Adobe Stock / Re: Custom License as low as $0.29 now?
« on: April 22, 2024, 09:30 »
Are you by any chance based in Hungary? Since the start of 2024 the tax treaty between the USA and Hungary got cancelled, meaning every sale from a USA-based client automatically gets 30% withheld tax. It's so lame and unfair...  :'(

No, I'm not

Out of curiosity,do these lower than usual sales, come from content that has already sold enough,or from content that has made few sales in years?

Are these 0.30 or 0.29 sales coming from content you sell regularly?

No, it's my regular, mid-selling content, nothing special about it, definitely not my low selling images

Adobe Stock / Custom License as low as $0.29 now?
« on: April 22, 2024, 03:54 »
A month ago or so, I started to see a lot of $0.30 downloads,

I was told "taxes are being withheld on your sales", my tax info is unchanged for the last year+ and I never had those sells before.

Today I suddenly see $0.29 sales, we Shutterstock now?

Got a $99.57 so no payment this month... so annoying

There are a lot of different subtle options that affect the review times on adobe, here are my results:

- Submitting AI as Illustration: 1-3 days
- Submitting AI as Photo with recognizable faces: 2-3 weeks
- Submitting AI as Photo without people: 1-2 days

The other thing I already mentioned on this forum is the huge difference in Illustration and Photos, I (and some other users) see double (and more) sales for AI images submitted as Photos.

I'm sure there is more to this, rejections, profile age, profile size, etc...

I'm still waiting for more results on other options, but it's obvious that Adobe has really put in the work to make their review system efficient with a lot of variables

31
Did anyone notice this?
The images I have submitted as Photos sold way more, most are Illustrations (because that was a rule for AI, but not anymore) so I wanted to check with other contributors if they see the same results...

32
I don't know if it's related,
but, I'm getting quick reviews now that I'm submitting batches of 10 images (1-2 days for the last 10 batches)

There are few images that are stuck in review, but they are maybe problematic and the reviewer didn't know how to handle them (somewhat news or current world events related AI images) not rejected but are stuck in review for a month or so...

33
So remove this topic from this forum. Your model will not suit stockers.
Does your username contain the year of your birth date?

34
I do not need it.
At best, you can choose 1 or 2 images in your model. On average, everything it shows is not suitable. Therefore, your model should display not 10 images, but much more. That's why I'm telling you that you should connect to the search results on shutterstock. In general, the way your model works does not suit me.

again with the "model", it doesn't mean what you think it means
you don't have to use it, please don't

35
I didn't like your tool. It offers very few images when searching, the actual ones are always not what Im looking for, and the tags are very weak. Its better to search for images on stock sites yourself, copy tags from there, and then create a general list.
You need to refine your model. Need more pictures. Focus on shutterstock and display top images or videos from this site. I should be able to select not 2 pictures, but 5 or 10. Therefore, you should display both 20 and 50 pictures.

You have no idea how it works, there is no "model",
if you're not getting enough results, you're not using it correctly, it always returns enough images to select from

try a single keyword and go from there, it basically does what you describe but automatically + refines the results and sorts the keywords by retime keyword data and positions, doing that by hand will take you x10 longer

We dont know how many people share a rank.

It could be 10 000 people or more sharing the rank 1000

There are a lot of old timers with huge portfolios that never post publicly.

There are also very large Russian or Asian language stock communities.

That's not how ranking works, you can't share a rank

37
This thread is really surprising to me...

First, because lots of people are sharing their earning stats and portfolio size all of a sudden, that is unexpected...
Second, it sheds some light on how the rank is calculated (downloads + earnings).

And, I expected that top 1k ranks would earn much more, which is somewhat discouraging...  :-\
I guess top 100 is where the real money is...

Wont that dilute my sales of my bestsellers?

(And what other agencies do you recommend?)

Why would it? It's totally different buyers and stock sites...

Only way I can see it affecting Adobe sales is MAYBE search engines results, but from my experience you get way more search results and sales with different sites, that maybe you currently don't get at all...
Anyway more sales for you.

You can find a list of stock sites here:

Thank you, I will 😀 its interesting that only 1-2 images from series are selling usually, so I definitely can upload non selling images ( that are very similar to selling ones ) to other sites.

You don't have exclusivity with Adobe, why won't you want to sell your bestselling content on others sites?

Think that you produce a product, and you only sell it in 1 city,  that doesn't mean that potential buyers will go to another city to buy it...
All stock sites have subscribed members that buy only form that site (usually), sell your best images on all sites to earn as much as possible..

