GLStock / Re: GL site not loading
« on: March 05, 2021, 08:36 »
Anyone else having issues with the GL site not loading?

I'm just getting a blank page

I'd guess it's totally abandoned. I asked them more than a month ago to delete my port, no reply ever since.

I had several of these, but as I never really wanted to sell, I always put the highest price (5000). You only need to remove the image from other sites if the buyer buys the rights.
Other than that, you should put a price that suits you, if it's not an image that sells, you can put less, but I would not go under 500 (you only get part of that anyways).

Yaymicro / Re: Yay reopening??
« on: February 24, 2021, 12:12 »
I just wanted to remind you all that stay on Yayimages, to read the contributor agreement.

"YAY does not take responsibility if an image has been marked for deletion, and is still available for sales either on yaymicro.com or any partner site. It is the contributors responsibility to make sure the image has in fact been removed."

After I closed my account in 2016 on Yay, their partner, agefotostock kept selling my images until recently. It took me about 2 months to get them deleted, and I got 0 payment for these 4 years.

It is our responsibility, but they don't give a f**k and when you ask for deletion the partners will tell you they have no contract with you as a contributor, and yay will tell you it's not their problem.

Yayimages is my worst nightmare in my 12 years of being a contributor.

GLStock / Re: GLStock is not paying!
« on: February 13, 2021, 11:16 »
This thread reminded me to check on my GL stock account - there have been no sales there in years. I don't expect to live long enough to get from the current $20+ balance to $50, so I've deleted my best sellers and written to them to request they close my account.

It's outrageous that they should fall flat on their faces and still refuse to pay balances, in spite of what the contributor agreement states. I asked to be paid, but I don't expect them to suddenly grow a conscience. It was a pain to delete a selection of images, but it avoids growing my losses there should a sale just happen by before they get around to deleting my account.

Did they delete your images/ close your account? I sent them several messages for the last 2 weeks but no reply until now. Deleting one by one is a pain.

Canva / Re: Random payment generator?
« on: February 12, 2021, 08:06 »
So - does anybody know how the 'subs' part of our income is being calculated now? Clearly no longer double March. Seems a random number just....appears....
Did I miss any update?

There was no need to update, they informed us about this in the e-mail about the double earnings (in April):

"we are allocating a percentage of Canvas subscription revenue to a new royalty pool that will be paid to contributors like you every time your content gets used as part of our subscriptions.

What will happen to my earnings?
The current royalty pool is $9.5 million USD on an annualised basis and importantly, it will continue to grow proportionally as Canvas subscription revenue grows. Every time a Canva subscriber uses one of your assets, youll earn a share of the royalty pool, paid to you shortly after the end of each calendar month."

Canva / Re: Upload progress @ canva?
« on: February 10, 2021, 08:09 »
About 2 months, currently. I upload via WeTransfer, and I get a notification when they download the files. They appear as In Review on my account. Then I regularly check Canva to see when they are approved. You won't get a notification if they are rejected or approved. It will just be marked as such in your portfolio.

(I make almost the same amount on canva with 70 vectors as I make on Adobe with 700).

This is true. I stopped uploading to Adobe. I really think their user base is more photo heavy, not vectors. I mean, the company is the go-to for photo manipulation so it only makes sense.

Well I can't see any of my vectors which I've uploaded. It's empty. I guess those files are still in the review queue.
I wonder why you see your files in your portfolio, whether they are approved or not?! I don't see any files there...

Try this link: https://www.canva.com/portfolio and switch from rasters to vectors in the dropdown menu.
BTW January sales are available now and canva just passed AdobeStock for me in earnings.

General Stock Discussion / Re: A list of partner programs
« on: February 05, 2021, 07:33 »
Hey there

I found my images on www.ingimage.com, but I don't find any information from which site or partner-program.

Can someone help-me?

Thanks

I uploaded a couple of my images to www.ingramportal.com and those are my images that are listed on this website (ingimage). They might be working with other companies too (on ingram you can opt in or out of distribution partners, including Getty or Alamy).

Never had one of these in 11 years I've been there (2009-2020) and never heard about this though I used to visit their forum quite often. I guess lucky me then.

How do you upload vectors to canva, I mean, do you upload eps file and jpeg in zip file, or just eps.?

I use ftp - EPS + JPG (with metadata embedded).
Lately they made it possible to upload vectors directly via their site, but they ask for the metadata to be included in a CSV file. I don't want to do this extra work, so I prefer the ftp method.
I embed metadata in the JPG file and that works for almost all agencies.

Hi there,

I've started to upload several illustrations to my new canva account.

But I can't see any progress respectively any stats whether my uploads are approved or declined.

