Try to do a google image search by typing Shutterstock you will find lot of high res pictures for free when you click original image!
I hope stock agencies will fight this battle for us as clearly they will loose money with this new google image feature
Yes , but you will find that all images are not placed in SS site. Probably are images that was leagaly bought from SS , have SS mark in IPTC and appear in search. The problem of free high resolution images is that many , many, many people buy images every day to use in their blogs but they not protect their images nd the images are indexed without watermark. What we need is something educational program to teach people how to use images on web. Is also a big problem because people buy images to use without watermark..... They can do their own watermark but is a big problem. If the millions of images sold last year starting to appear in blogs using resolution superior that 800px stock is finish. People dont read he licenses agreements , only click in accept! Is not allow the web use with resolutions superior to 800px but images appear in 2000px, etc..... So in my point of view the solution is all blog providers must be forced to protect their servers and must work with flash galleries or provide watermark skills .... something like that....to avoid copyright content to be share and indexed for free.

Yes, this last version do it all , in a easy way.... and if understand php and html , or are able to develop the program you have a extremely good work base to start.

- Ability to sell physical goods.

You really get what you pay for. I've been looking at some Wordpress and Woocommerce photo stores but they don't auto watermark or auto resize. The more I look into the work I would have to put into it (or pay to have put into it), the better K-tools looks.

Thanks Dan. If you have the iptc information on your images you just upload them and click finish. You can check it one by one after if you like. Dont set categories and nothing like that, i do the rest. I dont promise you sales, i promise i will work to get sales. Thanks for the trust.

What kind of background except as a photographer do you have? Business Administration? Marketing? Accounting? What kind of support in these areas do you have?
I was just wondering if you are aware what you are doing and what that potentially means.
For example, as you are living in a EU country, you would need to do VAT taxation for EU member countries, depending where the buyer is living. Yeah, not only for your country but for 27 different countries in 27 different ways. Are you prepared to do that? I somehow doubt that because you are not even publishing your own tax or trade registration information as you would be legally required to do.
International tax legislation is a bitch and I would just advise you to be careful because in the end you will be liable financially.
Yes Michael i understand what you are saying . I run my business for 5 years more 4 years as freelancer, i have studied photography, i have knowledges of marketing and webmarketing and do import/export for 3 years , buy from Italy and Germany, Holland, spain , japan , china , malasya, etc.....i run another web business (nothing to do with image) i export to UK, EU, US, Brazil.....i know exactly the taxes rules and i know i have to do retention to contributors.... Resume, i already have and pay the structure i need . This is an upgrade...bring more cost if bring more work to finace department...I dont put that information yet because i need to know what form is need in PT for international contributors receive the retention. My department is already look for that, soon it will be post and my prices already have taxes included 23% and buyers receive a legal invoice according to EU and international laws. My information is on the site. The site name and finance address. Inotice is missing my phone. Only is missing my full name (i can put it ther) and tax number. Under web security rules i will not put my tax number and i am not forced to do it. Anyone with my name , address, and tax number online can make a false invoice to me. My paypal account is business veryfied so this is a trust for anyone. Buyers can always report a fraude and paypal work under EU rules. They already have all my docs....because i made more 10 000/year paypal transactions in all business.

Yeah, the math doesn't work, so buyers definitely aren't using all their downloads or SS would be out of business. They probably use around 30% of it would be my guess.
As far as adding subs to a small agency, I would say don't do it. You will probably never reach the volume of a Shutterstock, so I would try to maximize the profit from each sale. Find that balance between affordable and profitable.
yes. I cant sell subs now i only have 30 images  my question was placed like contributor point of view. What i want to do in Newlight is set packages , like 100 files (5 of each section, something like that and sell the pack, like cds with prices that will be compared to subs... Tis will help contributors to, because when i set the packages i can choose contributors with less sales or no sales and play a little with collections. I need to have contributors to... The site make CDs from collection but i will provide download like any other files. Buyer download all collection. First the collection can have only ten files. I will make a collection of my wedding setts with ten files. I have close to 150 files to upload. The advantage of collection is : If i have 10 contributors i set a collection of 20 files (2 of each contributor) Everyone have sales. Buyer download the collection like any other file and record a trace in site.