Recently the reviews are very fast for me,
submitted 10 AI images last night and they were approved the next morning (around 10 hours)

« on: February 19, 2024, 13:00 »
Thanks Mat,
Have to say that Adobe works like a Swiss watch in many aspects and look out for their contributors.
Too bad other stock sites don't, not even close.

42
AI generated keywords are not great, saving time on meta data is the wrong way to go...

I've tested AI generated keywords with around 1000 images before developing a custom solution that is way better (based on real stock sites keywords data)
you should try it:
https://upstock.guru/keyword_checker

Just make sure the titles contain the top keywords you generate for best results.

Thats crazy I only contribute to Adobe. Why do people bother contributing to other stock agencies if they pay so little? Is it a habit?

You really should look in to it more, you won't get Adobe earnings on others, but you will earn more on 10 stock sites than on 1 (at least x3 times total), and you already have the images...

Did you have some fr $1,47 today?

The last time I got them for $1.47 was on January 19.
On January 20 it was $1.48, then 1.44 and 1.43, then 1.30, then 1.25 and yesterday and today they are all for $1.13.

I don't know where those amounts come from, it's not a single amount that is changing, I did get a $1.47 few days ago, and I see $1.13, $1.02, $1.19 etc.. all the time, different variations for custom license, maybe it's country specific price or something else,
I'm sure adobe made changes and still haven't updated the contributors (like with firefly bonus)

but never seen going as low as $0.30

True, had an AI images batch approved after 1 day yesterday

47
Why do you need tag sorting? This probably only works on Adobe. In other stock agencies, it doesnt matter in what order the tags are sorted. This does not affect the search.
As for the quality of the tags, it is also normal.

Just because Adobe are the only ones who openly disclose that they are giving priority to the first 10 keywords, doesn't mean others don't...

48
Ok, just tested it with following ChatGPT Promt:
Please give me 40 keywords without numbering and comma separated for the following content "triple cheeseburger with lettuce tomato catsup mustard sesame seed bun on a natural background".

Results: triple cheeseburger, lettuce, tomato, catsup, mustard, sesame seed bun, natural background, food, burger, fast food, delicious, savory, indulgence, meal, culinary, gourmet, appetizing, homemade, juicy, tasty, fresh, condiments, sesame seeds, culinary delight, mouth-watering, comfort food, classic, American cuisine, fast-casual, stacked, layered, culinary photography, gastronomy, temptation, flavor, bun texture, food styling, culinary art, beef, cheese, pickles, onions, condiments, grill, sesame seeds, bun, culinary creation, foodie, deliciousness, hamburger, mealtime, epicurean, condiment harmony, culinary satisfaction, appetite, gastronomic pleasure, culinary masterpiece, food indulgence

Yeah it's a little bit tricky. One probably have to explicitly request a mix of adjectives to describe the burger, but also the taste, etc.
Will perhaps sometime try to define some prompts for creating keywords for various contents.

I hope that you understand that it's based on nothing, no sorting no real data, just words,
I've tested AI keywording, results are not consistent and inaccurate, waste of submissions no matter how tricky or complex your prompts are.

Tool appears useful, but there are bugs

First: editorial images are not retrieved in results
Second:  It insists at min 2 photos. But if search returns exactly 1, it won't let me proceed. It should generate / display keywords from that single result

Both issues can be easily replicated by searching for "Embry Riddle".  I recently uploaded several images taken at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott, Arizona.  All but one are editorial.   And if you search for "Embry-Riddle"  (with dash instead of space, proper name and keyword in editorial photos) you get zero results.   Search for same keyword on Shutter, Adobe, etc will return multiple results.

Not a bug, editorial results not supported at this point.
both issues can be explained by that rare keyword, even if you search on adobe, you only get editorial results.

Interesting. I like the 45 words and they appear to be ranked by how many images and uses. The keyword separator works with my Breeze Browser Pro, some of the others, if I copy a word set, and there is no space after the comma, it makes one big mess and only one word. Nice!

Looks like Shutterstock images? The database doesn't include "all" images. Did you have to pick what you wanted to include?

It works. Next image I'll give it a try for real.

It's 45 keywords, yes, no need to use more, I would say that less is even better... But you can use as many as you think is optimal..

it's not Shutterstock images, and keywords are custom ranked by a lot of keyword data we've collected over the last year.

The database uses live data for new keywords, so it's not just already saved keywords, it's updated as you use it and get the latest data.

it's optimized for Adobe stock the most, but will work great for others as well (tested with thousands of images)

You have to pick the best matches from our filtered suggestion for best results.