How long does such an approvement progress take?

Thank you in advance.
Mancu

It usually takes a really long time, can be even a month or two. I don't know exactly, because they don't notify you and I don't check so often. They also reject a lot (I only have 10% of my portfolio there) and they don't give you a reason of rejection. So it's annoying, but the sales are good (I make almost the same amount on canva with 70 vectors as I make on Adobe with 700).

Anyone having problem uploading? I am trying to upload a vector and I get the Error message:
"Vector is in process queue no..."
This is literally what it says.. I am dying out of curiosity here, what's the error, please help.

Nope no problems uploading at all, I closed my account there 9 years ago.  ;D

Thank you, that was truly relevant.  ::)
Any other irrelevant thing you would like to share?

Haven't uploaded in a few days, but their sales for me are down over 50% including two zero dl days, unheard of for me. Must be reporting is broken or the site has been down for buyers too! An unpleasant suprise when I did my monthly stats today.

It looks like my image was just processing - for at least 5 hours (after I went to sleep), and it is processed now. Sales are bad for me too, I don't think they'll stick around much. Very sad where all this (microstock) is going. If it wasn't for Adobe and Canva, I would just abandon it.  :-[

I have got $57 in my balance and requested payment in the beginning of January..

Now almost a month later, they still haven't processed that payment.

Anyone else having issues with their payouts?

Sorry for your experience and thanks for the reminder. It's time to say goodbye.

LOL, yeah, sure they were

Exactly my thoughts. Unfortunately there is no way to check, and they know it.

The Contributor Terms are finally available on their website:
https://contributors.yayimages.com/documentation/terms
It says nothing about the payment (if they pay or not after closing the account), and it also says it was last modified in 2012.  ::)

"YAY does not take responsibility if an image has been marked for deletion, and is still available for sales either on yaymicro.com or any partner site. It is the contributors responsibility to make sure the image has in fact been removed."

So it does say in the contract it is OUR responsibility to ask partners to delete the images (too bad their partners have no idea about this and they tell you they have a contract with Yay not with you as a contributor). Very convenient for everyone except the contributor.

There is also an other interesting part:
"Any dispute should first be attempted solved between the parties involved, if unsuccessful, the legal venue will be Oslo City Court."

How do I request payout? (request earnings is not working).

EDIT: I completed the tax form, it is working now. Thanks for the reminder, I would have forgot about this.

Does anyone know all their partner sites?

This is part of the email I got back in 2016:

"Most of our partners are connected via the API, so when we deleted your account they can't download the images anymore. The only exception are Alamy and Agefotostock, of which both have received notification of deletion."

Unfortunately I believe that there are more now, but they refuse to give me the list, or the contributor contract so at least we can read that.

I have closed my account with Yay years ago.
Courage, guys.

Thanks!
Me too.
Did you make sure they deleted your work from all partners? According to their non-existing contributor contract it is YOUR responsibility.

Today I got this reply form Yay:

"Ultimately it is your responsibility, not ours, to ensure the takedowns have happened. I am still investigating."

So, just so you know, if you delete your images from yay, it is YOUR responsibility to ensure that partner sites delete your images. Even though when you contact partners to ask for a deletion, they will tell you, they have a contract with Yay, not with you, so you should contact yay.

How convenient, right?

I've been following your writing to them, the closing of your account and they still don't remove your photos. But this is over the top stupid on their part. Your responsibility for partner site take down. That's what they are trying to claim?

Please ask them for a list of all the partner sites so you can write and have your images removed. I'd like to see what they say. No agency tells us where our images are, and now they claim it's your responsibility?

From the start I thought the name was stupid also the branding and the posts seemed unprofessional from the start. Now new owners or managers or maybe not, since others find the same people up top. Was that all just some lie?

Oslo, Norway good luck. Their website is down right now, no it's back, pages are 404 Not Found and others just don't exist or load. Flaky as all heck.
They genuinely have a new (much worse) owner based in the US. He is Grant Baker, the company now has a shell based in Hong Kong, not Norway. I guess to either avoid tax, avoid being sued for all the copyright infringement, or both. You can find reps from new management on appsumo telling buyers they are fine reselling content they license on the site  as long as they get an EL for $1.71

On their contact page there is still an office in Norway, so I was thinking if I don't get my earnings in a couple of days I will try and make a complaint at the Consumer Counsil of Norway, I really don't have any other idea what can be done.

Yes, they are just telling me it is in the contract (that it is the contributors' responsibility to remove images from partners).
Unfortunately I can not check that because contributor terms page is not working.
I asked for list of partner sites and also this contract so I can read it. Maybe they are writing it now, I don't know.
This is a bad joke. :(