no I don't think you are stupid or going to steal our work, what I am saying is that building an agency is hard and the worst part is getting clients, buyers, designers, bloggers and other coming to the website and purchase.... that is insanely hard, if you read here only one or two are being successful doing it and they are working on it for years... and the amount made is far from what they earn comparing to SS or IS or other...
my concern is that you will be losing money month after month, its cool that you are trying to build something but you need to open a few small agencies and see the content they have but still having just a few sales...
how do you plan to reach clients? word of mouth? google right? try and do a few searches and see where your search placement is, its a crazy world out there... how many views are your files having? you will need months to see your first sale, if not years...
Yuri took 6 or 7 years to open his own store, think about everything I am saying here and go slow so you don't have a big disappointment, anyway I wish you luck!
Yes you are right, but try to search in agencies by Folclore ..... or babies changing diapers ... you will see babies, but changing diapers .! What i can say, i have my work , my clients, my weddings , all of that. I start this with conscience that is extremely difficult. In DT forum someone ask if wedding images selling well and someone told that they not sell if they dont upload them (At IS i sold today a Xlarge file from one of my brides that gave me a $3.12. What I am trying to say is that anything happen if we dont do something, yes we need to work. Publicity in google , why? Everyone is in Twitter or Facebook , is cheap. If you get some cool good friends others will see. Is need time, yes it is, but i am not worry , i have my job and time to do it. I created a twitter account yesterday , today i have ten people following the agency. Designers, health companies, etc...with effort. Now i will try to get some healthy height loss images to promote there...because they follow me. If i not sell this fine here, fine i sell in SS....but maybe, just maybe this could grow and if you can help me or join me, as a Portuguese guy , if we can meet us and work together , your experience is very needed. In Portugal, what we have? Anyone of the stock agencies promoted our things and there anything to promote our things like Folclore and other traditions . If someone goes to a concern and take pictures to see this images in magazines must give the images, but , we dont have a agencyb to receive and promote the images directely to our newspapers....is amazing , is missing here. Spain have a stock bank, Greece have a stock bank, we dont have...we dont have anything. So , my frustation sometimes is people getting problems instead looking for solutions. This is my point of view, and work work work work ....

Well the site is ready to go. Others changes and contents will be added with time. The site is being promoted in Facebook, Pinterest with watermark, Twitter with some followers and images are getting views. Now is needed more images. Like i said in other topic today this project is simple and humble, is not to face the giants, but is trustful and free to. If someone decide to join is very welcome and appreciated . You only need to upload with iptc and i do the rest. that is so naive and the same goes for opening an agency without having any knowledge about stock agencies, just because there is Ktools or other doesn't mean we know or should open an agency, you are only at microstock for a few months but there are tons of small agencies having tiny downloads, do you think you have more $ to invest? you are trying to paint something that is very hard but you think it is so simple...
just so you can erase the subscription dark side, SS had 2.26$ revenue for every download they have between June and September

