It's a way of competition in order to give everyone a reason to impoove and submit better images. It's also there to help achieve some quality standards.
It's 100% natural for all images in the top 50 to get copied by other artists. If you read the automated email you receive from SS after each batch you submit , you will see that they encourage you to visit the top50 and design similar images ![]() Konstantinos 29

hello,
As far as I know SS does not accept image larger than 25MPixel. I see lots of images at 6000x6000 (36Mpixel). How can this be ? Thanks Konstantinos 31

I'm probably the next or 2nd next person who will reach emerald with 384 downloads to go and this month FT was already the best selling agency for me, so I guess when my pricing because x2 what it is today, there is no way for IS to catch up with it.
Also something weird happened this month on IS. My number of sales went up like 20% while my income got reduced by 10-15% ![]() This shows me that I had lots of XS downloads which I really hate ![]() If you need images for web , S is the size to go people !! ![]() 32

I couldn't agree more. They should have classic, regular , good, old fashion watermarks.

If it take so much time for you guys to upload to alamy , why don't you just send them a dvd every 1-2 months with all your new material ?

New Sites - General / Help with price on Featurepics« on: November 18, 2006, 17:34 »
Hello,
I just registered on Featurepics. Most of my portfolio images are at 4096x3072. All of them are 3d illustrations. I can't seem to decide if I should charge $5 each at highest res and allow smaller resolutions or to charge $3 each but without smaller resolution allowance. What do you think I should do ? Cheers Konstantinos 38

Hmm had no idea. Let me post the email :
Dear Artist, I'm one of creators and administrators of a new portal for the on-line sale of royalty-free images. We've seen your on-line portfolio, and we believe that you could be interested about joining our community. Unlike most of the portals we don't ask for commissions on your sales, we ask only for a modest 20 Euros semestral fee (for you in promotion at zero cost). Moreover, you are totally free to choose whatever price you think it's right for your artworks. To stimulate you to join our community and to bring your portfolio in our archive, we're proposing you this offer: - A six months free subscription to post a portfolio of 300 of your pictures. Considering that we have a via ftp upload system recognizing IPTC data, the uploading of your portfolio will take place with maximum speed. We think that you'll have everything to gain by making our community grow, and we hope that you'll find interesting our project. You can visit us at: http://www.paxxion.com --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- So since they offer the six month free subscription I might give it a go with 300 of my best selling one and see how they go... 39

Hey guys. Just got a promotional email from www.paxxion.com
It's a new RF agency that offers a different kind of deal. You pay them a subscription of 20Euro/month. In exchange you get to give any price you like to your images and get to keep full commition. Sounds interesting but I really don't know how much traffic there is on that site yet ![]() On their email they offered me a 6 month subscription free access with the allowance to upload 300 of my images (probably their default offer). I assume when you start paying them the 20euro, they allow you more images online. Not sure I'll join before I'm sure they've got clients. If anyone decides to join, let us know if sales are moving there ![]() Cheers 3pod 40

I only work with 3d designs but in IMO selling RAW format is like giving your client a 3d scene file and not just a render still.
I wouldn't recommend selling RAW unless you get what you deserve to be paid for it and that is probably more than $2. Cheers Konstantinos 43

I also experience some similarity rejections on Crestock... It's a good thing they reject many images because they ensure their quality right from the start.
My sales are around 0-2/day with just 114 image online. They're starting place ads, so maybe sales will go up... ![]()
