both old and new and middle (I'm in from 2014) and I cannot see any preferences. Old middle and new ones are really different in subjects, this Is the only thing I can suggest you

I still don't know the system. I don't know if the link takes me to the 12-month counter, or simply gives you a code. I don't know if the period starts since the code is granted or since the cloud registration is done or since the link is clicked. I don't know if in February 2020 the link doesn't work anymore. I don't know if the link gives you the code and can be saved until February 2020.
I'm afraid I have two options, give the link now and find out or activate the link in February and find out what's going on.
? Which link are you talking about? You should receive your CODE (not link) via mail. Then use it when you want (in one year) via adobe account. That's all. Also read the Faq, there are all details https://helpx.adobe.com/stock/contributor/help/creative-cloud-bonus-FAQ.html

The More accurate faces you can produce, more model release the agency Will ask for Also, there Will clearly soon options to modify faces and human expressions, but you Always Need to think WHAT to do with this. It's not only quantity of different faces expressions, it's more about what do you think can sell we'll, IMHO

Mmm One credit Is only One credit I think... Adobe works with different value Money Exchange. I'm in Europe and One credit Is 1euro for me. I dont' exactly what you mean translating that in 50 cents
Also, talking about ranks, for what I know rank Is considered only with number of sales, not value

This is not a portfolio problem. For sure. I sell 100 photos by day on shutterstock
Are you sure? Maybe your new uploads are too similar to older ones, or they have same main subject, so in this case you have reached the best clients with older ones. Without seeing portfolio is impossible to say BTW, I'selling (few) new ones, but they are normally far away of what is my main subject

Isn't this a contributor - indipendant producer forum? I hope so 😊 but "indipendent" doesn't means that every single compliant is the right one 😏 We support each other and we are equally members as contributors to agencies. Or artists or whatever the right name is. There is are no discriminations right? For sure, but this is a commercial business and Adobe, like everyone else, take decision for its own business model, as each one of us do. We (contributors) are not friends, we work in a high competitive business. And they (Adobe and other agencies) work in a high competitive world too. We make our choice and selection. They do the same. That's all Of course I think it would be great from Adobe to give to illustrator artists a nice rewards as they do for photographers and video makers but... This is a commercial business choice, not a gift for everyone. They do what is good for them, and this is very normal. Also for us.

I really do not get it. The company is giving some of its contributors free software (nobody forced Adobe to do so and it is not its obligation) and so many people are complaining and considering it as fail etc. Completely agree. Everybody likes to be payed for his works. Is it not this the reason why every day there are complaints about how poor is the monet that agency is paying us. And now there is Adobe that give away for free high value software for contributors. It's a great move in my opinion. They take care of contributors. They are interested in more photos and clips, so this is the reason. Maybe they are not interested in more illustration arts, I don't know, but it's completely up to them to choose what and when give away. Complaints for this is a nonsense. Everyone in this forum want to be payed for his work. Also Adobe want to be payed for its software. Of course they think that the giveaway can give them more advantage in long run. BTW I received my code, thanks Adobe, another good move!

I'm reviving this old thread. I've been forgoing micro stock for the last few years and focusing on Getty because I was earning much higher sales at Getty, and a better RPI. Suddenly, the last three months have been nothing but micro stock level sales. Last month, one image sold for 72 cents and my take was 14 cents, on Getty images, not iStock. I couldn't find much discussed about this on the Getty forums. Just curious if other Getty shooters here have noticed a recent change in sales. I'm used to a fair number of 200 to 500 dollar sales every month, now my biggest is under 20, most around $1.25.
I don't sell directly to Getty but via Eyeem, and I see the same. Big sales seems no longer exist, big fall from last year. Of course they had lowered royalties for subs, but this could be accepted if some high price sales would still be available.

U of Alabama vs Daniel Moore:
judge rules it is legal for photographers to sell photos that contain the trademarks of others
I think you mean that is legal under restricted terms of use (editorial). At the contrary, It would be difficult to understand why stock agencies reject images with copyrighted items or logos. About FAA, it is not for editorial use, for sure
245
« on: August 13, 2019, 14:24 »
A: The OP asked about licensing images with trademarks, not "copyrighted images". B: Sure, you can license images containing trademarks with an editorial license.
Also: https://www.danheller.com/model-release-copyrights.html
Mmm... Sorry Sean but OP asked not about licensing but commercial prints with "products and trademarks" and I cant'see big difference with copyrighted items. B) fine art America is commercial prints market, nothing to do with "editorial license" of an images.

Is it really ok to submit product images and trademarks to Fine Art America? On all other sites it's not allowed for commercial use.
It's NEVER ok to sell protected and copyrighted images, if the legit owner should discover there could be big problems. FAA doesn't check content and you can submit anything, even a Ferrari logo, but it's up to you to declare that you have the right to sell. You have to pay eventually for the consequences

I do not want to show my portfolio for security reasons. I was mainly looking for help on how to contact Shutterstock
It will be difficult to find direct contact and suggestion if you don't give clues of what are we talking about. Security reasons... Mmm what are you talking about? If you ask for help you should clearly display the point (your portfolio). If you don't, I think it would be hard to have useful answers from unknown people

...failure of Alamy to recognize an image that shouldn't have been available for commercial use
1. Alamy does not check for IP. It also does not control editorial/commercial use. These are the responsibility of the contributor
This is not completely true, I received in the past a couple of (very fair) mails to inform me that a bunch of my images was changed from commercial to editorial, due to contents. So they check, maybe random, but they see

I've received today too, in good italian translation (my language of course) so it's legit I think. I put it in my trash: prices are ridiculous for custom work request.