Hi thanks for reply. To SS have $2.26 revenue is just because no one download the 25 a day. Thats the point .Maybe the others play with that too. Thanks for help. Then , yes , i have money to invest. Since i opened my studio i m investing money on it , in equipment to, and now in a site from ktools. Great program by the way. Now, i upload to 5 agencies and i will continue to upload as any contributor and i will talk about others as any others contributor. newlightagency.com is a site were i sell my stock , have my portfolio and allow others to do the same, if they want, is free for them. I use that site as my personal site too, even today i will put a pregnant studio session there to clients see in private and download files if they want ( Have to pay off course) . Is my web place, i have that right. If someone join me ,fine, if not , great...i spend less in a smaller server. Do you think im stupid or some a rich kid without responsability and compromises ? Do you think i believe i will stay rich with this ? Do you think i will stole files ?? I already spend my money and my time in this site. A 2tb dedicated server costs less that a smugmug account. A state of art server 8TB expansible placed in germany buildings cost 80 per month , i pay 50 per month at Areal Media to have a site from them with 50gb space and the site was never mine...Are you think i will spend money trying to get or beat the best sites....? I make it simple because my project is simple, is humble, but exists ...at least it serves for me! ..If i had put it another name and build this with behind the scenes and change all the html template like Others do (there are so many ktools stock agencies out there , more than you think) it was a new agency . But , i decide to tell my project and ask for help. So is just another stupid kid? Thats it....from a portuguese fellow....! Well , now i have my site online and im facing one problem to set subs plans.....Seeing another sites like SS they sell images for $0,26 and pay $0,25...impossible for me ! I think maybe, just maybe, people never download the 25 a day and this is a make a difference. Now seeing IS partnership to TS. Thinkstock sell images in one year plan at $0,22 . BUT , in partner program according to IS we receive $0,28 commission .... Well, or my math is wrong or agreements are changed everytime we sold an image there or there is something dark here ? Now, even there is a good explanation for that and i believe in it, these prices have taxes included ?? My curiosity is not to set my prices, i can do my own math, is only to understand this insanity.....If prices just have taxes included , they pay more than receive....so ...maybe they dont pay all sales....  or money rise from the ground? PS: I already receive $0,08 commission in a IS sale so......i believe in everything! But Partner program granted $0,28 and TS sell for less.

Well, i dont know exactly how things work here or in this business but i think this is like another current business. If you have a good product it will sell. I saw agencies in middle tier close doors and i think to my self, Why? If they have clients and sell something ? Maybe there is many people living of that business , maybe they have mounted structures that cant support, maybe they have invested in expensive servers with thousands of GB without images to put there ... what is a marketing plan and good publicity ? I bought my studio 5 years ago, the old owner was tiered of loosing money every month. I dont one in publicity and the studio still exists . Simple do a good work to customer and they will sell your product for you...this is my marketing plan. If people trust in me to upload files my site i will do everything to sell the images, i will not give it for free or be the most cheapest and pay assorted and magical commissions, reality is not like that. I have to pay taxes and give legal invoices to companies, pay servers space, commissions and manage the site, so there is not 90% commissions here or even 70% . What exists here is a free will to do something for me that fit others too. If contributors have sales here they will bring more contributors, and happy clients will come back . I will not promise you commissions that i cant afford in this moment just to get attention and spend money in addwords just to get contributors and curious clients. I know that this" marketing plan"will take more time to get attention or something close to a real and middle agency but if this grow must grown with confidence and must grow with facts, not with prospection ... All of this is the reason i being here. I have a site and im proposing myself to do a certain job. To do this job i need some brave people to trust me supplying my agency. I cant promote a empty site, i cant make a call to a newspaper promoting my fresh images if editorial section is empty, i cant present a product that not exist and certainly i cant buy 5000 copyrights from RM agencies, so , i need some brave agents.... With that text i dont want people think i will accept all images i receive....no, i will not ! The review process not much different from others . Here i have a concept to follow. Facebbok bannerswell the stock world dont have to be only for designers or sites owners or press. With growing Facebook pages and users and milions of images watermarked being shared every day i think there is a real market there and free publicity to do. If you give me 5 banners to valentine day , mothers day, fathers day , more.... banners that people can use to express them selfs with themes like hungry, happiness , love, sadness, esoteric , ..... good and affordable images . Then i promote this in my studio page , in agency page in my personal page , you promote in your page, your friends will see and others too .. if one buy , you attention from thousands .... We cannot complain about illegal sharing if we dont do anything to make it legal. 1 banner is a 1 gift to offer ... why not, if they copy this or still one image in other place  ? And any contributor is a marketing agent in their page too.... I dont have server space in server now so this allow many images , less space, big audience....

Hi all. My site is ready to start accepting images . I already established licenses and services. Is not complete yet, but one project like this one is never completed , there are some more to do. Is missing me set products and prints . I set a service to promote in Facebook now. There are one gallery called Web Social .This is the one i want to promote now. Social image sharing is always out of law and out of licenses so i made this very cheap to allow consumers illustrate their pages and share images at an affordable price. I want to promote a Valentines Day banners . Something that a boy or girl can offer to the Facebook page of the loved one expressing their heart .These must be submit to this gallery at 851x315 px to avoid problems in auto crop made by site. You can, if you wish , submit the original file to main galleries after . Apart that , everyone who want submit here is very welcome now . I have a small port and all like a portrait/wedding niche .... so..diversity is very desire . I need to decor the site with images to, so at least one buyer is there . Looks like you are off to a good start for the development. I wish you good luck with your project. One small tip. Don't have as your first tab NEWS. Move it behind Promotion and may call it BLOG.
All General important pages should have a link in the footer (FAQ, Contact, About, ...) create a page just for the PRESS (press kit, press releases, ...) and place that link in the footer. Think about what type of payment you want to accept and how you want to pay the contributor. Different account view for buyers and contributors? How to upload? FTP? What type of model and property release management? Very important that you import system reads the meta data IPTC out of the image files. Most important is Title, Description, and Keywords. No category selection for contributor. Just uplaod and submit, but with the possibility of editing if necessary. A delete function for image. And a function that allows to cancel an account. But I am sure you know all this.

Thanks for reply. The upload is support with unlimited FTP . The site dont have place to upload releases. Contributors will have to create 2 albums in their page (non-public) and upload all the releases inside this album. then click in the uploaded images and set (released) . I check them inside the albums if i needed . System import iptc information but that was the problem i report...dont work yesterday and i ask to someone test the upload system to see if is just my files or all the files. If people upload 100 images in a bach of news can set one title, one desciption and keywords to the bach...the 100 images will receive the same information. To catalog one by one just skip this in blank and the image appear with iptc information if it have. Payments are processed by paypal only and always at the end of week or month . Is no need minimal sales, amounts or request payments . You sell you receive, 0,25 , 25 or 250, however simple as that ! you sell 100 in a week , we pay at the end of week, if you sell 0,25 per week you pay at the end of month. Contributors can edit the images always and deleted them to when they want. The images are yours. You can even set private albums for weddings (per example) and sell prints direct to customer to. Commissions here are different because you get the event, is your work and you have to process the prints outside in one lab of your choice and pay them , so we retain only 10% for space in the site and you can receive in 48h to pay the prints. You can even set the price to the prints and files in private albuns. I have to see how paypal with process their commissions. I am testing the pages and your right, i am trying to understand the changes and the management area yet. Try to upload one file and give me your feedback...you can put your watermark if you want.

Build something great and people will show up. Sorry if that is too vague of an answer, but we've all seen agencies come and go. The ones that are dedicated, study the market and create a great product stick around. The rest close up shop pretty quick.
Off the bat, it looks like a KTools store. That's not a deal breaker by any means (I have a KTools store too), but it does give me a little pause about the level of technical skill and dedication going into the site. Just my two cents. Good luck with your endeavor. It can be a lot of work to run your own site, but it can also be rewarding.
Like i said now os for my port . Yes is a ktools site . this site is sasy and ready to go , perfect to one port . Contributors area is a low performer And complicated Today i send a mail to them to fix some issues In contributors rea and review system. I have time to do it and This templAte can be changed. Then i will do a chance to a powerful server when i complete This .

I am doing this to expand my business, first only for me, but if i can and repeat, if i can do something good to all of us ... i do ! I only start this yesterday , now i want to get the site functional. Like i said i was made this to sell my stock, but i only have my site and my blog, so i think that i can i make this to more people. - I will have footage, images, vectors - RF file sales with credits or money for single images. Subscritions plans to. Not like SS, more cheap (monthly) and more expensive per image. Contributors can set if they want or not subscriptions, can set the price for original extended licensed to. can sale prints, accept orders directely and process them or send to a lab. Products to. Editiorial files will be promoted directely to newspapers agencies. In Portugal is missing this service. Everyone give for free. Then promoted in ggogle and FB . But what i want now is putting this to work. Contributors will have a base system that is compared to sell stock directelly, fair and just commissions. The standart is: You (contributor) have your port to sale in agency galleries. There will be various commissions system. Is different for prints, special collections, subs or main stock. I am open to opinions to. This topic is just for that. Please , dont critique me to try do something that even start, i am asking opinions just for that.

Hi people. I was startint my new new site after trying make it from a blog and i think i can make an investment and do something better so im made the Newlight Agency. I think , if i will do all this work for me , why not do it for everyone and that is the base of this topic. I only got the site online yesterday and is missing many things (is in tests yet ) so im asking if there is someone here that can help me with my project . I want to start this inside the community and listening all your opinions and experience. I need to test the functions of site and set prices, think about servers (dedicated servers) , licenses, and all of that. I want to ask you to register as gold member and upload 10 images . Please , dont upload originals, upload files with 2000px maximum with your watermark. Is just for testing. Give me your opinion to get this better and if you want contribute after the betta period i will be very grateful . I am starting from 0,00 , server dont have many space (50gb only) , all this have to be moved into a dedicated server after but is a big investment. I will consider this after read your opinion , put the site good in good conditions, and have some bases to start. Please , can you lost 10min of your time to help me? If you submit as a bach you can put the iptc to all that bach in a single way. If not you must leave it in blank. The ipct for each image will appear (i hope that) . GL is by far the easiest place to upload to for model released images. No attatching model releases, no catagories. If the Iptc data is all there then you don't have to do anything at all after ftping them unless you want to change the prices.
How do they know which model release applies to each image? Does it need to be referenced in the IPTC data?
All my MR have 3x4cm pictures to identify the model.

UPDATE:- I have some images reviewed and have until now, 100% AR. They do accept people images and without exif. Maybe they do some search to their contributors first or maybe they be highly quality demand...dont know, but for until now , is work perfectly. Support is great and fast. I made my 20 files submission at 2 days. I dont know anything yet. For a site so small is difficult understand why this delay but ok, i dont hope big results. Why?
- I spend a little time reading the terms and seller rules, so:
- They dont accept editorial; Ok for me, i submit my editorial work in others places like Alamy that are more specific for that .
- Now, they dont accept people images? On the seller terms i read that people faces collection is for invitation only.....ok, probably im out...
-They dont accept images without intact exif.....30% of my port is out....i have a small port,
- So , they could be a very good and peaceful place to be, but is not for everyone!
-there are another restrictions ?
I understand that each agency have their niche, their standarts , their host limitations, legal standarts and limitations, and all of this things, but this one have lots of limitations . Maybe they have change their terms and i have read the old terms or i not understand right, but i know one thing, is the contributor who choose the agencies and because of that i upload only in 4 (SS, IS, DT, Alamy) If IS dont change the 18 images limit and get another version of Deep Meta (OR Deep Hole for me) maybe i upload to 3 agencies only in future.
Contributor blame the agencies for bad politics and low sales but the power is ours . In this case i will see how my files perform but after read the limitations terms i think they fall for 100% , im not invite to submit people, so....
PS: Exif is only necessary for editorial licenses , whats the problem with standarts ?
I know and agree 100% that contributors most allow little agencies to grow ... BUT... if this limitations are true is this agency that dont want to grow...
